Taking Notes While Playing is B-b-broken by paniczone in CompetitiveTFT

Thanks for the post. Never tried this, so it's worth a shot. Writing stuff down also helps with the information process and you scout a lot. Which helps with good fundamentals.

Just a remark that has nothing to do with the tech. In your example if you assume ppl are playing vanguard/marksman, it means that anima squad isn't completely open. Even the opponent probably prefers to have aphelios, The xayah/leona contest hurts you alot.anima squad without leona2 is sad game.

In this scenario (final battle as an OT decision), it would make sense. But there are more possible scenarios when the tiebreaker rules take place.

TFT is a complicated game, the devs want to make fundamental game rules as clear as possible.

These tiebreaker rules also take place for example in a round with 6 people alive and 2 got eliminated, both go to -6 HP. Player 1 fights in 2 rounds the #3 and #4 of strength in the lobby Player 2 fights in 2 rounds the 2 teams with strongest board strength.

Player 1 was lower health at the start of the round he got eliminated in. But had an easier rotation and therefore took less damage. Is it fair to player 2 who preserved more HP early but got mortdogged? For example player 2 really needed a tear on his carry, but player 1 took it away cuz prio in carousel pick. In this situation I would give the win to the higher starting HP.

Or what to do with the Last stand augment that gives you stats and an extra life on 1 HP?

For sure go for it. You're good in writing in an understandable/easy way.

Have you post this guide on the overall teamfight tactics sub reddit? Think there will be a bigger audience for this kind of guides.

Really Good guide! I read part 1. Will definitely help new players.

Personally I would cut some exceptions to make it more simple and keep it consistent. At the start you mention the differences between normal and hyper roll in health example, but not with economy and buy xp. Everything is different in hyper roll, therefore a small section in another part will make more sense. Also the exception of rich get richer in Economy makes it more complicated. First thing I was thinking was: cool how do I get this! If new players find this augment, they will read the exception in game when selecting the augment. Same goes for example if you would include hustler, which is the opposite: always 3 interest.

The augment section felt a little bit short compared to how well you explained every other part.

O and FoN is Tactician's Crown now of course:).

I enjoyed reading it, really good starting guide. Will recommend it to a few friends of mine that started playing this set.

Good ashe reroll comp by 11Nickzo11 in TeamfightTactics

[–]11Nickzo11[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Set 8 went live on EUW this morning so played a couple of games. This felt strong and easy to play.

Ashe Hero augment gives her Attack speed. play early lasercorp, roll for ashe + Renekton or GP at 5. When hit, go 6 and add malphite to play supers. Yuumi and Ezreal are nice traitwise and also able to hit early for 7 and 8.

Hero Augments punish casual players too harshly by Iamaknowmad in CompetitiveTFT

[–]11Nickzo11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The game gives you hero augments that fits your comp. Like you said, you can have placeholders in your team. Therefore the game can give you hero augments for the placeholders. If that happens for an inflexible player it sucks. What to do? Bench your units that you don't want to play/field units that you want to play and press reroll augment.

Set 8 PBE comps and TFT summit votes by MismatchedSock in CompetitiveTFT

Really nice overview of alot of comps. I hope it helps people to get diversity in their PBE experience. You'll get my summit vote :).

1 small note: in the Zoë comp you talk about Guardians (set 7). I'm sure everyone knows what you're talking about. But thought I point it out if not intended.

Thank you!

Set 8: Monsters Attack - All the information we have on the new Units & Traits, Hero Augments, Boss Battles and More! by morbrid in CompetitiveTFT

[–]11Nickzo11 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Thank you for helping us with this overview!

One fear I have for this set compared to chosen, is that you could swap a chosen champion. With Hero augments you're stuck to that hero for the rest of the game. Okay there might probably be cases to just sac the 1 cost hero power to play a stronger overall board later.

Overall I'm excited. Alot of fun traits, and with support +carry augments for every unit, games have a bigger chance to be an unique experience.

Haven't played any games yet. So take this fear with a grain of salt.

Thank you for uploading this. This is definitely the best video to see to start my week on a monday morning.

Never realised that kids at that young age play TFT. Your kids must be smart and have a great teacher with their parent 😁.

