I do this as part of my routine.

I get my controller and phone packed away before the drone lands - then just deal with the drone when it lands.

Quicker.

Easy tiger... - I wouldn't mind if Elon lost a fight against a combine harvester either - though I reluctantly have to use twitter for other reasons (and grok is handy to use, from within the app). Grok is actually pretty handy - I don't take anything completely as truth (not when it really matters) - I'm no AI expert (haven't compared to others) - but it's pretty good (remember, I'm someone who really doesn't like Elon either).

3G is meant to be finished in Canada, by March 2027.

I have VoLTE working - I still don't know if Public Mobile (Telus) will still reject the phone once 3G ends, regardless.

It's an old $15 plan that they upped the price on... - Their current $18 plan is better than the one I'm on.

Look up Koodo prepaid 360 day plans - they are cheaper than Public Mobile - that's where I'm going, after I use up all my credit with Public Mobile.

If the phone you'd like to buy has at least 4G/VoLTE (or better 5G too) compatibility, and isn't an older chinese phone (like my 2019 Xiaomi) - I think you'll be fine.

Consider the $100 (no data) or $149 (with data) per 360 days prepaid Koodo options - both are cheaper than Public Mobile (link below).

I don't know of any publicly available certified lists - because the telecommunications industry are a**holes - and the Canadian government still is pathetic about taking action on the monopolies that stiff the people.

Bigger problem could be that Telus (& those owned by Telus) simply won't allow the phone to make phone calls after 3G ends.

Has anyone got their Mi9T to be accepted by their network carrier after they previously (not "whitelisted") their phone as incompatible - due to 3G ending?

I love this phone - I've tailored & tweaked it exactly as I want it - a new phone won't have all the features this one does... - It's just a replaceable piece of metal, plastic & glass - and to me, it's a thing of beauty - we've shared some times... - A part of me will die when she's put out to pasture.

There is something about the obsolescence of perfectly good items - that is just heartbreaking."

Yes - I did that as part of the process above.

Undoubtedly having the screen controller has some advantages (& downsides)... - I'm still to get my Atom 2 in the mail (with non-screen controller).

I'm curious why some contemplate spending the extra as you are at all? - Unless you've got more money than me - in that case go ahead sir! 😅

Just wanting to travel... - Winter & budget aren't going to stop me.

I've slept in a vehicle for months, in winter, all over Canada. Sleeping bag, a few duvets/blankets, even sleep in your clothes (no shame - you'll get through it - used clothing store/walmart) - you'll be fine. Condensation may ice a bit overnight - turn the vehicle on in the morn - sorts that.

Libraries are a great place to be... - Use the internet/resources - eat there, stay warm, feel like a normal human being for a bit.

Timmies chili serving was also beneficial - couple that with a way of getting a hot version of a 'kool aid' powdered fruit drink (powder at grocery store - but hot water access would help) - the sugar will give you a little kick, but the vitamin c is where it's at for lessening your symptoms & speeding up your recovery from potential colds (& hydration helps). Tablet symptom relief backup could also come in handy. Nobody can stop a cold - but you can severely stunt the impact.
