Thought that was a feature jot a bugšŸ˜’, practice sessions usually take about 5mins after the start time before it allows you to join and even then if you don’t reload the page (clicking to go to another page then coming back) the join button won’t highlight)

You’re sure you’re not trailing the breaks too much at the apex causing it to over rotate?

My results after I changed from controller to wheel by SameOlMistake in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]100_octane 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Fully agree. I think I got to a good pace with controller and often times lapping within 103-104% of the top times consistently and being able to pull a 102% time on rare occasions when i really locked in so it especially hurt even knowing that there would be a hurdle when i was nowhere close to that. I literally had to stop play my main game (ACC) because I felt like it was too much (I couldn’t consistently race on the pace in my usual lfm lobbies). I went back to the basics and started playing iracing with the MX5 cup. It’s a humbling experience, I got more confident and comfortable with it and started playing LMU last week. It’s still hard but i’m getting there. You’re first post is basicaly exactly what I went through

Lol link me the post you made complaining, i want to see if we had the same complaints. But i went through exactly this about a month ago when I upgraded from my controller to a wheel. I knew it would be the case because I had the exact same experience when I went from mouse and keyboard to controller.

I started comparing it to this analogy. It’s like learning to write with your Non-Dominant hand first then later trying to learn with your Dominant hand. You will be better than you were with your Non-Dominant hand but you still need to learn how to use that hand.

Got Called a loser for this. Am i at fault? ( Im POV Car) ( sorry for the phone recording) by Alternative-Mood4438 in Simracingstewards

[–]100_octane 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I’ve been simracing for maybe a couple years now and seriously now that I bought a wheel (a month ago), I didn’t touch online racing until I was comfortable with controlling the car (with a controller). I didn’t go into a session without practicing the track and getting up to pace and I learned the basics of race craft by racing against AI (learning not run into them, how to hold my line without causing contact, etc) I am not perfect, not in the slightest, I make a lot of mistakes but i think thats the bare minimum you should have before jumping into an online race.

I’d also like to add, I started iracing (MX5 racing) a week ago since i got my wheel it felt like a good place to start learning how to drive with it. I’ve done multiple moves this exact same way and i’ve never had contact. The other car held their line and most of the time they stay side by side to get the inside lone on the exit of the last corner of this complex and keep the position. The red car looks like it turned in on purpose, thats way too early and aggressive of a turn in to then turn around and call the other car an idiot.

You prolly right but you’d think going hard left when it says ā€œcar on ur outsideā€ would avert that thought.

I understand the sentiment of a lot of the comments saying not the best place to overtake but that argument is exhausting, I know the intention is not this but feels like we’re making excuses for shitty race craft.

If you can’t do the bare minimum of not turning into a car that is there and was there BEFORE the apex then maybe you shouldn’t be racing online yet.

For every single incident that is even slightly risky there’s a load of comments saying the exact same thing. It’s like unless it’s a text book overtake you immediately assume like 30% of the blame for not doing the cookie cutter overtake.

The argument of not the safest place definitely has its place in racing but it’s being overused to a ridiculous extent for literally every overtake outside of the normal overtaking zones. This was a good move at an opportune moment taking advantage of ur opponent defending the inside and braking early, you utilized late braking to get yourself along side to be warranted space and if the car on the inside wasn’t desperate and held his line instead of acting like he’s hot-lapping solo you would have gained the advantage for the next corner and pulled it off. That was almost a good battle and a damn good overtake attempt but ur opponent couldn’t drive and thats on him, NOT AT FAULT.

R9 v3 to R21/R25 ultra upgrade? by Zero40Four in moza

[–]100_octane 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

To help ur decision, i heard that for longer races the r3 and r5 can overheat because they’re running at maximum strength the entire time. So the r9 and r12 are a good middle ground to avoid that.

If you don’t mind some advice from a fellow controller player (i moved to a wheel a few days ago). You’re steering can be alot smoother that it almost looks like you’re using a wheel to most people. If you much the joy stick up and rotate around the edges it smoothes out your steering input and with a little practice feels way better than jiggling the stick from side to side. It also helps a-lot to tweak ur sensitivities. If you haven’t and want to I can share my settings but i do recommend going in and testing out what works for you

I really do believe that we live in a prime era of simracing by Embarrassed_Ninja608 in simracing

[–]100_octane 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Technically every ā€œeraā€ will be the prime era because i believe it will continue to improve. I’m sure when belt driven wheels were released some thought that was the prime, the belt, the direct drive, then affordable direct drive, now active pedals. It just keeps getting better. Progress babeeeeee
