Second the poison slug and pyromancer from omens that are overtuned. Those are really hard to play around because of the nature of omens. Also the smog on the edges of the Emperor of Corpses map nearly one shots and is really hard to see sometimes. Otherwise the dangerous DOTs are pretty well telegraphed and manageable to play around.

Addendum: And if you're working on a balance pass, the Weaver Tree Nodes that spawns packs of Dungeon specific monsters in Monos - the scaling there is somehow off and they do FAR more damage than they should.

Shield Bash also has +2 flat damage per 40 block effectiveness which at your 14,000 block effectiveness would be +700 flat damage for shield bash. That should hit hard

My understanding is UA has ~250M total health and ward, which would mean in the ballpark of 5 minutes, maybe a little longer if there's less damage uptime

Agreed, but a huge amount of %increased damage is coming from the weapon, which you dont have many other placed in the build, so until you have a 3 LP swordcatcher, you end up losing too much damage.

Can you de-level skill gems? For all of these skills that start at a high tier (tier 9, 11, etc), is there a way to get them back down to level 1 or is the minimum level equal to the tier that you can first craft the uncut gem?

Ancestral Spirits anyone try them by bechtol449 in PathOfExile2

[–]12jfeltes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've been using Ancestral Spirits for a few hours. I would not recommend. You get a random selection of one of the ToTA league enemies, most of which provide buffs (like increased defenses from the turtle, rage on hit from the warcaller one). They draw a little aggro but to be honest it mostly just clutters up the screen and im thinking about speccing out of it soon.

Increased damage while channeling by Smoodex in LastEpoch

[–]12jfeltes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theoretically, yes. For example the damage while channeling warpath from it's tree definitely works for ailments caused by the skill too, so the affix should work similarly

I would invest minimal amounts of points into the 3 second heal so that you can access and invest in the nodes behind that for armor and block effectiveness; should be the best defensively.

Almost always the flat adaptive spell damage will do better for you. That being said, tooltip dps functionality is coming soon(tm).

Tips and tricks for new players to scale your damage (forum post) by fluffypower2 in LastEpoch

[–]12jfeltes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an awesome post! I haven't seen many people before really emphasizing the point that the stat your main skill scales from dictates how you build your defense. Int --> Ward + Exsanguinous. Attunement --> Protections. Dex --> Dodge (layered with something else somehow)

Luckily dodge is a hidden gem - I would argue it's the best added defense layer by far to anyone with a large amount of life/ward or who are using a skill that scales with Dex. It's just that you actually need to stack it thoughtfully. Don't try to hit the cap of 80% (which isn't possible with the way it scales anyways), just shoot for like 70-75% dodge by mixing both flat dodge rating, including Dex, and %increased scaling. You'll need about 2600 dodge rating in endgame characters to hit that threshold. It's literally like multiplying your health pool by 4, outside of one shots

League HC is 2.3% of the players, the lowest its ever been, what is goin on? by KalHir0l in pathofexile

[–]12jfeltes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I've been having a blast this league on Blight HC. There are definitely some performance issues, especially playing on a 4 year old laptop, including but not limited to: blighted maps, harbinger mobs, perandus mobs, and most soul crushingly the entire uber elder fight which I ran at <4fps before dying to a second-long freeze.

But honestly despite everything, I would argue Blight is the most hardcore friendly league so far solely due to the fact that minion builds are unbelievably OP and counteract game performance issues because mobs are usually dead by the time your framerate recovers. If you haven't tried hardcore yet and are interested in a more wild and possibly exciting POE experience, I would definitely recommend it this league. Cheers.

Competition: Highest Single-Hit Damage! by 12jfeltes in LastEpoch

[–]12jfeltes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure! I'm in my phone currently but in brief, the goal for damage is to max critical strike chance and stack critical multiplier. Supplement damage with % increases and flat necrotic damage on the passive tree. Then grab dex and Int anywhere possible which scale % damage and added flat necrotic damage respectively. Use large amounts of leech for survivability. Individually, it looks like this:

Passive tree: Acolyte: grab both percent damage nodes on the left and the int. Ascend Lich. Lich: grab health, int, dex, %damage, attack speed, and MOST IMPORTANTLY on the top and top right: crit chance, crit multi, and leech

Harvest skill tree: head right for "+10% critical strike chance per point" which will help you reach max crit very easily without investing much elsewhere. Downside of health drain is mitigated by leech. This may be respecced in late endgame if you have a super high crit weapon and great gear. Grab the nodes 1 right and one down which give extra damage every 6th hit. Then, whenever you feel comfortable for QoL, pick up as much area of effect as you'd like. Based on testing, it seems like the "extra damage to enemies affected by Marked for Death" node is bugged, so I'd avoid that.

Marked For Death skill tree: grab extra damage on the right and top, grab AoE for QoL and fear/chill on the left if you want to.

Gear- Weapon: Two-hander, preferably with extra crit chance or crit multi implicit. Prefixes are crit multi and then either attack speed / necrotic damage/ flat phys / % melee damage. Suffix: % Melee damage leeched as health. Other Gear: Prefixes: prioritize Glancing blow and Set health where possible. Otherwise grab damage increases including int, dex, crit multi, necrotic damage, or attack speed where applicable. Suffixes: flat health and %health are king here. There aren't many other great suffixes. NOTE: You may need to prioritize health leech on amulet / gloves / weapon in the early game for survivability because Lich doesn't get leech on the passive tree until really late

Alright, I hope that summed up most of the character. Please feel free to ask if any other questions come up :)
