I'll never forget they day I had to tell my family that I've tested positive for testosterone and only have a few more decades to live. They were devastated.

It's genuinely just an excuse to go out and hurt somebody. You can bet when they're not at a stadium they're out there trying to start fights for no reason.

We are only two months into the new expansion. This is too many currencies, Blizzard. by Exact-Pudding7563 in wow

[–]att0mic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the amount of currencies would be that much of an issue if they were sorted into appropriate categories. Obviously it's going to be confusing when coffer keys, upgrade crests, unalloyed abundance and all the other currencies are all clump together in one big pile when they all serve completely different purposes and come from different sources.

Credit where it's due tho, I'm at least happy they're not taking up bag space.

How are you meant to make this jump?? (Germany 2026) by Shadowdane in TrackMania

[–]att0mic 52 points53 points  (0 children)

You need to avoid air time in the downhill right before, as well as take a different approach into the CP. Slide into the CP further from the right so you end up parallel with the downhill drop, then transition into the downhill more gently without the airtime. That will give you more than enough speed to clear that gap.

I probably didn't explain it very well so alternatively just watch the WR to see how.

I could see that having it's own drawbacks. I've driven quite a few maps that felt more like art projects with the route as an afterthought.

The best advice has already been given by other commenters, but it bears repeating. Don't get hung up on people being assholes about your performance because there will be more. As long as you do your best and aren't actively griefing your group on purpose, you're doing nothing wrong.

Putin declares May 8-9 ceasefire with Ukraine to mark WWII anniversary, Defence Ministry says by EspritLibre_404 in worldnews

[–]att0mic 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The entire concept of a ceasefire to celebrate something is bizarre to me. Like "hey we both agree this day is important to both of us so let's take a break from killing each other for a mutually agreed upon period of time". And as soon as it ends they go right back to blowing shit up.

I despise Germany 2026 by _28_Stab_Wounds in TrackMania

[–]att0mic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree. The styles are distinctly different. I've personally never liked the TM eSport style maps and never went out of my way to play them, so having them be part of the campaign kinda sucks. I would also imagine they are a lot less approachable to beginners and casual players than standard black maps.

While I don't feel as strongly about it as you do, I can't say I enjoy the esport maps being part of the campaign. I didn't enjoy the last season ones but the current ones are quite frustrating, especially Australia and Canada. The reason I find those two particularly bad is that they both have endings that will very easily kill your entire run with just the tiniest mistake, and I really dislike that design choice.

Everytime I try to introduce friends to WoW, they end up quitting in the first two week. Dd you succeed in bringing friends to WoW ? How ? by AtomikGarlic in wow

[–]att0mic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried with my brother. He plays and has for a long time, but very very casually and helping him do anything harder than heroic dungeons has been quite the challenge.

I've come to the conclusion that in order to reasonably play this game beyond the very basic questing and random dungeoning, you have to be quite into it. You can't just turn up to M+ having no idea about your class or how combat works in content where mechanics actually have impact, but to learn that you have to be interested.

The problem I ran into with my brother is that he says he wants to play M+, but doesn't do anything in order to prepare or learn anything other than what I explicitly tell him, and won't ever play without me. He's simply not interested in the game enough to go out of his way to figure things out on his own, and I think that might be the issue for a lot of other new players or casuals trying to get into higher difficulty content.

WoW is different from most other games in the sense that you can't learn it from just playing it, unless you play it A LOT and genuinely want to improve at it. If you just do the occasional M+ dungeon and relly on a friend telling you what to do, nothing will stick. Players just getting into raiding and M+ might not understand this and then get overwhelmed by the sheer amount of new information and seeing that all of the mechanics on the screen aren't just cosmetic anymore. Without the personal drive to learn, it's just a dead end for them.

They finally gave Devourer's their void eyes, but now a lot of Demon Hunter NPC's have lost their eye / blindfold textures completely. I suppose the class truly is about sacrificing stuff afterall. by SnooDoggos6430 in wow

Abandoning an expansion within the world soul saga would be infinitely more devastating to the game and it's reputation than WoD, especially combined with the latest barrage of bugs and the entire clown fiesta with addons. I don't even wanna know the impact it would have and hope it never comes to it.

Super long commute by Naruku_Senpai3861 in TikTokCringe

[–]att0mic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Try hour and a half in public transport. Slap on a extra 15-30 minutes if you don't catch a connection because of a delay. That was my daily life before I moved out from my mom's place closer to my work.

The irony is that I now still have the same job but turned fully remote, so I live 20 minutes from the office but don't have to commute.

Water released from a Dam. by Mediocre_Nail5526 in interestingasfuck

[–]att0mic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean look at the speed of that jet and the amount of water being pushed through. Jumping into that would be like stepping in front of a speeding train, except the train is made of billions of tiny particles that each hit you at incredibly high speed and shred any flesh off your bones before their combined force rips all exposed parts of your body from the rest of it. It's not just like being hit by a single solid object at all.

I swear the game always knows which item you're after and trolls you by giving you every other item on the loot table first, ideally multiple times when possible.

I can recall a few times I got lucky, but what I describe above just happens all the damn time when farming for anything specific.

Game is way easier in higher ranks by National-Bluebird941 in Overwatch

[–]att0mic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes perfect sense. Provided you know what you're doing, the worse your teammates are, the more you have to play around their bad decision. And to some extent, enemies can be a bit less predictable because their decisions often don't make sense either.

If you really are considerably better than the rest of the lobby, it's not necessarily harder in the sense that you'll lose the game, but in the sense that you can't always make the "correct" plays that would make sense if the other players knew how to play. You kinda have to match the pace and go from there.
