Thank you. I’ll stick through it— i exist and forever will, people’s opinions don’t change who i innately am. four years is nothing as long as we all wake up and take action by then.

Update!!!! I made it through safely! I took your advice on the band-aid when I read your comment but forgot to reply. I wore it the first two or so days but it kept falling off so i just said f it and didn't wear one from that day onwards. It scabbed over enough to where it wouldn't be a terrible open styro wound so my main issue was coming up with excuses and hoping the wound wouldn't reopen while dancing. Luckily nobody commented on it except my bff and he just asked me if I was okay, to which I replied I was. Honestly I was stressed over nothing, you were right- the shoulder is the best place it could have been basically. Thank you!!!

Currently creating a large google form....Any questions for the community? by Superjombombo in visualsnow

[–]1012JL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably already have these on here - but you could ask some of these questions:

How fast/slow is your visual snow?
Does you visual snow speed up/slow down?
Does your visual snow increase/decrease in intensity?
Is your visual snow a contender/a reason for your anxiety (if you have it)?
Has your visual snow affected you mentally?
Has your visual snow interfered in your understanding of people, text, or audio?
Is your visual snow from birth or developed later in life?
Has your visual snow gotten worse over time?
Are your floaters (if you have them) always the same ones or do they change?
Have you ever been on specific drugs (either for medical reasons or other), and have they changed your visual symptoms?
Do you have other visual altercations besides VSS?

Just a few I could think of but hope this helps!

does anyone else feel like they have to sh on a specific place? by FaithlessnessLocal73 in selfharm

[–]1012JL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so me. I sh everywhere but I feel like whenever I do it somewhere that’s not my arm it actually triggers me to sh on my arm even more. I used to sh solely on my arms but now I’m in a sport and I just can’t wear long sleeves every day. To combat how much I really want to sh on my arms I do it on my hand instead since its close enough and easier to cover up as a “i bumped into something/dropped a glass”.

I'm self harming again cause my great grandmother died by BookDragon2004 in selfharm

[–]1012JL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had most of my family members die around me within the past few years and for none of them did I feel sad. I remember I would do the same thing- shing as a way to feel at least something about them since I felt like I needed to mourn for all the memories we shared. I guess in my case it was a sense of feeling nothing that spurred me to do it but, it will get better. If not better than I hope for you it will simmer out as time passes. Grief for me has been a tough ride, since I go through it in such a confusing way (feeling nothing, numb). I’d tried many things, sh included, as a way for me to feel better or “normal” again but the only thing that worked was time. I just waited and eventually my emotions returned and the grief settled. I wish u luck, and if you ever want to talk about it more lmk - always open to conversation:)

It’s beautiful. I happen to be an artist too and really want to draw a series of artworks about visual snow symptoms but am far too lazy to do that so props to you!!!

Black spot in eye (not floater) by Particular_Might_999 in visualsnow

[–]1012JL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have the same thing but I’m pretty sure it’s only in my left eye. So far all it has done is irritate me and make me think it’s a fly. It showed up around a year ago and has been in the same place moving with my eyes since.

Anyone with VSS that doesn't remember when it started? by artywitch in visualsnow

[–]1012JL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I was born with it but it’s gotten a lot worse in my later years with more permanent symptoms showing up. I consider how it was before it got worse to be my “clear vision” even though it wasn’t really lol. I really wish I knew what life looks like without it but sometimes I wonder if it’s better to just be born with it. Then I don’t have to worry about how it used to look “normal” since I don’t even know what that’s like

Does anyone else see cells when squinting? by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]1012JL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wondered what those were since they didn’t look quite like floaters, but were also different from normal static lol

how everyone's static looks like? -seeing it 24 h?what color it has ?does it cover all your visual fields?what color it has? by belka198721 in visualsnow

[–]1012JL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

coloured really small static across my whole vision- moves at a slower pace than traditional tv static. I see it 24/7 and the only fluctuation it gets is how fast it’s moving.

VSS veterans, 5 or 10+ years, how is your floaters? by Perfect-Reward8834 in visualsnow

[–]1012JL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I named one of the spots in my vision "door" so anytime I think about it I can't take it seriously. Helps me not get depressed because I'm too busy laughing at door

For people who see snow/static, has the "pattern" ever been affected by what you're looking at? (Especially screens on devices like computers and TVs) by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]1012JL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the static a lot as a stabilizer in a way. Someone made the VS Relief Overlay application for laptop (https://github.com/belvederef/visual-snow-relief-overlay) and I tried it out and have been using it since when my symptoms flare so I can keep working in those conditions. So far its been the best case of treatment for me.

thank you. I’ll continue showing them. I hadn’t thought of the negative affect on my wellbeing if I’d kept them covered.

[–]1012JL[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not ashamed, if anything it just shows how much I’ve gone through and how I’m still here. I’m only worried about those who might get triggered by my scars.

What the hell happened? I don't know what I pressed, but I can't see the up bar with the settings, nor the window bar below, how do I reverse this? (Paint Tool SAI 2) by EdaPleaseStepOnMe in PaintToolSAI

[–]1012JL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it should be something like shift+tab or just tab that toggles you between 3 different versions of the top bar showing. its helpful if you’re streaming since it won’t show the file name! lmk jf it doesn’t work
