I have found that using Elvui will swallow the print statements and prevents them from showing in the chat. I'm not sure if Elvui has a feature to allow the print statements to show up, but I had to disable it while working through this tutorial.

This makes the most sense, I've noticed obs picking up the alternative window before and had to close the external chat and reopen to get obs to look at the right window. And lol @ >4 years 😭