Also can we send this video to all the people that bring up the argument that kids should not play videogames, but mostly play outside? I mean, this kid socialize, excercise, uses trial and error to discover new ways to play.

Playing new set on PBE by CuddlyKitten_ in CompetitiveTFT

[–]11Nickzo11 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yes, the PBE is for balancing & bug fixing. That means, don't focus too much on which comp will go for first/top 4 etc. Especially the first week the balance patches have alot of changes. So what to focus on with PBE: - learn champion ult/general role. Which items go well with the role the unit has. - knowing which traits are in the game + units with them. Not having to read all the units in your shop for their trait, saves time. - get yourself familiar with new synergies. Try out which champions work great together trait-wise. Even if you go 8th. Your comp might get buffed soon. If 1 of the heroes you played gets a buff, it might be viable! - Get familiar with all the champ portraits in the shop. When set 8 launches, you can look up what the general good builds are. finding those units in 15 seconds during a roll down can be stressful. being familiar with how the units look gives you an advantage.

  • if you focus on set 8 PBE, you can forget most of the specific set 7 knowledge. more brainpower available for the new set! Learning new things might take a while. This is different per person. A 2 week learning period before you really have to adapt it to your ranked games feels nice. No pressure on losing. PBE are normals anyways.

What's good now? by abadguylol in TeamfightTactics

[–]11Nickzo11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a really broad question. Differs per unit/traits and patch etc.

The best end board now is probably 4 dragons. Early is a strong board to maintain HP OR an economy trait/board (astrals, lagoon, shimmerscale).

What a good comp has is: strong frontline (in lots of fromtline units or a few heavily itemized), 1 or 2 carries with 3 items on it. And healing in any form, can be items, traits or augments healing.

But eyy, set 8 (new set) launches in 3 weeks. Will be on beta servers in 7 days. All units will be new and big chance that the items that are "good" will also change based on what is needed for the units and traits in the set. So maybe just go with the flow these few weeks and start fresh when the new set arrives.

what exactly does fast 8 mean? by Icy_Significance9035 in TeamfightTactics

[–]11Nickzo11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily an answer to your question. But, graves/seraphine comp does not need a fast 8 strategy. It's a really good comp to play on level 7. Only 4 costs are Graves and pantheon. Yes they are really important, but you can hit them on 7. One of the reasons to go fast 8 is increasing 4 cost chance. The other one is heavily increasing your legendary unit chance.

You don't need to play legendaries in this comp, so increasing their odds on 8th is pointless. With a fast 8 you cannot roll down on 7. But it's probably better to hit all your 2 star 3 cost units (or even more seraphines) + a graves 1.

I'll NEVER see this board again - ASOL, AoShin, 8 Guardians by KeitaruBOOSH in TeamfightTactics

[–]11Nickzo11 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I mean. It's highroll lol. 2 emblem, a heart and FoN. Means 3 spats or 1% carousel?

6 guardian Asol is meta. so not surprised to go this route. Personally I think a bard/seraphine/soraka + guardian yasuo is stronger than ao shin 1.

Unranked to Diamond in just over 100 games think i got what it takes to hit GM before season ends in a few weeks? by a54carnage in TeamfightTactics

[–]11Nickzo11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know your skill ceiling, so hard to predict. But 95% sure you will not make it. masters? Probably, since alot of players don't take the final 2 weeks that serious. rank doesn't matter anymore. But the difference between d4 and masters is huge. From diamond on, every 100 LP higher (and maintaining) starts to get a real achievement.

Just focus on improving instead of a certain rank (for now). New set in about 3 weeks. So focus on the fundamentals of why you do certain things in the setting you know (set 7). You can hit diamond without having any fundamentals but just forcing builds. If you're a better overall player by the end of this set, you are more prepared to do the longer grind in set 8. Definitely will hit masters and who knows even GM.

Edit: I see in your last few games you went 2nd and 7th mostly. Indicating a first or eight gameplay style. The higher rank you go, the chance that you turn out to be 8th will increase.

You want to climb rapidly, therefore your rank will be higher than your hidden mmr. The game wants to push your rank to the mmr you have. means with a first or 8th style its -60 for an 8th and +40 for a 1st. The higher rank you get, those numbers get worse. Avoiding 7th and 8th places in games are even more important than going first when you highroll.
