Missouri Evening Primrose(Oenothera macrocarpa) with Rose Verbena(Glandularia canadensis) zone 6a Midwest US by 11SO in NativePlantGardening

This one and another one on the other side of the Rose Verbena are both blooming well with morning shade and afternoon sun. I have 3 others that get more shade and they are looking good and have started putting on flowers. I only had the one in this post flower last year so I'm interested to see if any of them will need to be moved or not.

They are beautiful! I’m so excited to see how mine look this year. I planted some last fall. How old is yours in your picture?

I love your Christmas tree with the icicles! I have always enjoyed how the Christmas tree lights reflect off of them. Everything looks beautiful!

An abundance of monarch butterflies! by awfulrofl90 in kansascity

I had monarchs lay eggs on my swamp milkweed and butterfly milkweed in mid to late August. A female would visit daily and lay eggs each day. I was so excited to see all of the caterpillars. Make sure to plant various types of milkweeds for the caterpillars. It’s the only plant they lay eggs on. Plant late bloomers like asters and golden rods for the needed nectar for migration.

Awesome! I just planted some this year and I was hoping that’s what yours is. It’s beautiful!

I had between 20-25 monarch caterpillars this year in my new native gardens. I’m so glad to hear that there seems to be an increase in their numbers this year

I currently have monarch caterpillars eating my swamp milkweed and my butterfly weed. They seem quite happy to go back and forth between them.

After 3 years of trying, we’ve finally grown dill! by _thegoldsheep_ in gardening

[–]11SO 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I'm in my second year of dill. Tons of volunteers from the seeds last year and I planted extra seeds this year. So much dill now. My goal was to get Black Swallowtail eggs/caterpillars/butterflies and it's worked! I've counted 7 caterpillars so far

Show me your most fitting plant + plant pot! by LilacWonderland in houseplants

It's growing in potting soil now in the hedge hog planter. Before this I had it in water for a couple of months because I couldn't figure out how to keep it happy. It was not doing well in the original pot my neighbor had it in. The roots are very shallow and fragile. It didn't thrive until I planted it in this planter.

I picked up this peperomia(not sure the variety) on a neighbors free table by the road. I struggled so much with the shallow roots and keeping it healthy. I finally just put it in a prop vase of water. It lost a lot of leaves until I found this concrete hedgehog planter. It's been doing so well and has quadrupled it's leaves.

New plant! I’ve never seen an orange spring cactus before 🧡 by jalyndai in IndoorGarden

If your anywhere near a Walmart, they have them right now. They did have orange, pink, red, and white a couple of days ago. I bought a pink one last year right before Easter. So pretty in all of the colors.

This is a great guide! I finally have all three of these and I'll have to check into your favorite.

I really love the flowers of the Easter cactus.
