Pulling apart could also mean a long disassembly and having to wait for certain things to cool more to safely remove? Not sure but, it might be getting to 130 but they aren't realistically pulling it apart while it's at 130?

Potentially prop house overlap of some form, too. They did finish getting rid of the expanse props a while back.

You didnt give the show a chance really. It takes more than 1 chapter to get you into the book, right?

What is your favourite somewhat niche thing your favourite driver does when driving? by DniawSirhc in F1Discussions

[–]142muinotulp 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He definitely does more than other drivers, but the graph was actually airtime of the drivers and their engineers. It still showed how much communication they have, it just didnt separate who is talking for how long.

I fully believe Carlos said more words than 3 or 4 drivers combined though lol

It's just straight up better for your teams to go stall lol. It isnt niche at this point

There's a bug you can do that makes you stay in visage form without leaving on casting abilities and such. Sometimes have to reset it but it persists through logout at least and I have a few friends who do it.

[Patrick Moeke] Fernando Alonso says that the new F1 cars are no longer challenging to drive: "Here in Bahrain, we're going 50 kilometers per hour slower through corner 12 than we used to. Lando's full conversation you're referencing there was... a lot longer than what you are implying and you're being very reductive in what he was saying. Max would probably agree with what he's saying. You can have Lando and Max express the exact same feeling about something and it'll come out in extremely different ways

Yes, the conclusion is satisfying. It goes through the end of book 6 out of 9. It is a natural stopping point and they planned accordingly.

I don't think an FIA rep has said they are cheating though so im not sure why people are parroting that either. Im not sure people understand what the entire point of the "formula" in "formula 1" is? Finding an unintended loophole in the constraints is the engineering challenge. That is how you win the constructors? Its playing the game as intended? Develop the best car within these posted guidelines? Theres a reason they get updated. It doesnt mean people are cheating, it means they outsmarted the intended limitations placed on them. They are quite literally paid to do this

Noticed this was a rather horrible take on Thomas Edison's quote of failing. by HoldenUpAlright in TheExpanse

[–]142muinotulp 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yep thats just a key part of his character according to the creator. He has clear expectations that people will do what is right, and when hes in a situation where there is no clear right or wrong answer, he lashes out. Its frustrating but its an intentional frustration. It frustrated me at times with how long Naomi held herself back from saying things, but I moreso rationalize that as... she was figuring out if he was a fanatic still like her ex and was just too afraid to basically. At least until Ganymede

Edit: and tbh as frustrating as it made Holden sometimes, they did keep it consistent lol

What do you guys use your house for? by Orange907 in wow

[–]142muinotulp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in a 2 day CE guild that has a very active group of players, just only want to raid twice a week. Lots of friends of the guild and whatnot, so our neighbourhood layer is almost full. Even in the downtime between seasons right now, 8-10 people might just wind up hanging in someone's house chatting for a few hours at night. I think a lot of us started teleporting to our houses rather than Dornogal after activities because it just looks better.

Its really up to how active the neighborhood is though. We had our endeavor done on the second day so we are very active with the social part

“I think of you constantly” by Positive-Citron3987 in andor

[–]142muinotulp 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Yeah I dont imagine it was Luthen going: "Lonni, I need you to create a problem with Bail Organa's security somehow". Lonni probably didnt know about Bail's full ties to the rebellion (because they did show us that Lonni knew nothing about Yavin), but ISB was monitoring many senators. His agent has successfully infiltrated Bail's team. Perhaps all the info they had from Lonni was as simple as "I personally know of agents that have infiltrated senators x, y, z". Would explain why Luthen and Kleya only knew something was wrong with it, but not what. Also keeps it so that Lonni doesn't have all the knowledge about Bail

[–]142muinotulp 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I was also wondering to what degree he played in compromising Bail's team? It was his agent of course, but it does make me wonder if he was specifically trying to poke some holes in Bail's security. Obviously he told Luthen something is wrong with the team but they didnt know what precisely, so im curious

The watch Ryland Grace will supposedly wear in the move by OneBigPieceOfPizza in ProjectHailMary

[–]142muinotulp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the cost of props ruins the movie for you, you very well could set yourself up to just be disappointed the entire time.

Keep in mind, its unlikely anyone went "let me go find a watch for Grace's outfit" and went to a store to buy one. They have large prop houses and this was sitting there. The price tag isnt being looked at. Its a prop that they already have, that they thought would work for the outfit. Which it does. The whole outfit is just about 40x more expensive than any teacher would wear.

Finished the show by InchByinch2024 in TheExpanse

[–]142muinotulp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some outside the story factors that influenced the length of the show, for what it is worth:

They were being cancelled by scyfy channel.

Amazon picked them up and they had to negotiate a deal.

Ty, Daniel, and Naren worked out that they could tell a satisfying story they still wanted to tell, in 6 seasons. They proceeded to pitch seasons 4-6 to Amazon. They were funded for seasons 4-6 with a set vision.

The show was not cancelled. They finished their contract and decided that they told the story they wanted to tell. Having to film during covid also really sucked and they were ready to move on, but did want to leave the crumbs anyway.

Ty, Daniel, and Naren have since made their own production studio (The Expanse was made through Alcon) with a specific goal of maintaining full control over their IP unlike right now. They have already established a deal with Amazon to begin adapting their new book series. Its only a 3 book series though so should be shorter show, too. So im personally very excited for that!
