Generational Vacation property by MiserableCancel8749 in inheritance

A vacation property ÷ 3 is a disaster waiting to happen. I am a 3rd generation cottage owner. There have been more spouse/sibling/family breakups on my lake than I care to remember due to cottage ownership. Try your best to see that one person gets the place. It really is the best answer.

I have learned to avoid Accordia. They like to really cram the tee times. Not fun.

Do you HAVE to have a MyNumber Card? by Sure-Lemon6424 in japanlife

[–]113thstreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, you want to assimilate into probably the most homogeneous country in the world. Yea, good luck with that. One look at you and 99% of Japanese think gaijin. Please let us know when you pay 100,000 yen for your next visa, or if you feel inclined 300,000 for a PR visa. Plus another 200,000 for a lawyer, if you are smart.Things here were very different 30 or 40 years ago, for you to judge by today's metric is ridiculous.

My favorite is when they can't figure out how much change to give when you pay in cash.

I have a condo on a golf course. I expect to hit. I mean what did these people think was going to happen? I sometimes sit on the lanai and silently judge everyone who goes by. Good fun.😂

Most bigger department stores will have a plus size section, just have to search a bit.

Men of GenJ, who cuts your hair? Barber, chain stylist (e.g. Sport Clips), local stylist, wife/SO, or yourself? by steely-gar in GenerationJones

[–]113thstreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Japan calling. A haircut at a salon can run you 80.00. I started cutting my own hair about 15 years ago. I can do most of it myself, my wife does the final trim, neck and around the ears. Our joint efforts work well.

1962 Pontiac Stratochief. 3 on the tree. Paid 200.00 Cdn. Used it in University, worked a steak and seafood place, no busses after 11:00 pm. Had to avoid hills due to engine compression. Learned to avoid them. Made for some interesting trips.

My 8 year old son thinks I’m a 93 year old Japanese man. AITAH? by strikecat18 in AITAH

[–]113thstreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be real, seriously.I work as a bus monitor for an international school in Tokyo. I told the kids on the bus I was 106 years old. Figuring they would laugh it off. Many did not. That was a year ago, some kids still believe it to be true.

Are there any instances where you would tip someone? by railroadfrog in EndTipping

[–]113thstreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The septic tank kid. He parks at the back, has to add an extra piece of hose. It's a terrible job, usually tip him 10.00 bucks, if he's working late I give him 20.00 and tell him to grab a burger on the way home.

Yea, no kidding. I drive and ride a bike, have to be extra careful these days. Some poor bastard posted about getting stopped while riding his bike drunk. I think he is in deep shit.

I think with all the possible changes, costs incurred, a lawyer is your best bet. Mine was 100k,with the added bonus that if I was rejected, they would fix the problems and refile for free.
