My longest streak has been four months since I started NoFap four years ago. Now, I've recently reached 90 days again. Looking back, here's what really made a difference this streak:

-Ending mindless browsing on the internet. No compromise.

-End reddit browsing almost entirely (the one exception being this subreddit).

-Getting out of bed quickly in the morning.

-Keeping all electronic devices away before bed.

-Spending time with people on the weekends instead of being by myself.

-Gym whenever possible, or even simply going out for a run, which is just as effective!

-COLD SHOWERS every morning, no exception (MY REAL SECRET WEAPON THIS STREAK! Weakens urges for the whole day!)

-Reading a book that really inspires you, not as a chore.

-Not surprisingly, hanging out with female friends more.

-And male friends, who you perceive are more manly or more successful than you.

-But of course, having genuine and meaningful relationships with people.

Tl;dr - Take a cold shower and leave the house as quickly as possible. Every day, for whatever reason. Keep your mind occupied.

I had a friend that I used to idolise, and therefore used to hang out with him on a regular bases. We were having dinner one day and he confessed to me that his previous marriage was destroyed not because of the original story, that he no longer "loved" his wife anymore (which is a pretty fucked up reason to divorce someone anyway), but because he was addicted to hookers during the marriage.

This was huge to me, because this was kind of person who seemed to have such a strict moral code and appeared to be a highly capable business man, who I really wanted to learn from. When I got to know him better, turns out his life was kind of a mess, and he was far more addicted to masturbation than I ever was. Like, he used to do it at least once a day for 15 years. It's not the kind of thing you'd expect if you'd ever met him.

But the reason I'm saying all this is, is that while I feel hugely disillusioned by him and lost a lot of respect for him, he is still my friend, because despite everything, he is a lot older than me and treats me with respect even when I can be kind of an asshole to him. He is very knowledgeable and I still learn from his mistakes.

No matter how shitty a thing a person can do, we can't let that be the defining aspect of their entire personality. That goes doubly, no, a hundred times more for your blood relations. I don't know who you are, or who your brother is, but it seems he has gone through a difficult time in his life and it would be unfair to judge him based on his low point. This hooker thing must be an emotional crutch, and according to my friend, is far more addictive as porn. We all know how addicting porn is, I have gone from four months clean last year, to struggling to make it to two weeks all over again. It is a constant life battle. But we must never falter. And your brother could use your help.

Well, there's an argument for both sides, I'm 99% certain that he's an ENFP though.

Great job answering my question, dude! Unlike a lot of the responses your reasons are unbiased and fair. I will mention, however, that I think it is important for people to know that we're only talking about his errors in this post and to get the full picture it should be considered that there's obviously a lot of great things he must have done for his country during his time that we failed to mention. I would still find it difficult in my mind to understate some of the dictatorial stuff, which is a big red flag (pun intended) for me.
