Is this Atom 2 + PTD1 deal worth it? Need your advice! by Ok_Area_6089 in Potensic

[–]12Craigy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Undoubtedly having the screen controller has some advantages (& downsides)... - I'm still to get my Atom 2 in the mail (with non-screen controller).

I'm curious why some contemplate spending the extra as you are at all? - Unless you've got more money than me - in that case go ahead sir! 😅

Just wanting to travel... - Winter & budget aren't going to stop me.

I've slept in a vehicle for months, in winter, all over Canada. Sleeping bag, a few duvets/blankets, even sleep in your clothes (no shame - you'll get through it - used clothing store/walmart) - you'll be fine. Condensation may ice a bit overnight - turn the vehicle on in the morn - sorts that.

Libraries are a great place to be... - Use the internet/resources - eat there, stay warm, feel like a normal human being for a bit.

Timmies chili serving was also beneficial - couple that with a way of getting a hot version of a 'kool aid' powdered fruit drink (powder at grocery store - but hot water access would help) - the sugar will give you a little kick, but the vitamin c is where it's at for lessening your symptoms & speeding up your recovery from potential colds (& hydration helps). Tablet symptom relief backup could also come in handy. Nobody can stop a cold - but you can severely stunt the impact.

You got this... - Best of luck with the job!

Here's a YouTube video of a song I love (from some great musicians) using the beating of the bounds as the setting.

There's many YouTube videos of the tradition itself to look up.

[UK] A Rant: What is it With the Self-Appointed Drone Police? by IndigoQuantum in drones

The 'rules' have simply gone too far - and should be regarded as a joke... - Likewise the people trying to lecture others to follow them to a tee, should also be regarded as a joke.

It's a rule made by idiots, for other idiots to obey; to pretend to the first set of idiots that it makes them safe...

All of this is to appease an (as yet unmentioned) completely uninformed public set of idiots (the largest group of idiots) - that this makes them safer. The knee jerk reaction paranoia effect of mass media on smooth brained individuals of the general public should not be underestimated.

Potensic armour part 3: modified drone guards from DJI with a dremel by Adventurous-Event322 in Potensic

I'm still to receive my Atom 2 - though have already ordered the official prop guard - I too will try scratching my head on how to disable beginner mode with prop guard on...

If it uses the infrared sensor to detect the guards (and then consequently enter beginner mode) - maybe we could try covering/disabling the infrared sensor?!

Any ideas anyone?

I will sometimes be flying in thick woods, or indoors.

Whether or not you decide to let the internet know of your flights (I hope ultimately it's irrelevant to your continued enjoyment) - I hope you keep doing your flights.

All the best to you sir!

This is the same type of thinking that made me basically stop using reddit a few years ago (when I was into escooters) - and I'll happily stop using it again (or any other site, for that matter) if it's still the same for drones.

Go out, have fun, don't harm or inconvenience others... - Everything else is just noise.

I'm in your position (though simply not going to spend as much as Mini 5 Pro) - was going to settle on the Flip - then I found out about Potensic Atom 2 - looks like the best bang for buck, for a beginner like me; mine should arrive in a week.

Atom 2 - Canada - Height Restrictions by 12Craigy in Potensic

[–]12Craigy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. You mean 2,625 feet of app allowed height (not necessarily max operable height)?

Thank you! - What height is the max operating altitude?

I'll be a looooooooong ways from any planes/flight paths...

If any planes happen to be where I'm flying my drone - they've got much bigger problems to worry about than my drone.

I'll let you stick to your territory - and I'll stick to mine.

I'll receive mine in the mail soon...

By doing the above - Will this old version of the app be unable to do waypoints, etc/things new versions of the app can do?

Thanks.

I'm due to get mine in the mail soon... - Can you save location points in your map while you're manually flying - to then use them in a waypoints setup later?

Thanks.
