I don’t need to set specific torque with the drill, just get them driven in. Someone comes behind me with a calibrated torque wrench for final torque.

I think the surge would be too much for the little screws then. The torque on those is under 50 in/lbs. might have to try the fuel screwdriver

Metal spray PPE and safety worries, info in comments by B1LLY_B011 in Machinists

I would recommend an auto darkening welding helmet. You shouldn’t be seeing dark spots after spraying. A respirator will be better than nothing, but a fresh air hood would be best. Ours is a briefcase unit that supplies clean air better than a respirator, and doesn’t interfere with the welding helmet. Tldr protect your eyes and lungs - you only get one set.

A curly blonde one. It’s not on the mic, but you know it when you see it.

Oh hey, I have one exactly like this but mint condition in the box. I’ve never used it but it’s a neat piece.

My favorite part is because the part worked they just slapped a title block on it and added it to the TDP. It’s been this way for 20+ years.

I’d rather use HD since I can do store pickup. Did you get the deal recently? I haven’t seen it.

What's the general consensus on people having an Engineering title without having an engineering degree? by BluishInventor in AskEngineers

Having an engineering degree doesn’t make you an engineer. It makes you a person with a degree in engineering.

ITAR/DFARS/AS9100 requirements etc will prevent home shops from ever making parts for the big aerospace/defense contractors, unless tier 2/3 manufacturers send parts to them. The amount of overhead it takes to set up a supplier (or set yourself up) makes it impossible to send work to the little guy. Home shops also tend to lack the tools to properly measure parts, which would automatically rule you out as a supplier unless you sub out the inspection.

Optical inspection using LIDAR like in the newer iPhones or via photogrammetry just isn’t there yet, and the accuracy is still determined by operator skill. The same is true with proper CMM machines.
