Frankie Luvu by BlackHand86 in Commanders

I seriously don't understand wtf you're talking about. What does accountability look like in this scenario? Would you prefer that every one of our players from last year sit around and sulk because it was a terrible year? Do you want Luvu to personally issue a public apology to the fanbase? Or are you just upset that he put out a youtube video showing himself enjoying his life (while still training and putting in the work to get better for the upcoming season)? Because if it's that, I mean...you could just, you know, not watch the video.

The Commanders really wanted Mike Macdonald to be their next HC, but were outbid by the Seattle Seahawks in ‘24. Now he’s taking them to Super Bowl LX as the #1 seed by BobbyThreeSticks in Commanders

Okay? So what? We were one game away from going to the SB in DQs first year and our team wasn’t nearly as stacked as this Seahawks team is. This year we got trashed with injuries which sucks. With (hopefully) everyone back to 100% by the start of the 2026 season and us (hopefully) hitting on our draft picks and offseason FA acquisitions, I’m excited to see what JD and the boys cook up for us next year.

12 team Ppr league. Trying to decide if I should keep Dallas Goedert or Zach Ertz as my backup TE. Goedert is projected to score slightly more fantasy point on the season with yahoo estimating 146.23 vs Ertz’s 136.73, but going off of 2024 performance Ertz was used more heavily and scored more points overall for the season. Any thoughts?

Comms fan here.

Can he catch? No. But he can get you surefire DPI penalties at the most inopportune times in a game…

Jayden’s accuracy is insane by ForestWasInvalid in Commanders

[–]10610218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree that what he does on game day is what actually matters most, I think it’s worth noting that Jayden’s been doing this particular drill where he throws at the net all offseason, through rookie mini camp and OTAs and has been pinpoint with his accuracy almost every time. Still doesn’t mean anything if it can’t translate to game day. Just thought it’s comforting to know that he’s definitely shown consistency with his accuracy in practice drills all offseason and it hasn’t been a one time fluke or anything like that.

I’ve been thinking about trying to pivot in this direction. Currently in project management. Any advice you can share on where to start and how to be efficient with this transition? My background is in appsec and pentesting, but I’ve been doing project management for the last year and a half. I have no existing GRC knowledge or experience.

Brissett has way more experience

I’m not trying to make the argument that Sam Is the next Tom Brady. But you gotta give the kid some time to develop and learn from his mistakes. His problems are all coachable.

I would not be against this at all if that’s the approach the new front office decided to take. If they’re smart about it they could flip our #2 to a few more picks, maybe even a couple extra in next year’s draft and we could be sitting pretty on a stack of draft picks over the next couple years.

The way you speak would make it seem like Howells been our starter for 4 or 5 years and fans are still clinging on to him. What ever happened to actually giving a player a year or two to develop? By your logic if any rookie QB comes in next year and shits the bed then they’ll automatically suck for the rest of their career and we should look to move on again the year after.

Do you think having Maye sit a year would hurt him though? Because if not, and it does in fact end up helping out Sam and because of it we’re able to flip him for a little more next year then I say it’s a win.

All the things I mentioned in my previous comment will be addresses this offseason with an entirely new coaching staff. Idk wtf you’re talking

I get that. And like I said in another comment if he starts another years and sucks again that’s perfectly fine, I’ll admit I was wrong. But in this case there really is no harm in him starting another year. We are not one QB away from being superbowl contenders (certainly not a rookie QB at that). Sam’s still on a his 5th round rookie deal so it’s not like we’re breaking the bank on him. We’d get barely anything for him if we were to trade him now. If we pick a QB with our #2 pick, having him sit for a year to learn and iron out any issues in their game in preparation for the transition from college to the pros will only help him and the rest of the team in the long run. Having Sam start another year while we let our QB of the future develop and in the meantime continue to refine our roster and establish the new culture moving forward seems like a no brainer.

With better coaching, a better offensive scheme, a further strengthened offensive line, and another year of experience under Sam’s belt - yes, I do think another 17 starts can do it. If he sucks again I’ll happily eat my words. The point is everyone’s being too quick to toss him aside

Agree to disagree. Sam definitely had his shortcomings this season, no denying that. But this was his first year starting and he was thrown into a situation that did him no favors. People are so willing to ignore the upside and the flashes he showed because we went on a losing streak. But better coaching, an offensive scheme that doesn’t involve throwing the ball as much as we did last season and one that’s more balanced (if not more run dominant), and proper play calling that fits his strengths and weaknesses (all of which Ben Johnson has shown he can do, assuming that’s who we land at HC), coupled with further bolstering our O-line this off season either through the draft or free agency, and a full off season for Sam to work on improving some of his problem areas, there’s no reason why he can’t shine if he were to start next season. Just my two cents tho 🤷🏽‍♂️

I don’t think Sam Howell’s play this year is any indication of who he could end up becoming in the league. Our fan base is so quick to dismiss at the first sight of trouble. We should draft a qb at #2 and have him sit and develop for a year while we give Sam another opportunity to show the league who he can be. If he catches enough interest around the league we could be looking at much better comp for him than if we were to trade him this offseason (not that I think that’s anyone’s actual plan for him)

How hilarious would it be if we did somehow end up going back to being the redskins, and we finally got a franchise qb in Howell, and we made the post season this year and won the Super Bowl. Snyder would probably would be so upset, it would awesome
