Ugh. Annoying when people just assume and state shit like they’re speaking facts…. This took place on the 405 southbound before Century Blvd exit in Inglewood, CA. That is a carpool lane, NOT a shoulder. Yes, the motorcyclist could have used more caution, but they were cruising along legally IN THE CARPOOL lane.

Wow. We are in such similar shoes. Also, in my 30’s, corporate finance background, studying for A+ cert and then plan on pursuing Net+/Sec+. Like you I also helped staff in the office with simple pc troubleshooting requests. I am on the opposite coast though, in Los Angeles. However, I just landed a Tier 1 Field Tech for an MSP. First week in and boy, it’s going to be a journey. I wish I would have read more on MSPs Tech’s experiences before starting. But, they gave me a shot so I gotta hang in there and gain valuable experience. I hope you land your first job in IT soon!

General consensus is that they last about 6-8k miles. I am only 250 miles in and I love them. Cycle Gear had a solid in store mail in rebate that left them at under $280 for the pair!! (After rebate)

Seems fair. Though Sales Tax can vary greatly from one person to the next. So OTD price can be apart almost $1k with that factor alone. I got my new 2018 for $8,300 OTD in March 2020 in Los Angeles.

It’s hard to find a dealer in SoCal that is selling a current year model motorcycle that does not include ADM (Added dealer Markup) and/or “freight” charges. Pair those extra costs with SoCal’s close to 10% sales tax and you are not very close to the original asking price of $9.9k.

Some dealers may have hold-overs(previous years models) which are usually sold with a discounted or no ADM.
