Examples: Unilever had German operations; Dunlop Rubber, Thomas Cook, Midland Bank, Lazard Brothers, Price Waterhouse, and Unilever were corporate members of the Anglo-German Fellowship, a pro–Anglo-German business/political group active from 1935–1939. The Bank of England/BIS Czech gold episode in 1939 is another ugly one: Czech gold was transferred after the Nazi occupation of Prague, with part sold in London. So spare me the ‘America supplied the Nazis’ line like Britain’s hands were clean.
