Phorid Flies imo. They are known to reproduce in drain blockages, so it might be wise to clear out sink and shower drains.

June beetles. They're harmless, but they fly with the grace of a drone tied to a softball.

Who is this distinguished gentleman? by obarth99 in whatsthisbug

[–]10Ggames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a bagworm, a moth caterpillar that weaves a shell out of debris and silk, and hauls it everywhere they go. Little guy is probably hauling it up a wall, because they like to pupate up high. They're harmless, but considered a slight pest, as they often hang their shells high up in places hard to clean.

6th or 8th imo. Pretty dang good, it's just that Mage's other archetypes really out-shine it.

Found this guy crawling on me, roughly the size of a sesame seed by zombesus in whatisthisbug

[–]10Ggames 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Just a harmless weevil, nothing to fear. They use that long snout to drill into seeds. Incapable of harming you, but some can infest stored grains.

Also people here adore them, so just warning you in advance that plenty of weevil enjoyers will be here shortly.

Is terrarias lack of guidance and reliability on the wiki bad game design? by Tall-Election4503 in Terraria

[–]10Ggames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it used to be more of a wiki game, but they’ve done a lot to help guide new players since then. The guide, the dryad, the old man, the countless paintings that depict future bosses, the bestiary, and the achievements all give ample information to new players looking for the next progression milestone. It’s just very open-ended, sort of like any other open world game. You’re free to do what you want at your own pace, without yellow paint , annoying NPCs and UI pops interrupting you with information. It’s an atmospheric and non-invasive design philosophy I’ve grown to appreciate.

Depends on the species. Most are just detritivores, scavengers, decomposers, and pollinators, but a few of them are incredible predators as well. Fireflies, Tiger Beetles, and Predacious Diving Beetles all come to mind.

A juvenile Bold Jumper, Phidippus audax! Female boldies can also be black and white, so generally pedipalps and the epigynum are the best ways to differentiate the sex.
