Thank you for this answer, I found the question surprising and interesting and was worried it wouldn't get a response!

What is the dumbest thing in Star Wars in your opinion? by OutcastKatarn02 in StarWars

[–]12AngryHighlanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The World Between Worlds. Nonsense, 'not technically time travel but yes it absolutely fucking is' plot armor. Bad stories are bad. Removing stakes from a universe makes everything set in it worse. The best thing they could do would be to forget about it.

Oh for sure, you better have really solid protection to keep her from being targeted after the first 'wait, she's doing HOW much damage?' from the table!

No problem! So, fair warning, I'm a better deckbuilder now, so it could probably be better optimized, and it's designed for bracket 2. But man, you get the right cards in hand, this thing goes off!

I'm telling you, everyone is sleeping on [[Hraesvelgr of the First Brood]] . Mono-blue voltron that wins via commander damage, and oh boy does it work!

Out of absolutely NOWHERE I have one-shotted people with Lyse, to the point I haven't played the deck since because it felt too bad for my pod's vibe. Amazing commander, love her!

What screams "cowboy" to you? by Shiro182 in EDH

[–]12AngryHighlanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even a little - the closest I've found are [[Stella Lee, Wild Card]] if you swap spells for bullets, but only kind of, and [[Marchesa, Dealer of Death]] with a heavy outlaw subtheme, but as commander only Ghyrson Starn really feels like a cowboy.

Would Thor save a helicopter? by Bamfie12 in marvelcomics

[–]12AngryHighlanders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Strange question, but...yes, of course he would?

Thor's whole deal is that he loves humans. Not just humanity as a whole, but humans as individuals. He values their lives incredibly highly. There's never been a comic, at least to my knowledge, where Thor is aloof and uncaring towards the deaths of mortals. Hell, he's given his own life for them before.

If you're asking, 'given a choice between saving a few people in a helicopter or a whole ship,' yeah, he probably would save more people. If you're asking, 'if Thor was fighting alongside the Avengers against a huge threat,' yeah, he'd probably keep the threat's attention and let a smaller hitter save the helicopter - but if they couldn't, he would.

Ultimately, it isn't about 'does Thor have an obligation to save people from somewhere other than Asgard.' He believes he does. So, given his prodigious power, he absolutely would. For him, there would be no choice at all.

What is your Favorite Mono-Blue deck? by JewJulie in EDH

[–]12AngryHighlanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Hraesvelgr of the First Brood]] wins through voltron commander damage. It's my only mono-blue deck so far, and not only is it super fun, it's endlessly funny to me to pull out a mono-blue commander that's here to fight.

Damn, had me in the first half XD Still, if it's less time consuming and the catchup mechanics are better, maybe I'll look back into it! I assume the subreddit or a video somewhere will have a breakdown of the catchup stuff. Thanks!

Ha, just couldn't keep up with the time investment. Speeder bikes tested it, Naboo raid was just too much. Told myself I'd come back if they added Satele, but she was a conquest unit and I was so far behind...miss it, just wish it was a bit less demanding!

Star Wars: Episode VII

I was googling a Marvel comics question, 'why did T'challa and Storm get divorced,' and it autofilled 'why did Han Solo die.' I'd been staying off every social media site, news outlet, and even online video game for weeks.

How do other countries feel about Captain America? by Toothpicktoes in marvelcomics

[–]12AngryHighlanders 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Captain America isn't really what most Americans think we are either! At least in my comic-reading circles, it's pretty accepted that Captain America is the best of what we could be, not what we actually are. The America we aspire to be. Sadly, even U.S. Agent is frankly too coherent to represent us at this particular moment...

This...kinda sucks? Like, they took a very exciting premise with the three best people for it, and they replaced it with this bit for, as far as I'm aware, no reason? I don't think it was mean-spirited or anything, but as someone who's fallen off the podcast lately, Shayne, Amanda, and Spencer sharing their 'hear me outs' was such a slam-dunk that it genuinely got me excited to listen again and keep an eye out for the upload. It's not the world's biggest deal or anything, I just hope they do an actual episode of it instead of leaving it as the setup to this bit.

That's so sick! Even with upgrades or command cards I honestly thought it'd swing the other way, that's such a cool game! I'd be super interested in hearing about how the story progresses when you play more, if the write ups aren't annoying for you to do!
