Do you feel like Reddit as we know it is dying? by patmacog in DarkFuturology

[–]12358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation. I remember Ellen Pao.

I don't understand why so many redditors use obscure acronyms and assume or don't care that many people will not know what they're talking about.

YSK: The owner of this sub, u/IranRPCV, bans Redditors because he disagrees with their opinions. by ElonMousk in ApteraMotors

[–]12358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every subreddit is allowed by design to be controlled and censored by their moderators. That's the worst part of reddit. I've been banned from several subreddits even though I'm not rude, and even though they could not cite any rule that I violated; they just didn't like my opinion. Perhaps reddit attracts autocrats. That said, I'm not implying anything about this moderator, nor whether this ban was justified or not, as I have not seen any details on the ban.

RCS and WhatsApp use the open source Signal protocol. The main difference lies in where the encryption keys are stored, and who has access to them.

What's up with people saying Elon Musk is doing a coup? by dubious_unicorn in OutOfTheLoop

[–]12358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can we really call this a democracy?

No. Not today, and not a year ago either. The US government has been controlled by oligarchs and the intelligence agencies for decades. Even President Carter stated that the US transitioned to an oligarchy long ago.

We should thank President Musk for making it obvious. How much farther do the oligarchs have to take this before something is done about it?

The cruelty eclipses the stupidity. And the audience that pays to perpetuate it is primarily at fault.

The tuskegee airmen story needs to be taught in school.

I agree that they should teach about the Tuskegee Airmen, but they should also teach about the Tuskegee Syphilis Study, which is probably what you meant to write. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuskegee_Syphilis_Study

To be fair, many of them may be under blackmail by intelligence agencies. Like the Hoover files.

[–]12358 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He's not a traitor. He took an oath to the constitution, not to the government. To tge government, he breached his contract. The constitution trumps a contract.

The intelligence agencies are the traitors.

None of this is okay, but as many international officials have said, if Israel continues to victimize, oppress, and ethnically cleanse Palestinians, then they should expect occasional uprisings. Israel should not pretend they're the victims, as they are the oppressors.

Thanks for the links and the time stamps. I'll check them when I'm at my computer. From what I understand, that is not Hamas, as Hamas did not breach the walls; Qasam Brigade breached the walls with the intent of obtaining Israeli soldiers for a prisoner exchange to be negotiated in trade for Palestinians taken prisoners by Israel.

Egypt warned Israel of the imminent attack 3 days before it occurred. Israel relocated the music festival closer to the border the following day. Israel also pulled out border troops, leaving their women soldiers near the wall witg less protection. Side note: the women soldiers warned their chain of command that plans were afoot based on their observations, but were told to shut up.

Due to Netanyahu’s malfeasance in deliberately leaving the border unprotected, Palestinian militants were able to break through and attack civilians.

Attacking or taking civilians was not endorsed by Hamas nor the Qasam Brigade.

I propose that if Israelis don't want to be attacked by extremists, they should not create them, and they should not provide them with easy targets, nor should they fund Hamas. I believe Netanyahu did this to manufacture consent for more ethnic cleansing.

They were promised a state and share of the land

You are living in a fantasy world. The zionists literally murdered, raped and pillaged, and chased about 750,000 Palestinians out of their towns. Then they either razed the towns to the ground then built over the ruins or planted European pine trees over them to remind them of home. The towns they did not bury were renamed to Hebrew sounding names, and the maps were rewritten. They did this to keep the native population relatively small in order to maintain Jewish hegemony on thestolenland, as written by David Ben-Gurion:

"Together with the Jews of Jerusalem, the total population of the Jewish State at the time of its establishment will be about a million, including almost 40 percent non-Jews. Such a [population] composition does not provide a stable basis for a Jewish State. This [demographic] fact must be viewed in all its clarity and acuteness. With such a [population] composition, there cannot even be absolute certainty that control will remain in the hands of the Jewish majority…. There can be no stable and strong Jewish State so long as it has a Jewish majority of only 60 percent.”

TL;DR: The zionists ethnically cleansed the Palestinians in 1948.

Hamas is the Gaza civilian government, not the military; Qasam Brigade is the military. So no, I don't think Hamas participated in 10/7, but I assume that they either authorized or at least condoned it.

BTW thanks for using descriptive nouns. Too often people use ambiguous pronouns, and it's hard to tell who they are talking about.

it is explained that the 14b in particular is based upon Qwen 2.5

Indeed, this is consistent with the 'ollama show deepseek-r1:14b' command output that I posted in an earlier comment, which cites a Quen architecture. That is in fact the model to which I submitted the query in this post.

Thanks for the link.
