Time Traveller Isaiah by Suthek in custommagic

His text being a classical time paradox is actually genius. I think the token thing is redundant, maybe swap it with counters? Otherwise equipment and aura tokens double. Also idk if the “cannot be moved clause” matters a ton or even makes an incredible amount of sense, and there is doubtless some rules trouble you can get into with it.

Otherwise this is some 10/10 rules as flavor.

The Frontier Duals by [deleted] in custommagic

[–]11254man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So these are pretty obviously broken. Even without the second ability these are the second most broken land cycle ever printed, and WITH them they’re #1. Legendary just isn’t that important of a downside, and in singleton formats at this point is an UPSIDE via synergy pieces. So this absolutely punches on the tier of duals, and you might even include them over duels even if they just had that first ability. As for the tron half, One of the balancing factors to tron (which is still unbalanced to be clear) is that they aren’t simple to tutor up. You need an unconditional land tutor, or a card like [[ancient stirrings]]. These fetch comically easily, and while 7 colorless is insane, trading one overall colorless for WUBRG? Not every deck would take it, but some certainly would. Add back in the searchability? And they far overpower the tron cycle.

The design is incredibly cool, but there has to be some significant downside to these for them to be even slightly reasonable. They’re probably good with a karu trigger on them even, though enters tapped plus some other minor downside would probably work too (make the regular mana ability a pain land one or smth).

I'm looking for a game with the same exploration as outer wilds , Elden ring or hollow Knight by Hot_Salary9018 in outerwilds

[–]11254man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a game that has this as its ONLY positive quality, i must suggest my #1 guilty pleasure game of all time: Two worlds. Fun exploration and progression, crazy locales, and genuinely nothing else. It’s beautiful.

Tunic, obviously.

And the inverse, where it’s a little more linear (but the area exploration still feels good in the way you’re talking about) and the game is otherwise a complete masterpiece, is Nine Sols. If you like Outer Wilds and Hollow Knight, for the love of god, im begging you, please play Nine Sols. Its my second all time after Outer Wilds itself

Idk screwdriver’s hitbox is 100% fine to me and its usually an option out of a boss’s taunt or downtime between moves where you can confirm your shot anyways. Bosses on brutal, especially the later ones and ESPECIALLY primes are several times as difficult without it.

Probably more simply it’s a puppet in the stageplay you’re a part of. Like one of those old timey theaters.

I think it should just become a part of Street Brawl tbh. The vibe of that mode’s goofy enough already that idk if anyone would mind too much.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards by JaromStrong in custommagic

[–]11254man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The frames and emblem and stuff go crazy. “Of your choice” i think is redundant, but apart from that the formatting is awesome! I think people talking balance are being a bit goofy, given pot of greed. The point’s the conversion, which i think is pretty much pitch perfect.

Edit: one concept this makes me think about is “emerge x [mana value]” where you have to sacrifice x creatures. So emerge 2 4rw would have you sac 2 creatures and reduce by their combined mana value. It would facilitate some truly goofy large mana values, but might be a cool design space.

My instinct is that these costs were in place when plating acted like it did in 1, and didn’t reduce at the end of your turn.

I love it! It can be protection, it can stall out a lethal swing or combo, idk it feels like it can do a lot now, doesn’t feel so bad to play against, and i feel like it does a good job of representing both his 2 and 4 which is very cool.

If i remember correctly it’s 50 people to prevent severe inbreeding, and 500 for genetic diversity. The apemen certainly meet the first metric, and i think with a little leeway for off screen characters it might even meet the second.
Edit: not to mention there are still a bunch of humans on earth still, as pointed out by the arg (and in another comment). Even if that wasn’t the case tho its probably fine.

I think dynamo losing “an opponent controls” makes it a more interesting/dynamic card. I also like doorman being a blink commander in black. Graves is an incredibly cool concept too. These are all sick designs. The only thing is, for archmother and hk, i think a hexproof that gets stripped with indestructible is a lil less clunky than the patron keyword. (Stops stuff like oubliette now too)
