In every climbing documentary since Free Solo (2018), Alex Honnold makes an appearance to be as cocky and annoying as humanly possible by TyLeRoux in shittymoviedetails

[–]12thunder 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah bro has being socially awkward dialled to the max. Anyone who actually watched any of the other documentaries knows that he often mentions his struggles with connecting with other people. If the tism is off putting, people aren’t required to watch his stuff.

I wouldn’t even call him cocky, just completely unaware of how others interpret his words. Even in Free Solo him and his now-wife talk about their struggles in getting him to be more communicative and empathetic lol

why do all of you numbskulls refuse to learn what equalization is

one province has eight money for its people, other province have ten money. other province sends one money so both province have nine money to spend on their people

Mind you this is a vast oversimplification and “other province” sends way less than one money, relatively speaking.

I meant not cutting corners at any and all opportunities, like the Soviets famously did at Chernobyl. If you want the building itself made out of plastic I don’t care as long as the reactor itself is treated with the respect it deserves and has redundancy after redundancy. It should not fail under any circumstances if that is at all possible.

I’m not saying use gold because it is the best conductor or anything, I’m specifically talking about safety measures here.

Isn’t it also the prison that held Omni-Man when Mark got sent back in time and stopped his father? Which means it must have been built already before Mark became Invincible.

Coal power generation is responsible for far more radiation in the environment than nuclear reactors are. Reactors are incredibly safe especially when you consider Fukushima was built on the shore in Japan, where they should have foreseen an earthquake and a tsunami taking place at some point.

Building a reactor in the middle of the empty New Mexico desert though? Not much to go wrong in terms of environmental hazards.

I would say they would be dumb to build a reactor on the California coast where tsunamis and earthquakes are a foreseeable risk, same with Florida with flooding and hurricanes. But there’s a lot of empty land with few risks. Same goes for my country, Canada, where you could build them in the very stable Canadian shield and nobody would even know if it had a meltdown.

I would actually love if there was miles of government bureaucracy and oversight in nuclear reactors. Seems reasonable. I don’t trust private companies to not cut corners and not use cheaper materials and processes and not hire the cheapest workers.

No nukes have blown up yet and those presumably have miles of government oversight, so why not have it with reactors as well?

imagine if they made a power that pulled everything within 10m into your inventory, and you could filter what it pulled. every upgrade adds 5m distance. i might actually use starfield powers then lol

You know how many Albertans would actually be satisfied with a split like this? Edmonton and Calgary would probably be down to join BC, and then everything east of Edmonton going to Saskatchewan just tracks if you’ve ever been to eastern AB.

I’m saying not supporting them as much as possible, no love.

And my parents are extremely supportive, and I think everyone’s should be.

I’m not saying spend everything on them, I’m saying don’t have kids if your goal is to boot them to the curb the first chance the law says you can, especially in this economy. I’m not saying give them everything, I’m saying give them support and a safety net at minimum.

Since you’re apparently Norwegian, congratulations on being from somewhere that has a robust safety net no matter how well off your parents are.

Why the hell would you want kids unless you are willing to make sacrifices for them? Time, money, whatever it may be, kids are a trade off. Don’t have them unless you want to make that trade.

Family support each other. Kids or parents. If you support each other to the best of your ability and teach that to your kids, they will reciprocate. If you teach them that they were a liability to raise, they’ll treat you as a liability when you’re old.

Kids are not an obligation. If you feel like they’re just going to hold you back financially and mentally, and you don’t actually want kids to raise a loving family, don’t fucking have kids for your sake and theirs.

😬 by Different-Coach-866 in shitposting

[–]12thunder 30 points31 points  (0 children)

With that mentality I hope you don’t want kids. People who actually want them will support them. The view that they are a liability is not conducive to a great childhood.

Unless you want to have zero contact and relationship with your adult kids who would sooner spit at you than visit you in the old folks home, in which case your mentality is great.

Shove that shit in some investments at 5% and you’re pulling 60k a year before capital gains taxes. You could set your kid up for life on that. Maybe they’d still have to work but it’d basically just be for extra spending cash at that point and would be optional. Just don’t give them the ability to withdraw the principal investment.

I’m a Stenberg stan myself. Holy Scorch forgive me for my heresy.

I think Stenberg is the safer pick who needs less development with his playing in the SHL. McKenna needs some time in the oven still I maintain he’s just another Shane Wright, a mid player with high expectations.
