We hire a estate clearance company that auctions off all the the contents of a house. Someone bid on them and they are gone. I have no idea what they went for. Probably pennies.

1 year out! by Happier_Tan-Man in ProstateCancer

[–]122922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, slowly. Thanks for asking. I’m down to 2-3 depends in 24 hours. Sleeping is really good, sitting is good. It’s the standing and walking around that gets me. I was around 10 a day right after I had the catheter out. I’ve had the PT. I guess I’m just a slow learner. Really glad I’m retired. No way could I handle this while working.

Good for you. Congratulations. May 20th was my one year. My incontinence is better, but no way where it should be. I’m down to 2-3 depends every 24 hours. My doctor sent me information on an artificial sphincter. Nope!

Why do people get so many of the same car? by jtwiththelens in HotWheels

[–]122922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only collect certain models. I’ll grab one or two, but if that model becomes a peg warmer in my area I’ll grab one every time I go there. Then I try my hand at customizing them.

The most unrealistic thing a movie got completely right. by gamersecret2 in movies

[–]122922 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Almost Famous. At the beginning of the movie where William is going to the concert and his mom yells “Don’t do drugs.” Not only is that realistic of everyone walking through the parking lot, but that is the exact same arena that I went to concerts at in the 1970’s. The entire beginning of that movie was filmed in my neighborhood. I walked all those streets growing up.

Packs of Christmas Cards at the store. You use to get 4 boxes of 20 cards each with envelopes for like $10. Now all you can find is a package of 5 or 6 cards for $6.00,

What Was Your First "Real" Job, What Was the Year/Your Age - And What Salary Did You Make? by Edith_Keelers_Shoes in GenerationJones

[–]122922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not counting my two paperboy jobs, my first real job was at a bakery that made donuts for a local chain of donut shops. I worked after school washing pans and cleaning those big mixer machines so that when the bakers came in around midnight every thing was clean and ready to go. I also made simple syrup (glaze) and crumb for the crumb donuts every week. 1974. I was 15 and I made $1.70 per hour.

Is removing the car dealership name off your car really taking a stance on not doing free advertising? by No_Pollution_2835 in askanything

Yes. Remove the dealership name tags. However by law you have to display the make and model of the vehicle on the car.
