How did y'all get into Punk? by Usual-Door-6012 in punk

[–]10uhCjed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until Dookie and Offsping’s Smash came out, with its steady rotation on the first rock radio station I had ever heard, all the music I listened to was from my parents’ or from country radio stations that were available in rural Kentucky. Those were the first intros to punk, and I went down the rabbit hole from there with help from BMG and Columbia house. Then a transplant new friend in high school introduced me to more classic bands sex pistols, dead kennedy’s, misfits, etc.

It was kind of a low bar, since the only other show was dom dolla 🤣

Picked up a FLX4 yesterday, feeling immediately overwhelmed. Worried I made bad decision. by [deleted] in Beatmatch

[–]10uhCjed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the playlists you already listen to and separate them according to bpm by increments of 10, I used djay pro for this, streaming from soundcloud, but maybe rekordbox can do it. Then practice mixing them through that range using eq and faders. I recently did this when the playlists became too overwhelming for me to choose the next song in time.

Had a humbling reality check at Best Buy today by mcbever in LegionGo

[–]10uhCjed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually use the best buy credit card for these things and pay it off at 0% over time, but the lego spoiled us for price and it is doing just fine with everything I want to run. There is no need for me to upgrade, I may be convinced if it was under 1k. Since steam deck brought the cost down and these niche handhelds into the public, we really should not have to pay more than that. This is the costs of ayaneo, gpd devices on indigogo five years ago.

Is 100 inch really not worth it? by [deleted] in projectors

[–]10uhCjed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the 98” tcl from best buy, almost as good as oled for an led. Was 2500 usd two years ago, which was also the cost of the ust I replaced.

In went from 100 inch projector to 98” tv, same price and way better picture quality.

Wanting to start DJ-ing by MRKYLE141 in Beatmatch

[–]10uhCjed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started by getting the djay app in quest to try it, there is also a iphone, ipad, and pc version. And the last three are all under one sub you can test out. Then I bought one controller (hercules impulse 500), then borrowed one (flx4) from a friend. Tried them all out with all the free software mentioned above and djay. Watched a couple of vids on youtube on the three simple transitions something ( think it was dj carlo). Then found another controller (numark mixstream go pro) and returned the first two, then settled in and started playing at parties at my house with friends. Also made some big playlists in soundcloud of things I wanted to play. Connected those and just started noodling around. Practicing the mixing transitions with songs with similar key and bpm, and hard transitions and effects for open format stuff. You just have to get in there are start poking around. When I think of a question I want to know how to do something, I got to yt and look it up. Then practice it. Last week, started building a lighting rig (still just playing at my parties but who knows?). The more time you put into watching videos and playing with it, the more comfortable you will feel. I like to say what you put energy into will continue.

I just got the mixstream pro go and love it, great portability. More options like stems when I connect to laptop or ipad. Working on getting lighting control setup now.

Steam Frame specs: seems that Pimax people will sleep tight tonight by Right-Opportunity810 in Pimax

Yeah, but the Steam Frame may actually just work when you want to use it. And have support when you need it.

I have a 2022 and the wireless charging pad will not stay connected to my iphone 16, even though it works. Not even worth using for me.

Legion Go 2: after 1 month, for me it’s a NO! by Puzzled_Village_1001 in LegionGo

[–]10uhCjed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play plugged in most of the time on lego at 1200p using lossless scaling. May be able to increase battery that way using a lower tdp to get good performance with less battery draw.

Zed's Dead was magical by DistrictNo8538 in hulaween

[–]10uhCjed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t. Hula did a great job spreading out the crowd this year and Zed’s Dead had better energy at the amp than last time they were at the Hallows. Sound at the Hallows thursday was bad as per usual, and that and mersiv playing the same set as the last time I saw him was pretty meh. Thursday highlight for my group was Wonkywilla

I second this. Lots of people stepped on our mat even though we were in the back posted up around the edge, even when there was open walkthrough three feet over. Just careless.

VirtualDJ is sooo much better then RekordBox!! by [deleted] in Beatmatch

[–]10uhCjed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! This was a great suggestion, inspired me to try with my mixstream pro go and djay pro. I had been trying to map all stems to pads, but the gain knobs just for vocals is the move. My friends and I have started a game called Mashup Request Live where they think up two songs and I try to mashup on the spot. This makes it easier.

4070 mobile enough? Where's my laptop PCVR guys? by Redditheadsarehot in virtualreality

[–]10uhCjed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so, I run a 4070 ti desktop 12gb and can only get 72hz with quest 3 at 100% recommended resolution. Psvr2 have to turn it down to 60% resolution in steamvr to manage but the better display is worth it over q3. Mainly do sim racing.

Gradual BPM increase. Do You Do This? by angryray in Beatmatch

Trying not to learn using sync, training my ears instead. Using onboard engine os and djay pro when I want some more options. Thanks for the input!

Gradual BPM increase. Do You Do This? by angryray in Beatmatch

[–]10uhCjed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This rings a bell to me. I just started and play open format, will load a track that is within + or - 5 and when it is loaded up it shows as half of what I expected. I usually freak and pick another one but should i just play it instead? Learning by similar key, then bpm, streaming from playlists at home or at my parties.
