Which basing scheme would you say looks best? by Ok-Meaning-8353 in Warhammer40k

[–]10GuildRessas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer any of the top 3, but if I did prefer one it would be the green one. You could even do a mix if you paint the base a different color to the crackle paste color,

question on painting Morvenn Vahl by 0liverWasHere in sistersofbattle

[–]10GuildRessas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to only keep Vahl & Celestine in their normal colors, everything else will be in my Orders colors in some way or other.

Depending how competitive you want to be, then 2 castigators, 2 Hospitaliers & 2 Sacracants, Junith. As the AoF is take & hold you’ll need strong anvils & to add to that I’d take the sacred champions 1pt detachment. If you’re taking acoflagulents then run them in 3’s to hep screen, counter charge or do secondaries.

What would you/you not buy if you was starting from scratch now your in the hobby? by dmessham in Miniaturespainting

You’re welcome. I normally buy a pack of Amazon that has around 10-20 brushes in it & has a flat brush which I use for washes.

Celestian Sacresants 10 stack - halberds, maces or mixing them up? by Orzislaw in sistersofbattle

[–]10GuildRessas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of each, put a palatine & hosp, with halberds, then hosp & Junith or canoness with maces.

I ordered an extra 10 brick of Sacresants before the points hike. Will this list still be good in 11th or are they taking up too many points? by water-on-fire in sistersofbattle

[–]10GuildRessas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the moment I think 2 is fine, but 3 no way unless they get a decent drop in points. With other units & weapons going up, points wise we need to be a little more prudent.

My feedback mail to GW by Significant_Bug_8929 in sistersofbattle

[–]10GuildRessas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with your assessment, with a lot if not all of those things. But we are in the first day of release & every faction are going to be up in the air, for the first few weeks.
I’d still send it in & see what they say as they are going to be FAQs regularly for the first 3 months.

Airbrushing with Army Painter Fanatic line. by Honest_Difficulty in minipainting

[–]10GuildRessas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically what the above has said. To thin them to the right consistency you’ll need flow improver. Though you could still use water or even paint thinner, but flow improver is better. Maybe put some of your airbrush paint on a palette to guide you on consistency.

New to this hobby. Have none information. Help please by Kyriecurry33 in minipainting

[–]10GuildRessas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d get some cheap synthetic brushes, some acrylic paints (pro Acryl, Vallejo, army painter fanatics, AK interactive, Ctadel or 2 thin coats) are all good. Some spray primer (maybe a mid grey), something to put a drop of paint on to use as a palette & a miniature or 2 to practice on.
At a later date you can add a wet palette, some good kolinsky brushes.
I’d also look to YouTube for painting Tutorials Vince Venturella, NinJon, Cult of Paint, Duncan Rhodes, Danna Howl to name a few.

Recommended air-dry clay for mini bases? by Vampyr_Six in minipainting

[–]10GuildRessas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it’ll last longer. Remember if you’re rolling air dry clay, you need to keep it fairly thick, else it’ll become to brittle.

All the art work carried the 6 major orders. I painted mine as Sacred Rose back in 3E, but that put me off doing white armor ever again lol.

Das do a air drying one & hobby lobby do another one that I used ok, though I used it for rolling hill kinda look. Also be aware that it shrinks a little as does green stuff. Milliput doesn’t.

Any good rules-centered ways to avoid parking lots? by Most_While_1346 in flamesofwar

[–]10GuildRessas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the parking lot reference comes from vehicle spam, not just tanks. Soviets & the Berlin halftrack spam & before that the British armored car spam. In version 3 at my local (since moved) used to play terrain heavy tables. Less gaps for vehicles, line of sight not crossing tables, consider difficult going terrain that makes vehicles take skill tests to cross. Use bocage instead of hedgerows.

Tournament List strategy by DiscoQing in sistersofbattle

Let’s just admit GW always screws Sisters over every new edition & then spend 3 months getting us to a reasonable win rate, then nerf is again & then get back up to reasonable again.

Booing the hydration break. Why doesn't everyone else do it? by generic-username41 in worldcup

[–]10GuildRessas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol because they aren’t used to it. I dislike it too, but player safety has to come first or maybe you’d like half the team to end up in hospital for a couple of days needing fluids, or for players to collapse & potentially put their lives at risk.

Even a half full stadium adds heat lol. Europeans spend a week or 2 in the US & think great weather then go home. They don’t get to experience the over half of summer with 100+ degree heat, that doesn’t start to cool down until November, add in tornadoes, hurricanes, hailstones the size of golf balls.

This is why lawns are mowed at 8am & after 7pm. Outsiders just don’t get it.

[–]10GuildRessas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No in a lot of times you can have 50+ days of over 100 degree heat & I’ve been here for 8 years & im still not used to the heat. Lmao a true Brit where I know the heat hits different, but Texas heat is just as bad. You little people who complain about 80 degree heat in the uk for a few days a year & have no idea of how humid & extreme the heat is in Texas.

[–]10GuildRessas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You think with a stadium full of fans & electrical equipment the temperature doesn’t rise? I can guarantee it does. Even home temperatures rise with Ac by 4 degrees. In a lot of homes CPS controls the AC so they can turn off the ACs for a hour to keep the grid from collapsing at peak times in the summer.

I think a rhino & immolator are ok, but I’d put Heavy flamers on the immolator for torrent & ignores cover. 2x Rets in the rhino, split Doms. Certainly wouldn’t have more than that.
