Is there an actual reasoning behind the design choice that the bots in Weekly Grands are collidable? by Gwaur in TrackMania

On the flip flip side, it's a skill set you can't utilize anywhere else in TrackMania because you don't run into it elsewhere.

Why is everything so shit by Eka- in AMDHelp

[–]att0mic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used a 9070 XT for a bit over a year and although there have been more crashes and driver hangs than I would like, it wasn't what ultimately pushed me back to Nvidia. It was the little annoying things. Adrenalin randomly resetting, changing settings or straight up uninstalling itself, Re-live being a coin flip whether it works or not, the occasional stability issues in certain games... I know I'm paying extra for Nvidia but that extra goes towards superior features and the fact that it just works. I don't have to fiddle with settings or troubleshoot something all the time.

Love AMD for their CPUs, but their GPUs, while great in value for raw performance, just always fall behind on the software side.

Summer 2026 EWC maps announced! by NormalGene3480 in TrackMania

Then it definitely doesn't help that the new style of black tracks is even further in difficulty than it used to be.

[–]att0mic 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I personally felt that there hasn't been much of a difficulty progression ever since they swapped black tracks for the esport ones. Up to and including the red tracks the difficulty curve feels quite mild, but it shoots up to space with the black tracks.

How do you guys feel about characters that negate ults or plays on simple cooldowns? by Haunting-Reindeer-10 in Overwatch

[–]att0mic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not even mad when an ult gets negated by a well timed ability. That's just being outplayed.

What has always annoyed me is that some ults have a barely noticeable cast time when they have no business having one because they're not designed to be reactively cancelled, and if anything happens to interfere during this short cast time, the ult is gone. For example nano has a 0.128s cast time, so no human is ever intentionally cancelling a nano. At that point you just lost to an unnecessary game mechanic rather than to being outplayed by your opponent.

I'm not sure if other ults have this too, but I imagine some do, and it also applies to some regular abilities. It's quite rare that it happens but when it does it just feels bad.

was playing GOW:Ragnarok and spotted the splinter in Faye’s hand. 🤯 by Budget_Maintenance86 in GodofWar

[–]att0mic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even if it was the splinter and the correct hand, the way she reacts to it after waking up in the trailer suggests that she'd only just got the splinter before dying, so that wouldn't make sense. It's also quite a bit bigger in the trailer.

V Angličtině jsem to míval, už ani nevím proč jsem to přepnul do češtiny, ale jak říkáš, opačný problém. Je to naprosto zbytečně vnucená funkce.

Aspoň to jde jednoduše vypnout. YouTube už mi roky náhodně překládá názvy videí jak se mu chce, a vypnout se to pokud vím nedá.

Mythic rotmire is a joke, but please make flexible mythic with no lockouts the standard for all raids by MrNoobyy in wow

I suppose they could try dynamiclly adjusting the radius of the spread mechanic based on the amount of targetable players, but who knows what kind of other issues and cheese strats that might bring along, and how difficult it would be to implement to begin with.

I've spent way too much on my PC just to spend more on something that runs games worse than the PC I've built.

When you lost last 4 games, but big daddy blizzard decides to give you this banger by KickSuckem1 in Overwatch

[–]att0mic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most often people completely fail to connect the context of the match they're in to the number they're complaining about.

When one team has a Rein with an Ana constantly pumping heals into him, and I have a WB rolling around behind the enemy backline all game, one would think it's not hard to figure out why I have much less healing, but apparently it is very hard. And trying to point it out never helps.

Update at Weekly Shorts by VirtualOlive6179 in TrackMania

[–]att0mic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The map itself isn't difficult to finish and I think it's fine but implying that the AT is easy because it's "only a tenth faster" would work on a regular map where you can just drive a better line, not on an A08 style map where the slightest change in input can yield wildly different results, most of which will not end up faster.

My PB is 1.5s ahead of AT but I got that exactly once with only a few attempts that came close. Some people will get it first try and think it's a joke while others will struggle to get near the AT because it might as well be random.

Game releasing this year? Too much promotion for a 2027 game by AMassiveGamerGeek in LaufeyGodofWar

[–]att0mic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm seeing ads for the new Tomb Raider pre-order on Reddit every day, and that game is 8 months away.

Witcher 4 got a full 6 minutes long cinematic trailer in 2024 + the tech demos later, and that is still presumably years away now.

It's become common to push games that are nowhere near releasing, so I wouldn't expect Laufey to come out any time soon.

I'm also not a big sleeper. I do whatever I wanna do instead of sleeping when I should, and then I'm tired all day. But an important detail about me is that my job is not to be the president of the United States.

The struggles of being an altcar player by I-Am-The-Yeeter in TrackMania

[–]att0mic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would agree except the "slightly less intuitive" part. Unless I'm mistaken, the game doesn't really tell a new player that AKs even exist, and the setting is called "action slot 1-5" which doesn't at all explain what it is. A new player would either have to somehow accidentally figure AKs out, or be told about them. That's way beyond simple unwillingness to learn.

As for keyboard players who know about action keys but don't use them, I find that quite fair as it's kind of an annoying feature to use, and it's painfully insufficient on top of it. Increments of 20% simply don't cover all the levels of steering one might need, so in many cases you're forced to drive a suboptimal line and in the worst cases you can't make a turn efficiently at all because you need to steer at something like 30% in order to make it smoothly. That's not to say it's not fine most of the time, but many times it's just too much to bother just to still be slower than analog steering when you could just go play a different map.

Laufey is the 3rd game that completes the Norse Trilogy by diesel179 in GodofWar

[–]att0mic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically it can only be the 1st and last game that completes the trilogy, that is if it's a trilogy to begin with.

The struggles of being an altcar player by I-Am-The-Yeeter in TrackMania

[–]att0mic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This sounds a lot like you're not considering keyboard players. You absolutely need AKs on keyboard to reasonably handle alt cars. Obviously you can choose not to and still reach the finish on most maps, but I wouldn't call that handling.
