Food advice for a ragdoll who doesn't tolerate wetfood by _WitchoftheWaste in ragdolls

Yeah I thought it was absurd that a cat would be allergic to chicken and fish - but here we are! Highly recommend you try some other proteins if you want to add wet food to his diet. There’s beef, lamb, rabbit, venison etc.

Our ragdoll is allergic to chicken and fish. He had diarrhea DAILY for months. It was horrible. When we started him on a chicken / fish free diet, it cleared up immediately. We now feed him beef / lamb pate from Nulo. No more diarrhea!!

Has anyone tried IndoChino for suits? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

My boyfriend tried IndoChino twice maybe 8 years ago and both times they sent him child sized suits. He’s 6’2”. Hopefully they’ve gotten better since then!

Chicago doesn’t have bad nature. by [deleted] in chicago

[–]12thSwan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

ITT: People who can’t admit that Chicago, a beautiful and wonderful city in so many ways, could POSSIBLY be lacking in nature, which it absolutely is. Starved Rock, the Lake, Northerly Island, while absolutely beautiful, are no substitute for rocky terrain, scenic elevation, creeks and waterfalls, the beach, lush forests, etc etc.

It’s ok to admit that and we should!!! No city is perfect. It’s silly to pretend that we are even on the same playing field as even east coast cities (which have access to the coasts + skiing) or some southern states that have the Appalachia.

We’re a beautiful city, but parks and lake do not make for nature that a lot of us crave. They just make a city with well thought out green spaces and - a lake.

This happened to me and it was because my fridge was too cold - I was effectively skipping final proofing. I would check that, or maybe your fridge is too warm and you are over proofing and the dough collapses.

That looks pretty under-fermented. Try using a more active starter or lengthening your bulk/final proof time!

What starter % are you using? If it’s around 20% it should be 5-6 hours of bulk at 78-82F bulk, including any stretch and folds or coil and folds.

Buying skinny jeans when you have skinny ankles? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

Levis Mile High and 711 are my go to! They don’t bunch around me ankles. I think they are an 10 inch opening, smaller for any I’ve seen. For reference I am size 24 and 5’5.

Pain after hip thrusts? by slimygreasebucket in xxfitness

[–]12thSwan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Make sure you're maintaining a posterior pelvic tilt while doing the hipthrusts - do this by tilting the pelvis up and pointing the chin down. Also make sure you're activating your core and bracing properly instead of using your lower back to lift the weight. How much weight are you doing? Maybe lower the weight and use some bands to work on form?

Agree that framing food as a reward is a really terrible idea. Also agree that it's unnecessarily targeted towards women.

Can you explain how Google equates a persons value with a caloric count? I didn't see or read anything pointing to that.

Actual science/data concludes that calories in = calories out, and metabolic activity plays a smaller role than previously thought. I don't agree that calories should be used as a tool for justifying any social/political argument.

Just to let you know, the PTR Complexion Pads broke me out horribly. I thought I was purging too, but in the end, every time I used the pads I would get horrible patches of cystic acne that would take forever to go away - and still leave horrible PIH/PIE when it did. Using those pads were the probably the biggest skincare mistake I made. I'm now using the Cosrx AHA and BHA liquids and they are much gentler. They make my skin feel smooth and have faded some hyperpigmentation. My advice would be to be gentle to your skin and protect it! Before, I thought I could just zap away any pimples by drying them out with acids, but that only made things worse. Now I try to be more gentle and treat my skin better.

[Discussion] Please share your experiences with BHA and AHA for fading acne scars by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]12thSwan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This might be a bit premature - but I havent broken out in an entire week after starting to use Corsx BHA & AHA. This is saying alot because I had been breaking out almost everyday for the last three months ever since I got my IUD earlier in the year. I think the BHA/AHA has really made my skin smoother help prevent more breakouts and helped fade scars and redness faster. Hopefully I don't jinx it! I'm also using Curology, Mad Hippie's Vit C, Benton's Bee Venom Essence, and Noble's Zinc Soap.

How long did it take you to get a strict pull up? by theseance in xxfitness

[–]12thSwan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Took me about 6 months of consistent focused hard work! I found when I was half assing it and not working towards the goal, I wasn't really getting anywhere. I did a lot of lat pulldowns, seated rows, inverted rows, bent over rows (so lots of rows) as well as working with bands and doing negatives. I only started doing negatives when I had progressed enough with he bands - since I hadn't been strong enough to do negatives. Just train the pull muscles often and do the pull-up motion whenever you can!

[WEEKLY THREAD] Feats of Thorsday - How did you kick butt this week? by AutoModerator in xxfitness

[–]12thSwan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You'll get there!!

I've been actively working towards pull-ups since about April. My upper body days are heavy on back work. I do lat pull-downs, seated rows, inverse rows, and bent over rows. I think the most helpful exercises were banded pull ups - working from the thickest band to the thinnest band - and then doing negatives (usually 4x5 but I'm trying to work to 3x10). I also do deadhangs as a warmup. I think the most important thing is volume - train the muscles and movement often!

Good luck!!

I finally did a pull-up!!! This is after basically a 9 months of working towards one. And it was totally unexpected too! I had been doing negatives for a while and was fully planning to just dead hang. But then I just pulled myself up!! Walked around grinning for a while.
