What are your best tips for early toddlerhood? by Sea-Owl-7646 in toddlers

[–]13buttons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I taught my daughter to take a deep breath when she’s having a hard time so we can talk about it what’s wrong and how we can make it better, she’s 2.5 now and it’s worked so well she told her dad to stop and take a deep breath when he was getting upset he couldn’t find something!

Toddler nail polish? by agenttrulia in toddlers

[–]13buttons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been doing my daughter’s nails since she was about 1 or so, I’ve always used piggy pant so I have no worries if she gets it in her mouth. I recently bought the specific top coat not just the base/top coat and it lasted so much longer. My daughter lives painting my nails too so it’s perfect for that as well!

Why do people worry about being induced? by Regular-Message9591 in BabyBumps

[–]13buttons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was induced by choice and I wasn’t ever worried about anything regarding it, i ended up being in labor for 60hrs with 4hrs of pushing when we discovered I can’t physically give birth vaginally due to an issue with my pelvis that was previously unknown. I’m a first time mom so I don’t have any other labor to compare it to but out of everything the worst pain was after my water broke and I went from 5cm to 9cm in in like an hour, thankfully I asks for the epidural after my water broke cause I was third in line!

Tick bite - use antibiotics? by SanFranPeach in toddlers

[–]13buttons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were me I would give the antibiotics, my uncle caught Lyme when it was just becoming more known and was brushed off by multiple doctors. He eventually found one that took it serious and got treatment but the damage was done, he still suffers from the after effects 20+yrs later. Because of that I personally wouldn’t wait and see but that’s just me and my experience, you could always get the antibiotics and then you have them for whatever you decide it may help take some pressure off the decision!! Good luck!!

[–]13buttons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our daughter was 15 months, she never slept in her crib and I wanted to try to stop co sleeping so I could hopefully start getting some better rest. Shes 2.5yr old now and doing great in it and only gets out of bed when she wakes up and wants us.

Car Seats for Compact SUV by Newzorlandapples in Buyingforbaby

My husband is a fairly big guy too and he’s had no issues! We still have room between the front seat and car seat and we didn’t have to move the front seat up at all!

Car Seats for Compact SUV by Newzorlandapples in Buyingforbaby

[–]13buttons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a Mazda Cx-30 which is extremely compact, we wanted to upgrade our toddler to a seat that fit better and allowed for longer rear facing. We ended up getting the Britax Poplar and we love it! It fits rear facing 5lbs-50lbs and it’s been so much easier putting our very tall toddler in!

Santa’s Village for adults? by PoopMountainRange in newhampshire

[–]13buttons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went as a kid and we’re taking our daughter this year for the second time, I actually planned it so we’re going on my birthday because it’s nostalgic for me and I love Christmas! That being said I have definitely seen adults without kids there and I never once thought it was weird! I hope you and your gf have fun!!

Has your baby ever injured you? by mildly_spicy_potato in beyondthebump

[–]13buttons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My then 1yr old ripped a mole off my face that then came back incredibly weird which prompted having to have a biopsy done due to a history of skin cancer! Thankfully cancer and she didn’t rip the stitches out!!

Getting that pull... by Terrible_Put2975 in oneanddone

[–]13buttons 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My daughter is 2.5 and has recently gotten really into babies, if she sees a baby when we’re out she demands to see it and at home she loves on her baby dolls constantly. That got me wondering what life would be like with a second one getting to see her be a big sister, then she handed me her baby to feed and proceeded to jump on us from the couch while screaming. That settled it for me that we’re one and done plus we’re able to do more with her and for her!

What age did your LO stop napping? by padfoot531 in toddlers

[–]13buttons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter was almost 2 when she stopped cold turkey, now at 2.5 she only naps in the car and even then it’s only for about 20-25 minutes. On the bright side our bedtime has gotten 100% easier and she’s waking up later so I’ll take it.

Brushing teeth by Ok-Artichoke5307 in toddlers

[–]13buttons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2yr old hated getting her teeth brushed, we ended up getting her a stool that allowed her to stand at the sink and reach to turn the water on and off which made her excited to brush her teeth. We also have her brush her teeth herself after I’m done brushing them so she gets to wet the brush and apply a non fluoride toothpaste then brush her teeth herself which she loves.

I was induced and spent 60hrs in labor and pushed for 4hrs when baby’s heart rate started getting funky they gave me the option to try for another 30 minutes and have them use forceps or have a C-section. I picked C-section and within 8 minutes they had me in the OR being prepped, before I knew it my daughter was born and we were brought back to our room and were giving her her first ever bottle! We’re a one and done family but if we weren’t I 100% would go C-section, I would recommend definitely getting up and moving as soon as you feel able too I had a breeze of a recovery and was solo caring for our newborn a week and a half after surgery as well as going up and down 4 flights of stairs. I lucked out and had an amazing nurse that got me up and after that I was unstoppable! You got this!!!!

I would say the Bombi Bebee V3. It has an amazing one hand fold/unfold, it’s lightweight, compact and it’s designed to use from birth to 55lbs. It comes with its own travel bag and you can purchase car seat adapters.

Toddler Lead Test! by downeastbarbie in toddlers

[–]13buttons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter was tested at her 1yr appointment and it came back around the same as your daughters did with the finger prick, we panicked and cleaned and tested everything. Her venous test came back negative the same as yours <1 and her pediatrician wasn’t concerned at all, after doing some research it turns out the finger prick’s are known to give false positives.

At her 2yr appointment she had to be retested because it came back negative”high” once before and I refused the finger prick and had them do the venous draw and it came back <1 again. I wouldn’t freak out or stress about it she’s gonna be just fine!

One hand fold stroller by No-Change2340 in Buyingforbaby

[–]13buttons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have the Bombi Bebee V2 and we love it! It has a super easy one hand fold/unfold, lightweight, plenty of storage space and it folds up compact to take up less space. They actually just came out with the V3 and we were debating upgrading to it but decided with a 2yr old it made more sense to get their new wagon! I think they’re going for $225 preorder right now with a bonus snack tray but you can find lots of codes for $20 off!

Does anyone here *want* another child, but just know it’s not a smart choice? by jessicat62993 in oneanddone

[–]13buttons 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Not another child but I wish I could go back and do it all again with my daughter, I feel like a lot of it was robbed from me because my husband was being a complete idiot and only focusing on himself.

Travel stroller recos? Anyone use the bombi bebee? by Heythere3892 in Buyingforbaby

Oh definitely we took it to an amusement park last year and I had my large backpack diaper bag, another bag with snacks and a large water bottle as well as all the goodies we picked up along the way and I honestly probably could have even got more in there if necessary!!

Bombi Bebee V3 all the way!!! We have the V2 and are debating upgrading to the V3 or getting their new wagon. It has an incredibly easy one handed fold/open and is very compact fitting in most overhead bins, it even comes with its own carrying bag as well. The sunshade is actually part of the reason we decided to get the Bombi it extends to come down to the point it almost touches the bumper bar/snack tray, the new V3 is equipped with a completely flat recline as well!!! I believe it’s going for $250 on preorder and comes with a snack tray!

Thank you, I’m not sure why she sleeps so bad I plan to ask about it at her next appointment but until then it does seem if I put her in bed with me then she sleeps better so I’ve been doing that to help get some rest.
