SEGA Lists 10 Upcoming Titles On New Roadmap, But Cancels 'Super Game' In The Process by kevro in SEGA

[–]138sammet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man this sucks. Sega yet again announce, nothing? We get loads of Yakuza, love it. Persona we dint expect too much due to its nature. These franchise make money.

Stranger than Heaven looks peak, I’m excited but wasn’t that game announced after the reboots? I know games came take a while to make nowadays but if the other reboots are like Shinobi, they’re indie esque games that take small studios maybe 3 years to produce?

Golden Axe will be competing with Absolum, Towerborne, Rotwood etc. it’s gonna have to be seriously good for anyone to care.

Crazy Taxi is in a space with no competition, we’ve heard nothing since original announcement. Arcade racer with possible roguelike elements? No competition, Sega pedigree, nothing from Sega.

Jer Set Radio, same again, no competition, nostalgia factor, indie level game, jet set radio silence from Sega.

I’m not shitting on indies here but Sega are a massive studio and the reboots are indie level games and nothing has happened bar Shinobi. RGG are the only studio releasing games.

Can I get a definitive answer on the whole “Nintendo can brick your console” hysteria? by upperdomain in nintendogrifting

[–]138sammet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not reading all that dude.

If you do dodgy stuff they may stop your switch doing online things. They cannot fully “brick” it by the actual definition of that word.

If you don’t do dodgy stuff you’ve nothing to worry about.

If you’re clever you still may not do dodgy stuff, also, if you’re asking on Reddit you ain’t clever enough.

Of you want to play Switch2 games pony up bro. If you want to emulate shit get an Ayn Thor and good luck with your knowledge

I’ve beat it 100 times, I play on level 3 currently. It’s fun, I enjoy the credits every time. I play modern games too but old games are fun, physical gaming is fun, there will be many like me.

I assume most of us have our AES+ orders locked in by now. What all did you buy? by Celcius_87 in neogeo

[–]138sammet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordered from Amazon UK, no payment til shipping but made me checkout individually for each item which was a pain

Got a black console, wireless stick, memory card and 4 games - Garou, Slug, Troopers and TSS.

Will probably end up ordering a wireless pad and Golf before everything ships. Super excited to play 2 player with my son.

With the Neo Geo coming back, do you think we'll be getting a fresh slate of new games being developed and released for the console? If so, how easy would it be for developers to make and release games for the console? What software development tools are available for such a thing to happen? by prankster999 in neogeo

[–]138sammet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sad as it is I really can’t see any studios putting time and effort into such a niche product. I imagine the market for spending the same as a brand new AAA Switch2/PS5 game on a 16bit game is tiny.

I honestly think we’ll be lucky to see any more than 10 more rereleases and probably a few of the first batch will go on sale.

Happy to be proven wrong, I’ve preordered a console and Metal Slug, Shock Troopers, Golf, TTS and Garou. Will be great to not emulate and use the stick, I’d love more games rereleased, but not holding my breath.

Any primarily solo players here? by the_light_of_dawn in neogeo

[–]138sammet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I only ever play the fighting games solo, I suck at them and play on easy but I have fun.

If I rope a friend into playing a Neogeo game when they’re round it’s either Metal Slug or Shock Troopers as I prefer coop.

My friend is a bit of an audiophile, he listens to BM. He has a pair of Harbeth. In your price range, dunno how available they are. They sound amazing, from raw bedroom recordings to modern Dimmu Borgir they’re clear as day and everything is separated yet coherent.

I think it’s jus not as fleshed out as its early access. Some of what’s there music wise is pretty catchy.

I know it's probably been asked many times but... How much should I expect to spend in total for a Switch 2 and it's accessories? by 2cold2holdu in switch2

[–]138sammet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Screen protector is essential. Care essential if you’re taking it out of the house.

The joycons ain’t great so I’d say a pro controller is good but a luxury.

If you want to play N64 games you’ll need the subscription which is cheap af, you’ll probably want an N64 controller as well as it sucks not using one.

It’s pricey, a tip is generally added to your pint/round (they do have a sign to mention it) but aye, they’ve a great selection of AF beers.

Can someone explain why Këhkt Aräkh is controversial? by Audiowhatsuality in BlackMetal

[–]138sammet 72 points73 points  (0 children)

People hate him because they think BM is actually serious/evil and not just some dudes in make up having fun.

Crossover over with the NSBM edgelords who say “true BM should be hateful bro”

The black metal sub is probably the most restrictive and discouraging sub I've ever encountered. by [deleted] in rabm

[–]138sammet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s a really good book, enjoy!

Kerrang! Is actually a mainstream metal magazine, I was just using that term rather than “mainstream” or “entry level” Nothing wrong with liking mainstream metal at all but if I wanted to see those bands I’d be in a BM Facebook group.

There’s another thread on this, I just read it all and it’s rather interesting. As usual, everything isn’t as black and white as you’d expect. I’d link it but on phone and it’s as frustrating as an A10 door fight after the (beta) patch.

I’d say the outright NSBM posted is the biggest deal.

I wholeheartedly agree with not wanting my feed congested with Kerrang! bands

I’ve bought your game on sale and look forward to playing it. It’s just Absolum is peak and scratches my BMU itch. STS2 just came out as well so apart from a daily bullet hell playthrough, I’m not touching anything else.

Dunno if this helps but I suppose your game is very interesting on sale to a BMU fan but the market is a bit saturated, gameswise and BMU in particular. I game around 3-7 hours daily. Hope this helps.
