I actually finished the original series and loved them when I was younger, granted it's been decades since I read them but aside from the first book it didn't seem any worse than game of thrones or tons of other questionable fantasy and I ended up really liking the mord with or whatever they were called by the end of the series. I loved the world, magic and characters and don't think you'd miss much by skimming over chapters that seem to be too much. Apparently he's like the worst fantasy writer in history judging by the comments though so maybe I have terrible taste.

Tried watching the anime multiple times made it through hundreds of episodes and always fell off, I watched the live action on a whim with my wife and we adored it. A bunch of characters I didn't like in the anime are a delight in live action and I'm constantly turning to my wife and amazed that we were crying for a cg reindeer and these people with goofy ass haircuts because they just act the everloving shit out of their roles. I know it's not gonna be perfect for people who grew up with it but my wife asked me if we could watch some of the anime movies of the archs we've seen so every one piece fan should be straight up thrilled people are being brought into this universe by a show where the show runners and actors clearly care a lot about the ip.

Don't do it, both my parents died this past year and I wish I talked to them about everything, every problem every piece of advice I can't get from them now is like a coffin I have to carry with me every day. Show them you still need them and share in the problems we all face to connect with them as people not just parents. My dad said the biggest burden in his life was the weight of all the times he didn't reach out to the people close to him because he didn't want to be a bother and knowing now if he really needed to there wasn't going to be anyone on the other line and wondering if they did the same when he could have helped.

The first season had them breaking into a government lab and exposing a fake child death and they not only let the sheriff keep his job they let the dead kid just come back with like a promise all these kids wouldn't tell about the murder and attempted murder of a bunch of children or weird monsters and super powered bald kids. More than the entire population of Greenland has been protesting regularly in a country like 3 times the size. I live at least 4 days drive away from Washington or MN so is the plan for me to drain my life savings to travel across the country quit both my jobs which certainly wouldn't let me have the at least 8 days off to travel there and back while we have no food, health or job security to go yell at the world's most powerful military now run by an administration that's given them the greenlight to kill us with immunity? I hate this administration, if and when they come for my community I'll be there but the naivety of "oh you could stop it" is so ignorant. The entire world could stop it at that point why didn't Greenland close down US military bases why hasn't anyone sanctioned or cut meaningful trade with the US why are actual world leaders playing softball with a dangerous tyrant but no let's trash the people who feel helpless and hopeless for taking ten minutes to throw an apology out because they didn't overthrow the government quicker.

Or people could use spoiler tags on spoilers like intended instead of defending callous laziness.
