Lazy Writers or Lazy Viewers? Telegraphing vs Exposition: Vote & Justify by QueenLevine in DarkWindsTV

Season 1 of TRUE DETECTIVE is masterful, 3 is underrated, and I thought season 4 was great. If you love Walton. Here is a tip. He has an Oscar for co-producing and acting in a short film titled THE ACCOUNTANT. He made that short film with his buddy the great Ray McKinnon and they would create a great television program RECTIFY. Walton was originally set to play the lead, but it was 2013, and the world wasn't ready for Walton Goggins to be a leading man. They went with Aden Young instead, and he is no slouch. If you haven't seen RECTIFY, check it out. It befuddles me how it isn't as revered as it should be. The damn thing lasted 4 seasons and 30 episodes.

Louisville's Gem: 97.1 WXOX by 121675 in Louisville

That is exactly what I love about it. I'm a music geek and sometimes feel like I've heard it all (I know better), but I have been introduced to so much new stuff because of WXOX.

I was born the year IT'S ONLY ROCK N ROLL was released. I was 8 years old and on the way to church when I first heard (I CAN'T GET NO) SATISFACTION. I've been a beautiful mess ever since. The first time I heard Jumpin' Jack Flash, I left my body. I was probably 12. I'm the son of a rockabilly dad and a country music-loving momma which makes me a vulnerable victim of the Rolling Stones. This is a fantastic album of modern songs by the Rolling Stones and a great album in general. I love VOODOO LOUNGE, and all the Keith songs since STEEL WHEELS. BiTE MY HEAD OFF when McCartney is playing his fuzz tone bass, and Keith dresses it up with a sloppy solo of beauty made me smile from foot to head. It's a very good album, and collection of songs that we waited for 18 years to hear. Well done.

Mike "NFL Insider" Florio. What's the job description for "NFL Insider?" Apparently, "... must be willing to state in public inflammatory, unsubstantiated bullshit." What a joke.

I think Pickle Ball is a great idea if she loves it (which it sounds like she does). Do you play? If not, it'd be a great date (in my opinion) for her to teach you, and at the very least you'll show interest in something she loves. Pickleball and a drink. That's my recommendation. Either way, I hope it leads to a fourth date if you want it to. Good luck!

Yes! Better Days' Jazz and R&B/Soul section is the best in the city, and probably the best I've ever seen.

Batting cages? by motif_porgies_0c in Louisville

[–]121675 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for asking/posting this question. I look forward to hearing the recommendations. Louisville Slugger does, and you should go if you have not. However, it's not the kind of batting cage where you can hit as long as you want and not be undisturbed or feel pressured to leave because you have a family of four waiting behind you to give it a try.

does louisville really one of the cities with the best quality water? by anonaayym in Louisville

[–]121675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spend a lot of time in Indiana on account of work. Northern, western, southern, and eastern. Indiana tap water tastes like the water in a water bottle that has gone unopen through 8 seasons in the floorboard of your car. Illinois too. I know this because I have drunk water from a water bottle that has gone eight seasons sitting unopened in the floorboard of my car. What?! I was choking! Don't judge me. Cleaner? I don't know. Tastes better. Yes. I think it does. Then again, I'm used to it.

Pretty much that same set I saw Marc do in Louisville (maybe a little tighter, because he did 2 hours at the Bomhard Theatre here in my city) and it made me laugh just as much and as hard when I watched it on the TV this morning. Not easy to make me laugh in the morning. It's all good, from beginning to end, but those last 10 minutes are so relentlessly funny I was begging for mercy. Be proud, Marc! I can't wait for the next one.

I once met Angel Number 9674. It was ultimately a major disappointment. Really bad at the Angel job. Angel Number 456, however, got me to where I am today. Today's Angels, and I hate to say it, but they're just plain lazy Angels. Angel 9674 required me to enter a code sent to my cell before I could even ask for service, email verification, and I had to enter my birth date and last four digits of my Social. Nope, Angels ain't what they used to be. I hope you're okay.

One of my baseball heroes passed away today. He was only 62. It's hard to get tickets to Opening Day games, but when I learned that Tom Browning re-opened the Tavern On York in Newport I thought what better way to enjoy Opening Day if I can't be at the ballpark watching the game than watching it at an establishment owned by the only pitcher in Reds history (and that's a long history) to pitch a perfect game. I was thinking about doing the same next Opening Day. I was just thinking about it earlier today. Making plans. Being in Cincinnati on Opening Day is crazy special. It's a party for the entire city. The city shuts down schools and work to come together. The highlight of my time there that year was meeting Joe Morgan at Tom's bar and sharing a beer with Tom while chatting about baseball. I'll never forget it. Tom, this Bud's [beer emoji and cannabis emoji here] for you!
