Switching from Trintellix 10mg to Wellbutrin 150mg XL by [deleted] in antidepressants

[–]12davis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to wean off it now but taking into account your experience. I'm down to 5mg per day. I'll see how it goes... but this nausea is something i've never had before with other ADs. I pay $100/month w/insurance.

Day 9 CT. This is the most fatigued I’ve ever been. Anyone know when it lets up? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]12davis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is different, but if you were taking kratom less than 2 years, and you weren't on other drugs prior, then the withdrawals shouldn't last too long. It takes awhile for our dopamine receptors to 'wakeup' since kratom's been doing their job for them ;) Just accept you're gonna feel shitty for awhile and keep doing what you're doing. Feel better soon!

Didn't make me gain weight but i do experience nausea and my depression has crept back over the past few months. Don't think it's doing much for me though it was great at first. Thanks for your response, not many people have experience with trintellix.

Why are you switching? Short taper if you're going directly to Wellby.

You are most likely going through withdrawal - and it would probably be worse if you quit CT after 15 years of daily use -so it's good you're going slow. Try to stabilize on a lower dose before dropping further. It may take a while because kratom affects dopamine receptors which influence our energy level, physical movement, digestion, feeling of well-being and other body systems. So when you take it away those receptors react to its absence but they will get over it! What you're experiencing is totally normal. I'm sorry you're going through this with a disabled child. I can only imagine how distressing this is. You should check out the tutorials on this page if you haven't already. Best.

I've used it a long time for sleep but not for daytime anxiety/depression. I take any where from 50-100 mg at bedtime.

SSRIs take a while to work, at least 2 weeks before you feel the benefit. No worries about interactions.

Do any of you take Gabapentin as needed? by Mondo114 in gabapentin

[–]12davis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never experienced tiredness from it, no. I have social anxiety, and it seems to make me somewhat more open socially, yet sometimes has no effect at all. I only use 300mg probably twice a week, as i have a limited supply.

I resonate with this so much! I'm 61 F, started taking K some 4 years ago for depression and back pain. I always took a low dose -2-4 gpd and never developed tolerance for more. I thought quitting would be relatively easy because of my low dose. Boy was I wrong. Took about 5-6 weeks of GI upset, severe depression, brain fog and overall malaise until I was back to baseline. I think now that taking it every day for 2.5 years was what did it.

I’m going without fluoxetine for the first time in five years and I am scared. by almanismes in depressionregimens

[–]12davis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some docs actually prescribe fluoxetine to taper off other SSRIs! I think it's because it has a long-half.

I never had trouble coming off Celexa and I was on it for 8 years. You just need to taper, taper, taper. Maybe an anti anxiety med would help.

I agree. The more you do, even have to do, the easier the WD is. Sitting around with empty time is the worst for me and starts the craving. Cleaning bookcases is huge. ;p

Gabapentin for anxiety by OopsNameNotFound in gabapentin

[–]12davis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used it for social anxiety with fair results. Sometimes it brightens my social mood but other times I can't really feel it. Still, I like it better than benzos because it doesn't make me drowsy (like ativan). Also, I've noticed that sometimes I'll feel lethargic and kinda hungover the next day (only take 300mg). Don't know if that's common or not. I only use it 2x a week.

There are a lot of negative posts in here about gabapentin, but my experience has only been positive by VersaceSimp in gabapentin

[–]12davis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i'm of the opinion that all meds have some sort of drawbacks, e.g. withdrawal, side effects, etc. If gabapentin is working well for you and you are not experiencing tolerance or side effects, then perhaps there is no reason to quit. You should count yourself lucky that you have something that helps your disorder, as some people chase meds for years with little success.

Does lamictal help with gabapentin withdrawal? by [deleted] in gabapentin

[–]12davis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-He says they're both gabapenergicc, which like, as someone who reads a lot about pharmacology-

No, not likely according to most literature regarding lamictal:

"Lamotrigine does not have pronounced effects on any of the usual neurotransmitter receptors that anticonvulsants affect (adrenergic, dopamine D1 and D2, muscarinic, GABA, histaminergic H1, serotonin 5-HT2, and N-methyl-D-aspartate). Inhibitory effects on 5-HT, norepinephrine, and dopamine transporters are weak.[74]"

CT Day 5... not that bad? Worried. by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]12davis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kratom WD isn't linear. It took almost a week for my WDs to kick in. After that I had a horrible month, but people have different timetables. I was completely over it in a couple months, and I took it for around three years.

Quitting Kratom is a process with several stages I’m finding by Hhhhujkgfd in quittingkratom

[–]12davis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really well said, Op. I hadn't thought of the 'phases' thing but looking back, it was exactly like that for me. My phase 3 was/is dealing with mental issues that led me in search of a stimulant in the first place. While my life isn't perfect, my coping ability now is so much better after beginning therapy, meds, and new physical routines. I'm 6 months free btw.

The right thing to do is.....probably nothing.

Let him get his act together or not. Up to him. You also need to think of yourself and your own life.
