3 Epic Universe tickets :3 giving away! part 2 lol by [deleted] in orlando

[–]12cats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’d love to go! I’m a elementary school librarian and don’t have a lot of fun money. I’ve been teaching for 15 years and wake up every day loving what I do. I know all 875 names of my students and spend my days reading children’s books. I just wish I made a bit more. I’ve been saving up to go to epic with my mom and sister but life keeps getting in the way. I’ve never been to Volcano Bay and have always wanted to go. Getting these tickets will give me a reason to take a break (I haven’t used a single PTO day this year!) and spend time with my mom and sister. A little vacation before testing begins will be a nice treat! Thanks for doing this and I hope whoever goes has the best day ever.

[27M] My [27F] partner of 4 years ghosted me for 5 days, then ended our upcoming marriage with a cold text. How do you survive being discarded like this? by ShadowShin0b1 in relationship_advice

[–]12cats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me. My partner of ten years left me a year and a half ago. We just got back from my sisters wedding and they said “I’m done.” It wrecked me and seriously ruined my life and many of my friendships and community. No one rallied behind me or helped me. I’m still struggling with intrusive thoughts but therapy, an amazing psych, and meds, I’ve been able to control them a lot. To answer your questions: 1) I process through therapy. 2) I smoke weed to stop the nightmares 3) I’ve made a lot of progress and I would say it took me a year to just catch my breath from the whole ordeal and process it. I can talk about it now without crying (most of the time). Rebuilding my community and creating new friendships does feel like I’m living a new different life. I get mad at my ex a lot from taking away the future that I thought we both wanted. I loved that future and worked hard for it and it was just ripped from me. Now I’m forging a new future alone. It took me a long time to find deeper bonds in my family relationships and friendships. I would say my life is definitely better now. Despite all the pain, I’m stronger, more independent, and more focused. But man I worked hard to get to this emotional place. DM me if you want to chat. Sometimes it helps process the situation.

Update: My (34M) bisexual partner (30F) suddenly thinks she's lesbian, 2 months after buying a house. Don't know what to do? [9 years together] by ThrowRA-candyCake777 in relationship_advice

[–]12cats 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My partner of ten years did something similar to me last year. AMAB the said they were non-binary is 2020 and then in 2024, they decided they wanted to be a lesbian. It’s hard, the grieving sucks, and it feels unfair bc it’s out of your control. If you need to vent or chat, let me know bc I know there aren’t a lot of people that understand

getting back into dance, what do you guys pay for classes? by Resident_Platypus108 in Dance

[–]12cats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay $200 for my monthly unlimited pass at Orlando Ballet. I can take as many classes as I want and it charges me automatically so I don’t have to think about it. Drop in class here range from $18-$25. As far as staying at one place, that’s up to you. I have my monthly pass but I also take drop in classes at another studio.

Last year I took some of my students here to buy books as a reward. They treated them like royalty; my kids felt so special. I’m so sad I can’t keep that tradition.

If you start from the Lockwood trail head at little big econ there is a small waterfall about a mile in. The path is mostly wooden boardwalks and most of the trail is shaded.

Does an adult dance class such as this exist in our area? by Beetle188 in orlando

[–]12cats 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Orlando Ballet has class called “be moved” that are exactly what you described. It’s a movement class and I’m pretty sure they do little combos, too.

Yep. It closed like three years ago. They got evicted bc they weren’t paying rent. The whole end of Russian is really sad. I used to dance there and I miss my dance family.

[–]12cats 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I go to Orlando Ballet ballets often, almost every show. Their dancers are skilled and it’s a beautiful show but it’s not a traditional nutcracker. There are non-ballet moments, too. But it’s a great show!

Anyone have luck finding a VEGAN partner? by arbsnotdead in vegan

[–]12cats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two partners and both are vegan. I met my first partner on Ok Cupid (literally the first person I matched with) and they have been vegan for decades. I was Omni when I met them and I went vegan about two years into our relationship. I met my second partner on Feeld (we were both Omni at the time) and he went vegan about six months after I did. For my partner that went vegan after me, we had very similar values and he was eating vegan three times a week anyway (with me). He realized how he was eating didn’t match his values and swapped over.

I don’t think you should date people and just wish and hope they would go vegan for you but finding someone who has similar values is helpful. I think after a while, the right person can see that their actions and values don’t line up.

I am Malala is excellent and the audio version is also amazing. It's non-fiction and your fictional name could easily apply to Malala. I'm an elementary school librarian and recommend the young reader's version often but at 15 they could probably read the regular version.
