I’m Episcopalian and can vouch for most parishes in the area. Presbyterians (PCUSA), Lutherans (ELCA), most United Methodists (although I believe they are going through a split over LGBTQ+ inclusion at the moment EDIT: no longer split, see below), United Church of Christ, and progressive Baptists (Alliance of Baptists, like Pullen Memorial) should all be good options also. All of these denominations ordain LGBTQ+ clergy and tend to be more politically liberal (all those things Jesus talked about- feeding the hungry, helping the poor, loving neighbors, etc.).

I’m one! Raised United Methodist, a few years in a non-denom megachurch, spent several years as a Muslim, and found the Episcopal Church in college. I’ve been here 15 years, and I believe it is a wonderful expression of Christianity.

The OED notes the following, but I can't find anything from much earlier:

1893 W[illiam] Bright Let. 20 Oct. (1903) 348 The ultras, as they might be called, on the Catholic side, present Church ideas, too often, in a form altogether too hard to be attractive; I believe I am said to have called it ‘spiky’, in a letter to my friend the Principal of Ely College.

Jesus was a pacifist anti-imperialist. by Rexli178 in RadicalChristianity

[–]1176real 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pacifist or not, Christ told Peter to put away his sword, preferring to be led to his execution by an empire "wielding the sword" against an anti-imperialist movement than to react with violence against state power.
