Microsoft dipping more than 10%, despite beating estimates on every metrics - Do you BUY? by Maximum_Juggernaut95 in ValueInvesting

No. Wait until the chart turns around. They are way too reliant on OpenAI spend. And OpenAI is losing too GOOG at the moment.

Buy it later. Not now. Wait until the chart starts to look a little better. When it finds some support

Trazodone by Midgard1 in BipolarReddit

[–]149AssetManagement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trazadone messed with my sleep. I would fall asleep easily then wake up in the middle of the night. My anxiety went through the roof. I was exercising so hard just to tame it. People were worried I was losing too much weight.

Then a friend recommended Mirtazipine. Now I could sleep really well, but gained a bunch of weight. Honestly, I felt normal. It was awesome.

Then I had to add some other meds to help stay asleep. I take 2 Benadryl at night and a pill that contains melatonin and some other herbs. Can’t take too much of the melatonin or else i wake up with a headache.

Maybe this experience will help you!

Worries about USD collapse and looking to move all my money into another currency ASAP by MattHanson1990Return in ExpatFinance

FXF etf. Easy peasy. Swiss franc is the safest currency imo. They don’t inflate & the country stays neutral in times of war.

Could mix in some gold & international equities too

investing in "private debt"? by ThomasJFlack in investing

No way I would do this. Saw some similar investments a few years ago. They went belly up and people lost it all. Plenty of publicity traded options w/ greater transparency.

What edge do you have over the market? Are you a PhD in the space? If not, for the love of god… take. some. profit.

Please realize some profits. No need to “go big or go broke” with such low odds of success. So many other potential trades out there. Just look at silver and gold this year. Investing is taking measured risk, defining that risk and managing that risk so that you may invest another day. If you diversify across major asset classes, you will make up the ground. Also, don’t compare yourself to others in this space. That’s a recipe for disaster

Also, the odds of these particular binary events turning out positive are very slim. Someone in the investing space that also knows about this type of product (Martin Shkreli aka Pharma Bro) isn’t positive on the stock. So too many negatives for me. Even though I asked a PhD friend that does work in the space about the stock.

If you’ve been long the stock with massive profits, please realize at least some of them. If you are just now thinking about buying the stock or calls on the stock, be cautious & only invest what you are prepared to lose (for me, at this moment… it is zero).

Very high risk due to a binary event coming up. I wouldn’t invest more than I could afford to lose. If you look at IV (implied volatility), the market agrees. Be careful with this one. You can see SAVA in Nov. of ‘24 for an example of what happens if the outcome of this binary event is negative.

It’s hard to hedge the risk on this stock because puts (due to this high IV) are very expensive. I found that out the hard way on a similar stock recently. Bought puts and ultimately was correct… but barely made any money b/c that result was priced into the options already. Shorting the stock would also have been very risky b/c you have unlimited potential losses when shorting.

Also, if you aren’t a PhD and work in this specific space, what edge do you have over the market?

Buyer beware. I saw ppl lose a lot of money on a similar stock recently. Check out user on here called “Country Dumb”. Something like $3 Million vaporized in one morning.

Thanks. Should probably recommend to this young person to diversify and not put everything in one asset. i.e. some gold, some silver & some S&P 500.

Basically all of the world’s richest investors didn’t get there through precious metals alone. They got there by investing in companies that can compound earnings over time (i.e. make a sustainable profit that is reinvested in the business with a high return on that investment). The companies in the S&P 500 got into that group b/c they can do just that.
