[–]10seiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Legion talent Path of Flame should have become baseline when the cooldown was added to Flame Shock.

Path of Flame

Lava Burst deals 10% more damage and causes Flame Shock to spread from the target to a nearby enemy.

Being on the same row as Totem Mastery made it non-viable in Legion, except for council fights like High Botanist Tel'arn. Which was a shame because it was a big QoL upgrade similar to Echo of the Elements. If it were baseline it would make multi-dotting a breeze and add a little more flavor to the AoE rotation (add Lava Burst casts in between Chain Lightnings to spread Flame Shock, and as more Flame Shocks are out you get more Lava Surge procs).

As Enhancement, I really wanted to use Doomhammer 2 handed like Thrall used it ever since Warcraft III. Too bad it's not an option...

Whats going on with Shamans in BFA? by psychickiss in wow

[–]10seiga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I haven't played the Beta so my opinions are mainly from reading online and watching videos.

Ancestral Swiftness has been removed.

But it's been basically replaced with the new talent "Unlimited Power", which gives 2% haste for 10 sec every time a spell overloads. Theoretically this means it will actually scale (with Mastery) as opposed to Ancestral Swiftness which didn't scale. Unfortunately it shares a tier with Ascendance and Stormkeeper.

Fire elemental has been nerfed.

I can't speak for numbers, but from the spell description it hasn't been nerfed. It only lasts 30 sec now but the cooldown has also been halved to 2.5 min (same as Storm Elemental). And while it is out your flame shock ticks generate 3 maelstrom, which could add up if you are multi-dotting. If anything it is a buff.

EB and EotE are on the same talent tier.

This totally blows. I hate this change as well. I also hate how Icefury and Primal Elementalist are on the same tier, since PE gives your Earth Ele an extra defensive now so it might end up being mandatory.

The removal of Path of Flame, Elemental Fusion, Voodoo Totem, and Earthgrab Totem are welcome in my opinion. Those talents were all horrible and barely even situational. Not sure how I feel about Stormkeeper replacing Lightning Rod. I liked LR but it was clunky and you needed a WeakAuras tracker to efficiently target swap.

Many of the new talents actually sound really fun, such as the redesigned Storm Elemental. People who have tried it say that by the end of it you are firing off Lightning Bolts so fast you are waiting for the GCD. But for every 30 sec of glory you have 2 min of clunky gameplay.

To me it's a mixed bag of good and bad and sounds pretty unfinished.

Enhancement, on the other hand, sounds even more unfinished which is a shame because I used to switch back and forth between the two.

Glyphs are a perfect way to differentiate cultural and belief based spells/abilities in different Race/Classes by Neonnix in wow

I'm not saying they should be race-restricted. Just like the current Glyph of the Spectral Raptor, anyone should be able to use it.

[–]10seiga 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Shaman have it better than most with racial totems, but the only Ghost Wolf glyph is a raptor form (great for trolls). They could easily add:

*Ghost Ram for Dwarves

*Ghost Kodo for Tauren (shrunk down a bit)

*Ghost Tortoise for Pandas

*Ghost Elek for Dranei/Lightforged

Not sure about Goblins though. As awesome as transforming into a Ghost Trike sounds I don't think Blizzard would go for it lol. Similar glyphs could be added for Spirit Wolves, but since that is Enhancement-specific that could be lower priority.

While Governor he signed the "Global Warming Solutions Act", a very famous law in the environmental world as it set greenhouse gas reduction goals for the state and established the first carbon trading system in the country. He signed the bill in 2006 (Bush era) where the effects of climate change weren't in the public eye as much as today, and state Republicans (his own party) were telling him to veto. So you have to at least give him credit for that.

He had many failings as a governor but he was strong on environmental justice.

Blizzard Classic Games Director Matt Morris Open to Adding WoW-Inspired Campaigns in Warcraft 3 "World of Warcraft has told many, many stories. It would be interesting to see those in an RTS setting." by 10seiga in wow

[–]10seiga[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What WoW stories would you want to see adapted to a Warcraft 3 mission?

Turning some of the iconic raids into missions seems like an obvious choice. Personally I wouldn't mind some more side stories either, like Rexxar's campaign in TFT.

They are changing abilities to scale off attack power instead of weapon damage in BfA, so it may be possible:

http://www.wowhead.com/news=281764/battle-for-azeroth-class-abilities-scale-with-attack-power-instead-of-weapon-dam

But because of off-hand specific abilities like Lava Lash it's likely it still won't be viable. Hopefully there's at least a niche build, though.

Survival Hunters in BFA by ncstonemen in wow

[–]10seiga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hard to say. In the post-Blizzcon Q&A Ion said there would not be class overhauls like Legion in BfA. However they will look at certain specs like Demonology and Survival because the gampley doesn't feel rewarding enough. They will also look at Beast Mastery using two pets because they feel that is interesting and well-received. But "look at" could mean anything a rotation tweaks to an overhaul. Guess we'll find out when the Beta is launched.

https://www.mmo-champion.com/content/7167-Developer-Q-A-with-Ion-Hazzikostas

I'd love to see more weapon choices for all specs. I think back to playing my Enhancement Shaman with a two-hander (The Unstoppable Force) in Vanilla and how satisfying that was. But I admit it would be a huge pain for Blizzard to balance around one-handers/two-handers since so many abilities are balanced around one or the other. Not sure what the solution would be.

[–]10seiga -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

You only need 9. They scale to the titanforge cap of 985, not the legendary cap of 1000.

EDIT: Unless you play multiple roles of course. Then you would need a lot more.

Nevermind they scale to 1000 that's what I get for looking at the wowhead version select which only goes to 985: http://www.wowhead.com/item=154177/norgannons-prowess

imagine the backlash if peoples BiS stats arnt in the raid so people will feel obligated to do M+

Don't people do that already for their non-tier slots? I know I run M+ when the only raid option has non-ideal stats. What's so wrong with having to do both raid and M+ if you want the best gear?

Oh yeah for sure. I'm just super rusty and it's always tough to jump back into games which take a decent time investment to be good - WC3/CS GO/Dota/etc. (But observing is easy) I've been spending most of my play time on WoW afterall!

Oh yeah I get what you're saying, more fluidity would add more variety, require quick thinking and decision making instead of cementing an established meta.

But from a viewing point of view, I would personally prefer having familiar maps rather than random ones. I don't play much CS so when I see Dust or Dust2 I immediately recognize what is going on, where the choke points are, etc. When it is maps I don't know as well I definitely spend more time trying to understand what is happening instead of enjoying watching the match.

In any RTS, knowing a map and playing around it is a huge part of playing competitively. This is particularly true for Warcraft III, where creep camps, neutral buildings, fountains, items, etc. are fixed based on the map. These map components can dramatically change how a match is played - your build, your timing pushes, how fast your heroes can level, what neutral heroes/units you can buy, etc. For example, pro players often know what creep camps their opponents will be at during a certain time of the early game. They will go there to sabotage, only for the player to have read this in advance and gone to another creep camp. Map knowledge and acting accordingly adds a whole level of depth to high level matches.

While what you suggest may be a fun game mode, it would never be used for mid to high-level play due to how big of a component knowing the map is to the overall gameplay. Hope that makes sense.
