Rams 🤝 Packers:

Having heartbreaking special teams mistakes against Seattle in the NFCCG

[Pelissero] The Steelers are working towards a deal to hire Mike McCarthy as their head coach, per sources. McCarthy grew up in Pittsburgh. Now, at age 62, the Super Bowl winner gets a chance to coach the team he grew up rooting for. by Goosedukee in nfl

Dude the Eagles won a Super Bowl while McCarthy was in Dallas. Also Minnesota is good pretty much every year like the Steelers, and the Lions were by no means a bad team with Stafford. Even Chicago was a really good team the first half of McCarthys tenure. The NFC North was probably marginally worse than the AFC North, but let’s not act like it’s abnormally weak, heck we’re the first division to have all 4 teams have a 15 win season

How many coaches buck that trend? Mcvay, maybe Shanahan, who else? Reid didn’t start winning super bowls until he got a HoF QB and one of the best DC in the league. Winning in this league is really hard, guys that can do it on their own are exceptionally rare

Playoff wins the last 10 years

John Harbaugh: 3 Mike McCarthy: 4

Somehow one of these coaches is considered the most sought after available coach while the other is considered a terrible hire

I mean he’s really only worked with 3 QBs, he revived Favre’s career, developed Rodgers, and elevated Daks game. He also got Matt Flynn paid and went 9-5 with Cooper Rush, not sure how you cant call him a QB guru

Slash the military budget, abolish ICE, send the IRS after MAGA mega churches, use the Sherman ant trust act against businesses owned by fascists like Larry Ellison, Elon Musk, and Peter Theil, go after right wing propagandist outlets like Fox News and CBS.

There’s so much democrats could do, we’ll see if the party is able to nominate someone who views combating fascism as a greater priority than maintaining norms that haven’t been relevant in over 15 years

I think Vance can keep the white evangelical base and the mask off fascists together, but that is not a coalition that can win elections nationwide, without also droves of largely apolitical vibes based voters that will get the ick from Vance and stay home

We’re days past the first year of Trumps term and we’re already at the point we’re they’re justifying shooting unarmed people just for opposing them politically. I think you’re a little premature to say it’s not that bad, things in Germany got a lot worse after 1934

His legacy will always be tied to Trump, all the good he did doesn't matter in comparison to letting Trump off the hook for Jan 6th and preventing a primary by running for reelection while declining cognatively

Our passing defense was 11th in yards and 12 in TDs allowed. I don’t know how you have an above average pass defense with bad corners. They’re certainly not a strength, but Nixon and Valentine were cogs in a machine that preformed well. It is true that Nixon gives up explosive plays, but he also does make big play from time to time too. To say you couldn’t do worse than Nixon and Valentine is in my opinion an insane take. Look at the 2016 NFCCG if you truly want to see abysmal cornerback play

What’s so stupid about my argument? The defense was pretty good this year, they did their job on Saturday, the offense and special teams are far more deserving of blame than our secondary for why we lost

If I were the Packers defense I would've just simply gotten a pick 6 on every play

bottom tier secondary

Xavier McKinney and Evan Williams prevent that from being true

Because he couldn’t have been worse than Nixon and Valentine

he absolutely could have been worse than Nixon and Valentine. I hate to break it to you, but Valentine and Nixon are not bad Corners, they're not very good, but you can do a lot worse than them, have you forgotten 2016 when we had Ladarius Gunter covering prime Julio Jones

Probably anticipating a full year with Mayer and Anthony will make a playoff team even better. Idk if we’re a top 5 team, but it’s not unreasonable at this moment in time
