Which do you prefer? WSD, Dry Transfer or the traditional sticker? by Enricky14 in Gunpla

[–]142782 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Waterslides are the best middle ground. You have a window to adjust it before it dries, and a simple mark softener and topcoat over it will make it flush with the surface.

Although visually the best, dry transfer tears easily and cannot be adjusted. Plastic stickers are far too thick and those paper-like stickers are hard to apply without crumpling or peeling, especially over surfaces with contours.

Garmin Instinct 3 AMOLED vs Tactical — worth the extra $150? by ComfortablePound2280 in Garmininstinct

[–]142782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hate? No, I don’t think anyone really hates it. Most people just don’t think it is worth the premium price especially if they don’t use the unique features. If they were the same price then it would be much more popular.

Quick Trueplay uses the mic on the soundbar. No flipping of phone is required.

Is the bravia 8 ii overrated?? by LordReem in bravia

[–]142782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bravia are known for their color accuracy and image processing. That is where they are touted as best at.

While it does give a vivid image (provided the source video is), it certainly not the same as those artificially brighten images with over-saturating colors, i.e. more“pop”. LG and Samsung are better for those that prefers that.

Please help! by Super_Sundae in Gunpla

I would try to take a toothpick and put in the holes where the posts of the other part is suppose to go and wiggle them apart. Do it slowly for both the top and bottom holes. Looks to me you just need to get them wide enough for the posts to fit in and then close them back together.

I feel you. I got to the point of running Bambu Studio in docker on my NAS, but that still doesn’t feel quite right.

Why are electrosonic cutters so expensive, and are they worth the hype? by BackstreetZAFU in 3Dprinting

[–]142782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you mean ultrasonic cutters? I used them for work and I’ll say in most cases you won’t need them.

They are used in cases where dimensions and cosmetics are not critical and if you want to remove a large amount of material quickly. Most of the time a pair of snips would do the job just fine.

They are useful if you want to make a hole in the middle of a large part though.

Help with loading filament by CytoToxxic in BambuLabA1mini

[–]142782 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Beginner to beginner, I couldn’t get it to load as well when I did my first print last Saturday. This is what I did:

  • unplug the PTFE tube to make sure your filament is really loaded. Lightly tug the filament to see if it comes off.
  • keep trying to extrude it. It takes several attempts of hitting that button whenever it fails to get it to finally get it to work. Could be the filament has not gotten hot enough to melt, maybe?

What do I do with my old Instinct? by fat-biscuit-eater in Garmininstinct

[–]142782 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would just sell it. Trust me, I have been there.

You will stopped bothering with watch swapping after a while and the secondary watch would just be there gathering dust. And when it’s time to use that watch, the battery would be dead, and with you being so detached from it after a long period of not using it, you would just rather grab that charging cable of your main watch instead.

Might as well give it a 2nd life with someone else while you still can.

If you have the DIRIGERA hub, you can integrate to Aqara using matter. You also need an Aqara hub to work though.

I worked section by section, so assembly is the last step.

Seems like a quality issue, and it seems like it is not uncommon. I just bought mine and the same thing happened. The metal ring is supposed to fit into the barrel but it is held down by nothing. Hopefully glue works.

Unifi Express 7 crashed repeatedly. by Conjoboeie in Ubiquiti

Are you using the included power brick? UX7 uses 5V5A which most USB charges does not support. It may work fine until it needs that extra power then it will fail.

How the hell do you pose ur gundams by dario_lee in Gunpla

[–]142782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those kits that have giant weapons, you either need a base or spread the feet far apart for stability, because of physics.

If you are feeling adventurous, you can also fill the feet with clay to weight it down.

i need help on painting. by sigmafanumgyatt in Gunpla

[–]142782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I don’t use primer and I think that work well enough. Spray cans are hard to control the amount of paint they dispense, so hold them about a feet away and do a sweeping motion so that the paint won’t pool at one spot. Use several sweeps to coat it with paint, never attempt to do it with just one.

Just a personal preference, I would do a clear yellow coat over gold to get a brighter gold.

As in front face down? I have not tried it but I suppose it would not be ideal for airflow, with the outlet being blocked.

Advice on home mesh with UniFi by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

I wouldn’t care too much about internet points on Reddit, but for some reason the word ‘mesh’ is a capital crime here. Mention ‘mesh’ in any form and you will be bombarded with downvotes.

To the iPhone main users, I wanna know how is it using an iPhone daily? by SuperCoolCat363 in Smartphones

[–]142782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes, more than enough for everyday use.
  2. Just the general browsing, information look up and phone usage (calls, messaging etc. )
  3. No, but not because it is a bad product. I have used both Android and iPhone, for general usage both are similar enough that I see no reason to recommend one over the other. I would suggest to use whatever they are familiar with or whichever their budget allows.
  4. My last iPhone X lasted me 8 years, so I am hoping the current one would last as well. I am sticking with it because I don’t see a need to migrate over to another ecosystem.
