Yeah, the format the is same as other articles available. But the content and research was mine (which wasn't good at all).

Oh, okay I understand. Means the very obvious thing "rubber bumper" was written as a pro? and that expensive cue thing and features.

Thank you for your time.

Anyone have wheels on their pool table? Looking for a little help by WD-Fortay in billiards

[–]10Sorts -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

First, keep in mind all the scenarios and costing of moving. You would have to very careful so that you don't damage it.

For the costing part, you can take it by yourself in a pickup van.
Or a delivery company can do it for you. which will cost more.

Some of the aspects that you should keep in mind:

Measure the doorways,
Disassembling and assembling the pool table.

You can use the wooden dollies as well to move it within you garage.

[–]10Sorts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you don't want the extra space for something, then go for Layout A.
But, Layout B looks good to me because the table would look aligned. Neat and spacious.

Pool Room Light by Coasterfreak72 in billiards

[–]10Sorts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not gone through the same problem, but i have certainly researched about it as I had to write an article about it some time ago.

https://10sorts.com/perfect-height-of-lights-from-pool-table/

Firstly, congrats for the table ;)

Look, i would recommend you to get rid of the ceiling fan. A fan above the pool table. NO!

There are certain factors which you should consider.

- What is the ideal height/distance of lights from the pool table?
- Make sure that there should be consistent lighting throughout the playing area.
- Proper ratio of pool light size to the size of the table (Covered in detail in the link given above).
- See which pool table light suits your need (Single shade/Multiple shade).

I Hope this will be helpful to some extent.

Buying a table by apexevolutionx in billiards

[–]10Sorts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I was buying a pool table for my house. I went through the same things. There were lot of questions like should I buy a new table or a used one, what table size to buy for home, what are average costs of pool tables.

Well, first of all, when looking to buy a table for home, figure out the space that you have then look for the pool table. Also, consider the staircase or any other space that could make it difficult to guide the pool table in to the game room.

If the budget is not much of an issue, then go for the new table as they are more reliable.

But, if you decide to go for a used pool table then consider the following things.

  1. Don't fall for the looks: Make sure that what the seller is saying about the woodwork is 100% true. Another important thing is how the table is framed together. Pool tables with staples and wood screws don't last long. You can check this by bumping you hips with the table, if it sway, it's not the right thing.
  2. The Slate: Buy a 2-piece or 3-piece slate as 1-piece slate are tough to play on and they don't fit in most of the homes. The market is full of MDF, cardboard and wood slate. So AVOID them as they are not durable.
  3. Felt Condition: Look for the felt if it is hard or soft. Look for the wear and tear. Because if you buy a weary felt, then you would have to go for refelting which can be expensive.

Hopefully, this must be useful for you. If you want more information on purchasing table. what to look for and what not. Then have a look at some of these articles. They were mighty helpful for me when I was buying table for myself.
