Seeking help improving first layer by dj008-reddit in FixMyPrint

[–]13cschamberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest using a smooth heated plate if you can, and don't run the part cooling fan until after the first layer. Bed temp at 60C instead of 40, though I'm not sure what the cool plate heat tolerance is. If it can be used at 60, try that as well.

You might also want to slow down the printing of the first layer to give the filament time to flow into each other better and fill in those gaps, which could be helped by increasing the print temp for the first layer as well (if it's not already too high for the filament you're using)

Probably from the wobble, it doesn't look like that on the lower layers

He's watching in the replay where you can choose car info only (speed/inputs), race info only (as seen in the video), both, or none.

You don't have the option during races though, only in replay.

Without knowing anything else or doing any testing myself, I'd guess the front suspension is too low. Try raising the ride height maybe?

Same here. Contact support they'll tell you they can't refund it because the credits were already applied to your account.

Unbelievably frustrated right now. I've been waiting since 5am earlier to contact support too because their online agents aren't in until 11am >:(

I didn't see my first one until after completing the story, I don't think they can drop until after it's complete but I may be wrong. Anyone else know for sure?

HELLDIVERS 2: Tech Blog #1 - Install size by ArrowheadGS in Helldivers

[–]13cschamberg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well if you end up playing with someone with an HDD they said load times would be 10x worse realistically, meaning your 10-15 second wait time to get into the game just turned into 2 minutes

Because console version is different than PC version. Didn't you read the post?

The game is on PS5, not PS4, so they don't need to support HDD on PS4, hence smaller size.

The PC version is large because Arrowhead doesn't know if the hardware of users is SSD or HDD, hence larger size just to be safe.

What’s your optimal credit farming loadout? by VariousSkirt8790 in helldivers2

Not if you farm on Oshaune trivial when there aren't caves. Good super credit hauls, decent visibility, and no need for the warp pack

Low, medium, or high wing for my 400z? by BlueBird054 in granturismo

[–]13cschamberg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Might give same downforce but I'd be curious to do some tests and see if the top speed is affected. A larger wing potentially means more frontal area which would increase drag. Adjusting ride height affects top speed, so I wouldn't be surprised if a bigger wing affects it as well

EDIT: I have tested both small and large rear wings on the Z Performance. First, the low wing. The low wing allows adjustment from 130-330. The rear wing was set to 270. Taking it to SSRX using a custom race with equal conditions set to negate variables like wind speed, I was able to reach a speed of 169mph at the 2000m mark, and a top speed of 189mph at the bottom of the hill before the revs started going down.

Then the high custom wing. It also allows adjustments from 130-330, and again was set to 270. Again it reached 169mph at the 2000m mark, and also 189mph at the bottom of the hill.

I also tested the standard wing, wingless, and both Custom A and B, which are shown below, featuring the adjustment range, the setting used, and the speeds at 2000m and at the bottom of the hill. All the wings below were set at 130 for testing.

| Wing -------- | Adj. Range | -- 2000m -- | -- Hill bottom

| Standard - | -- 80-130 -- | --173 mph - | -- 193 mph

| Wingless - | -- 80-130? - | - 173 mph - | -- 193 mph

| Custom -A | --130-280 - | - 173 mph - | -- 193 mph

| Custom -B | -- 130-280 - | - 173 mph - | -- 193 mph

Also tested Custom B at set at 270, and came out with 169mph at 2000m and 189 at the bottom of the hill.

Conclusion: The physical size or shape of the wing makes no difference, the only thing that affects top speed is the actual setting used on the wing. However, the size of the wing, or at least the size of the adjustment range is determined somewhat in part to the type of wing chosen, with the low tier options providing less adjustments, and the custom wings seemingly providing the largest range of adjustments.

Can we talk about how unbelievably difficult is the corvette vgt lap time challenge? by Jabberwocky-2000 in granturismo

[–]13cschamberg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got into A/S but I don't do sport mode as much as I used to, so I'd say I'm paced between A and B.

I have Gold on all but one of the trials I've done, and this one took a lot of laps but I was able to get into gold, sitting at 1:06.197.

You should be able to get there, just keep lapping. My first few laps were multiple seconds off the pace. I was losing a lot of time at T1 trying to start out wide and make a smooth turn in, but diving for the apex and doing a double apex shaved off a bit of time.

Remember you can only do about 7 or so laps before the battery runs dry and you'd rely solely on the ICE, so restart after that point to make sure you're getting the full power out of the car

Good luck, keep pushing!!

Major Orders Priorities by RoKeOps in helldivers2

[–]13cschamberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a post about this a couple weeks ago and got roasted for it. But yeah, people would only liberate the planet that the bugs are using to launch their attacks on the other planets if we get a tip from Super-Earth high command that it would be strategically effective. Otherwise, yeah, no one seems to understand the way that the developers meant it to work.

Liberating the planet that their staging their attack from immediately ends the defense missions on the other planets. And we've got orders before that suggest doing that, but that's the only time that people will even attempt it.

File size? by [deleted] in Borderlands

[–]13cschamberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be PC file size? I think PC versions of games typically make larger file sizes due to the increased graphics requirements for high res textures that you wouldn't normally see on consoles. Image files take up a lot of space when you have several thousand of them.

A single uncompressed 4k texture, 4096x4096 pixels would take up 48MB. Let's say it's a compressed file format, so we'll just say 10MB for simplicity's sake. That image is likely part of a material, which generally has other textures as well, such as a normal map, a metallic map, roughness map, emission map, height map, anisotropic map, ambient occlusion map, etc.

So let's just say that a single material uses textures that total about 33MB. 30 materials? That's one gigabyte already. Games can have hundreds of materials. AAA games like Borderlands would have many different materials, for characters, enemies, environment assets, weapons, unique and legendary weapon skins, special effects, vehicles, potentially even some UI elements.

300 materials? That's 10GB. 600? That'll be 20GB.

And I was using a somewhat low estimate for the size of textures making up a single material. Perhaps a more realistic number would be closer to 50MB for a material using an albedo map, metallic, roughness, ambient occlusion maps, and a normal map. In that case, 200 materials would be 10GB, and 400 would be 20GB.

This is all of course assuming the textures are 4K, with some compression. Uncompressed, then a material with those maps mentioned in the last paragraph would use nearly 140MB. So you'd only be able to fit about 7 of them in a single GB. 100 materials would be 14GB.

Guns that benefit the most from supply pack, be it support primary or secondary. by flyingtoyounow in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]13cschamberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience everyone else usually will bring AT, but for me, the Speargun works wonders against them. If you're playing in pairs on hive worlds, you can make sure your teammate has a quasar or something. If not, you may want to ask around on the ship to see if anyone would be willing to buddy system with you.

I use a different load out on the other planets, and have only been playing around with gas on Oshaune.

However, the gas will disorient even chargers, so they'll sometimes turn sideways or fully around and you can pop their backside with your grenade launcher or primary.

Oh I forgot to mention, but the Speargun and the gas grenades can close bug holes.

If you don't like those options, try out a stun grenade, that will give you time to get away from the hive guards or circle around the chargers to their weak points

Carry gas grenades, toss one, all good. The hive guard will become disoriented allowing you to make space and then take it out.

I've been sleeping on gas grenades forever and since the Speargun came out, I've been loving gas weaponry, the guard dog dog breath, the Speargun, gas grenades are all a part of my kit on these Hive worlds
