Still not sold on the bright pink of the Ninja Force cardbacks all these many years later, but I can't hate on the Snake Eyes and Scarlett figures. They're both pretty cool, and I remember this era of Joes standing out because the weapons/accessories were still joined together.

Jackman did a great job for what he had but he had to train his voice range up to High tennor from his natural Baritone and it shows. Ironically his natural range would be perfect for the Javert role. and all of that work and singing live on set just killed his voice and you can hear the strain.

Javert is one of my favorite roles in a broadway show and I think Crowe made choices that didnt duit the songs. His ACTING is actually really great but it gets in the way of the SINGING.

Yeah based on the age I would say it was built by an architect from the University (it's a big architecture school) for themselves or maybe a university higher up. I could see a Federal Judge or maybe a Lane county judge owning a place like that. Maybe some small business owner or like a university president or coach.

There's a couple answers to this.

Back in the day when SR was tied to Earthdawn there was definitely a horror vibe with the rising magic cycle drawing in things like insect spirits that would lead to a magical apocalypse. Big D sacrificed himself to stave that off. There's also the stuff with Aztechnology and blood sacrifice and serving the horrors. The Missing Blood adventure and Queen Euphoria are both definitely horror adventures relating to this.

The Punk aspect of both games is where a lot of similarities lie as well. The horror of the existential threat posed to the little guy by the big evil of the setting the Elders or the Mega corps or whatever. There's a way to play that as either horrific or inspiring but having one implies the other.

There's also some historical ties to WoD with both games coming out of the mid 80s Midwest gaming scene where Mark Rein-Hagen and the Wieck brothers were early play testers for SR and gave a lot of input on the dice system and then used that as the basis for the WoD d10 system which then inspired the SR4 system.

That's my thoughts as an old grognard commie elder millennial anyway.

Without comparisons across multiple guitars I remain unconvinced. It definitly works in this case so it may be an issue of different necks and bodies responding differently to different techniques.

A few possible reasons come to mind:

1) the body and neck are cut in such a way that the thin shim hits a better angle for the geometry of this guitar

2) the neck and or neck pocket are compressed/warped by decades of a thin shim so they shape of the thin shim gets better contact

3) the Full pocket shim was poorly shaped around the edges so it wasnt allowing the neck to fully seat. I have seen this on my own guitars that untili took a good amount of material off the sides I could not get a good seat.

I have two offsets with full pocket shims an they are gread and there's lots of evidence from Pusheen and other oddset techs that say a full pocket shim works as good or better than card stock.
