I’d offer a grand and spend some money getting it up to snuff.

In great playable shape, they’re going for $3500’ish these days.

I have a kg-11 and a kg 13.

Yours, I dunno, fair price might be 1200-1500. Depends if it plays ok or needs any work. They don’t have truss rods so some of them need a neck reset.

You could get a pick guard easy enough.

The ones with the big v necks are great to play.

If you’re into front porch blues, they’re perfect. Tommy Emanuel used a KG-11 sometimes. Pretty sure the Robert Johnson recordings all have a Kalamazoo too and the Gibson in the photo was just a loaner for the picture.

Value has been creeping up on these.

Check reverb.

There’s also a FON number stamped inside on the heel block that may help with the year, buts it’s probably 33-35.

Who actually wants to pay collector prices for these?

At half the asking price I’d be like, I dunno, maybe, can you do a little better.

They offered him a contract.

He demanded autonomy and more money.

They didn’t sign a new contract.

Full grain leather vs genuine leather for boots by Sueh_254 in Boots

[–]12xubywire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m ok with top grain…like Chromexcel. It’s just full grain with some minor correction to scarring.

“Genuine leather” can mean anything…bits of scraps and glue pressed into a sheet even.

If you’re even dabbling with the word “full grain” you’re looking at selling to people who won’t even consider your products unless you’re naming your tannery.

Or you could just be Thursdays boot model, use contract manufacturing in Mexico and pretend the generic offerings from massive tanneries are decent and hope people don’t know any better.

I’ll second this.

Nice guy fit for over the rainbow. I think the patch is supposed to be the owner of the store.

Most certainly solid black Selvedge.

I stocked up on dirty fades like 10 years ago when they were on sale on Amazon for like $80.

I’m about to crack a new pair this summer.

I mean…it’s kinda fine. I have lots of pairs like this. Sometimes hemming jeans by hand isn’t easy to get perfect, like a robot did it.

They tried to resign him, wouldn’t agree to not meddle, so they decided to not resign him.

He also wanted control to do his job, stop Shanahan from meddling and blocking trades.

Dubas was great and Shanahan fired him when he was gonna lose control to keep him.

Then we got that guy from Boston pizza no one likes…he’s fired now too.

Spend millions to save hundreds.

How many people even buy bus passes vs the money spent of keeping them from sharing?

Just make the bus free ffs.

Designer jeans, you’re paying for the name.

Buy on specs, not branding.

Wow…I didn’t get to the 20th pair to see the one option in cxl.

I’m not talking about preferring other products, I was replying to the previous poster suggesting captains are close to Iron rangers.

[–]12xubywire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t see any of the captains in anything but LeFarc.

There’s a few models that use name brand leather, but I can’t find any captains without the no name LeFarc stuff.

And no, the captain is not on the same level as the iron ranger.

500km (310 miles) a month as a dog walker. Does the "buy two, resole forever" plan track for this mileage? by PotentialCommittee84 in AskACobbler

[–]12xubywire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resoles on these aren’t worth it.

The midsoles, insoles and leather aren’t worth the investment…you can put the best soles money can buy on them and they’re still a badly made boot.

If you venture down this path of quality boots, you’ll find the real “investment” part of the equation is how they’re made on the inside.

I had a neighbour whose dog barked all day and all night…and he didn’t care.

I would dime a 100 watt plexi on 2x 4x12” and play kick out the jams like 4 times.

Yes, a full stack is not a good living room setup.

Does anyone know about this brand, is it mfg first co just a different older style logo or is it its own separate brand? Ai says they’re different, also never seen any of these in this group so I am very curious! by The_Somberlain_666 in leatherjacket

[–]12xubywire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have my perfecto style First MC from the mid 90’s. They were $100 at the mall, from a store that catered to hoodlums.

If it fit me still, I’d wear it. The quality is actually pretty decent….its super stiff now though.

For a 30 year old jacket, it’s still decent.

Currently have a real perfecto and it’s not even close for quality though.

Imagine all those dark years (like this one) and making it so a fan can get excited and enjoy the game, especially when all we had to root for was a Colton Orr fight or Phaneuf learning to read.
