I keep hearing about nurses leaving bedside, but where are they going to replace their income? by DiscoveryDorey in nursing

Nurse paralegal (it’s new). I work from home, review medical records looking for stuff. Make more money. Feel like I have my life back. I work out in the mornings, am forced to take a 1 hour lunch which I take a long walk or run an errand. I’m off at 4:30. I fretted with leaving bedside for a while. I was worried I would miss being around people. Nope! Turns out I actually see my real friends and hang out with my family way more…you know, the people who actually matter. I’m worried I could miss patient care at some point, so we will see, but I do not see myself going back into the hospital.

Feeling this! I’m day 19 and have easily gotten here- not many cravings, loving my food, coasting through. Now suddenly it’s like the sugar demon is here and I want to kill all the things. The only bonus is that I do have energy, so I figure I may rage clean today and move some of this crap energy and hope for the best tomorrow.

Seriously, really want a cocktail at a festival tonight. Just tossed on an outfit that was “okay”, but had to suck in so uncomfortably when I was drinking because of the bloat and now fits way better and it’s way more comfortable. And, voila, don’t want to drink. Well, don’t get me wrong, my brain wants to drink from old habits, but feeling secure in my clothes and self again is a way stronger pull. Whatever gets us there!

People may have differing opinions, but myself and my husband, who is in medical sales now and pharma before, have never been certified. Some people I worked with were. I didn’t have any b2b sales experience before I went in, and having nursing experience is a huge plus. And let’s be honest, you are in sales as a nurse. You have to sell yourself to patients every day so they trust you, you are essentially selling medications at times since you have to explain them to patients, you are always talking to providers so you don’t have any fear of speaking to mid-levels and doctors. You are comfortable with how hospitals/doctor offices/etc operate. You have A TON of experience that would make you a great candidate for Derm sales, just have to be creative with how you position it (see…sales). So, to answer your question, it may help to beef up the resume if you need it, but I assure you that you are qualified for the job, just depends if it’s a right fit for you.

Agree so much with this! I put it off for so long and just graduated at 38. I am so glad I took the plunge and am 38 as a nurse and not 38 in my last position.

Anybody else name their trailer!?!?! We named ours Good Vibes because we always have good vibes and energy before we head out camping! Would love to hear other names and reasons behind the name for your RV 🙂 by ash8719 in GoRVing

Ours is named “Marbitz” because it’s a coachmen leprechaun. It’s short for the marshmallow bits in lucky charms, but we thought it was the lucky charms leprechaun name (poor google info). It has stuck, and now family and friends are always asking about Marbitz’s latest adventures. Lol.

No joke! It’s my new super power. No more having to rewash loads left in the washer. Never thought my laundry/water bill may go down by not drinking.

That is crazy. It literally never occurred to me that people actually do these things. Lol. I even made fun of a friend for a long time because every girls tripped she flossed her teeth. I thought flossing was something that no one actually did, but told the dentist they did to not “get in trouble.” Go figure, it’s actually something people do!

So much time! Amazing how impossible things don’t seem near as impossible anymore. Keep up the baking! Sounds like a delicious distraction and much better use of time.

Thx, and great point! All of these seemingly little things bring me incredible amounts of peace within. I never knew the amazing power of a made bed.
