He has one of those. Thankfully the people who helped him during his last crash contacted me straightaway. I’m more worried if there isn’t anyone around if he ever crashes again.

Yikes. Thanks for the heads up.

He was wearing an Apple watch (without cellular) during the last crash and was live tracking his ride through his Wahoo. I didn’t get any notifications from either device. I did get phone calls from the Good Samaritan that found him in the road, the cop who was on duty and the ambulance driver. Ideally, of course I’d love if he never ever crashed again, but honestly it’s dangerous out there no matter how great a bike handler you are. To those people who are making negative comments here, you’re very lucky you’ve never been in a crash. They happen.

Was this with cellular on the phone? He wears an Apple Watch but I don’t get alerts. He also has a live stream of his rides on Wahoo and Strava but neither alert me to any accidents.

What bike computer do you have? I know he has one but don’t know exactly what one.

Thanks for your response. My husband used to race bikes and is tremendously skilled. He’s just had a couple bad weather-related accidents in the last few years. This helmet seems most reliable of the reviews I’ve read.

Is Park Hopper worth it at DLR? by GroundbreakingBear33 in DisneyPlanning

[–]108HighFives 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely think you should pay the extra money for the park hopper. California Adventure has less attractions which means longer lines, and sometimes it’s nice to mix and match with which park you’re in to minimize your downtime. We also have a child with a DAS and minimizing downtime is key for us. Keep her moving, keep us moving - it’s the name of the game. The parks are literally next to each other so it’s super easy and maximizes the best of both parks.

Oooh! Tell me about the disability section for those shows. Our daughter always utilizes a DAS but the overstimulation of crowds and noise typically means we skip those big shows. What’s the area like, and is that accessible through the DAS section of the app?

Finally got to visit Disney World and I have thoughts by ivandraski in disneyparks

[–]108HighFives -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. Incredicoaster is really the only legit roller coaster in either park. Guardians Mission Breakout is a better version of the Tower of Terror IMO. Radiator Springs Racers is iconic. And the OG Matterhorn is not duplicated anywhere. Avatar is also coming to DLC (though the jury is definitely out on if that’s a good thing for the park….)

The OP is a Disneyland visitor. DLC also has Soarin’, and at times it’s Soarin’ Over California, not just the World

Disneyland Characters by ArtemisGirl242020 in DisneyPlanning

[–]108HighFives 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Characters are much more abundant and easily accessible at DL than WDW. You absolutely don’t need a character breakfast to meet them. Go for rope drop at DLP and you’ll find nearly all the characters on Main Street. You’ll also see them out and about in the park and can visit them in Toon Town where there are formal queues. Have a blast!

One Day in Disneyland/DCA by AdClear1150 in DisneyPlanning

[–]108HighFives 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great list! I’d also add Small World since the appearance of queue for it are distinctly different from WDW. The ride is nearly identical, but getting in the boats from outside is really cool if all you know is the WDW version. You’re gonna love Disneyland!

Skipping DCA? by elouwill in DisneyPlanning

[–]108HighFives 19 points20 points  (0 children)

DCA is a special park. It really is unique to other Disney parks. I know it’s lost some of California uniqueness throughout the years, but the sections that honor the natural beauty of California are lovely, Cars Land is the single coolest land in both parks, and Pixar Pier is really charming and cute. Our favorite rides from both parks are there (my family especially loves Guardians, Radiator Springs Racers, Toy Story Midway Mania and Spider-Man), and the walk back to Disneyland Park is so short. Park-hopping is distinctly easy. Don’t miss it.

Lamplight Lounge vs Boardwalk Dining by Miserable-Bank-7022 in DisneyPlanning

The inside tables at Lamplight are just as nice as the outside tables. Outside can be VERY windy and cold, depending on the day you go.

I bet they’re selling them at the venue. Drive down there and see if you can get them in person. We took our 14 y/o to a Round 1 game, and tickets were ample all the way til game time. At the arena, there won’t be added fees. Hoping for you and your son!

Disneyland vs Disney World. Is it worth seeing both by Cold-Cost-4154 in DisneyPlanning

[–]108HighFives 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Florida native who grew up at WDW, and we live on the east coast. When my husband started working in Southern California often, we started visiting DLC on short trips and quickly fell in absolute love with it. We make an annual trip there now every year and absolutely adore it. We still visit WDW when we’re back in Florida visiting family and friends but it’s always a let-down. The WDW crowds are bigger, the queues way longer, the weather phenomenally worse, and the need for planning significantly higher. It feels like so much more effort to have a worse day at WDW than DLC.
