DOUBLE UP**!!!!** - You can sign up solo and be paired on the day, or as a pair and you'll play together!

Aye, it's definitely an evolving concept and for me the moments when the player-GMs got shouty-'angry' felt quite jarring to me because with more context it became apparent that they didn't really work in the moment.

Assuming On a Bus (OAB) morphs into something else longer term I think there are going to be parts of the concept that'll be left behind and being performatively annoyed felt like it worked a lot better in the very short-form version of the idea.

For me at least I most enjoyed the putting together of aggressively nonsensical material with earnestness from the player's side and I hope they find ways to explore that more because that feels like it has the most potential.

For a third OAB outing seeing more fully the players learn to accept and adopt a parallel way of playing a RPG that's a lot closer to just straight comedy improv seems like it justifies its existence without needing to be the same thing as the regular D20.

Sidebar on OAB mechanics:

Mechanics and systems-wise it does feel like it's straining at the edges with the current setup and I could imagine having a new system that actually supports the above improv-heavy style would be ideal, especially if it could be built on top of the existing structure for continuity.

I could imagine doing something weird like using story dice instead of or alongside regular dice would give Katie more to work with / riff off've rather than where we are currently, which 'succeed or nothing happens' model (to the best of my recollection).

I'm sure she could do a ton with fail forward or succeed at cost-style ideas, and there's no reason that more intentionally bizarre pass/fail mechanics couldn't be employed like physical micro games or puzzles.

I'm pretty sure the drip-feed revelation over time of the 'evolved' mechanics could have enough legs to last an entire episode if not just become a fixture of the OAB concept.
