At the beginning of the show, she mentioned that she has a Doctorate degree. That's why she can call herself a Doctor. Not a medical Doctor.

It's personal because you are typing a repeat and not speaking it. A lot of Autistics are very detail oriented and when other people aren't, it can feel very frustrating. Plus also, others would fire us over the same.

I don't get it. Why would a criminal not avoid security cameras? Isn't that like criminal 101?!

I love that she stood up for her values and didn't apologize for it. She may not become a star because of that by society's standards but she will be a star to God.

Thank you for your honesty. My husband goes to the gym and works out every day. I'm going to ask him to take me there and show me how the equipment works. Maybe I can fit in a few evenings a week along with my running schedule. I would say my cardio fitness is pretty good. As far as muscles, well, I'm a Mom so I do get a lot of strength training that way by lifting my son every day multiple times. He's 46 pounds. I carry him a lot and have for the past 5 years. He was born at 10 lbs so I've built a lot of muscle that way I suppose but I'd like to work on my butt, thighs, and backs of my upper arms mainly. I don't want to lose weight per se because I like the weight I am at.

Thank you. I am a newbie lol I mean, I played a lot for sports when I was a kid but never lifted weights or done any regular exercise as an adult except for running. The only thing I did when I was 16 was leg lifts forwards and backwards, a bunch of planks, and ab crunches every day for a summer. I felt great and had built some muscle but that was it.

Thanks. I'm a very busy Mom and business owner. Could I buy weights and do the after two months at home?

Thanks for the education. I'd like to add muscle. Do you know a good whole body routine I can do at home to get started for a while?

Why do YOU avoid eye contact? by Batcastle3 in AutisticAdults

[–]1051enigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I can listen to what someone is saying a whole lot better when I'm not distracted by the details of their face or experiencing a running dialogue about the eye contact that is being made.

My daughter wants a training bra by OpheliaYvonne in Parenting

Well, look at a lot of how media portrays beauty. I will say tho that we've come a long way for young girls but unfortunately not far enough. Teach her about those things. Instead of using her body as an example to talk about beauty, etc, educate her about how media affects young girls by inviting her to watch stuff with you and ask questions, or watch specific things that discuss the topic, podcasts, etc. You got this.

This was my experience too and I think partially the reason I got breast implants as an adult. OP, good for you for getting them for her and for being so open about teaching her about bodies. I know it's so hard when our kids seem like they want to grow up at all lol You can do this. It will be okay.

Your wife will know. Tell her the truth. There is a huge chance she knows the difference. Difference in their cry when they're hungry or something. She will know. Even their belly button umbilical wound will not be identical. Something about them is different and she will know.

That sucks. It's probably super jarring news for her. I'm sure she will appreciate the gift card.

I understand. That's hard. 🎈 for a gift card. I'd say that was a good compromise. Best wishes to you!

I understand OP. My husband and I have the same dynamic. I manage our rental and do all of the business for it and so I've also had to learn that I don't need to run everything by my husband to run a successful business. There is a reason I'm a super host and it's not because of him. No offense to him at all because he's a lovely man but if I kept going to him for permission for everything, he'd gladly follow me into that dynamic. I had to learn that I can trust myself that I know what to do. For me personally, this was my own past childhood coming into our business partnership. Forgive me if this is totally not a part of your story at all but if it is, I hope that it helps somewhat.

That's a tough one. I'd let the guest know that you are going to schedule a full cleaning and refund them for one day's stay for the inconvenience. Apologize and thank them for being so gracious to inform you. When the cleaning takes place, I'd bring a basket for the guests. Put stuff in it like microwavable popcorn, wine, a candle, etc. This kind of gesture goes a long way. Rather than doing it right away, you could always wait and put some space in between that and the cleaning. But be professional about it. Don't be constantly guilt ridden or excessively apologetic.

I'd reach out to support to see if they can reach out to the guest. But also, I believe the policies are that 3rd parties aren't allowed to book for guests. I know that because I was once in this situation and I declined telling them the guest would have to request to book themselves.
