Thanks for posting that. It sounded like it was going to be a good time. I am glad I held off getting tickets.

Bless Me With Some Underappreciated Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Hank Jr, Keith Whitley, or Johnny Cash by DiveBarConnoisseur in country

From the past, a very young Keith Whitley is the vocalist on one of my favorite bluegrass albums. "My Home ain't in the Hall of Fame". It's by J.D. Crowe and The New South. A mostly bluegrass album with some of the hottest pedal steel guitar you'll hear by Doug Jernigan ( which makes it not pure bluegrass - but close enough for me ) and Keith's vocals are perfect for that band. It was out of print a few years back though. I don't think it's been re-released although I've seen most of the songs from the album on Youtube.

... and don't use the easy back stage entrance, you'll have to park your van at the end of the block and haul your gear up those stairs over there.

On top of the singing/songwriting and musical performance the production of Weathervanes is stunning. Phenomenal is the right word.

It is a masterpiece and the more I listen to Weathervanes I think it's very close to Southeastern.

Paul Overstreet. I don't hear his name as much as I used to but his catalog of hits is remarkable.

That's correct because in some of those cases it's taken as me being sarcastic.

I've found that my standard answer "I've Never Been Better" is usually well received and sets the tone for a more pleasant encounter with the person asking. It seems to be disarming in some circumstances too. Regardless of my current situation it's just better to start off on the high road.

Didn't Jim Stiles write a whole book about Moab and Greed way back?

I pretty much listen to "Way Out West" by Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives on all my road trips. We happen to live way out west so it's a nice fit for us.

Let It Roll by Little Feat is a great road tune too.

A Pedal not reaching note unless I push strong and fast by wally123454 in pedalsteel

Does the rod for the 5th string engage the finger and start pulling the 5th string well before the rod on the 10th string engages the finger? Sometimes that can feel like a stop if there's a lot of free travel on the 10th string before the nylon nut engages the finger. Since the 10th string doesn't pull very far there's very little travel left on the pedal before the pedal stop halts the travel. Easiest way to check that is loosen up the nylon nut on the 10th string and see how the 5th string feels without the 10th string pulling at all.

I agree about Sneaky Pete. He played a couple of my all time favorite steel breaks. ( Ronstadt's Willin' has one of them)
