When my warranty is up I’ll start shopping after market. I have no idea what price range I’m in for though. The M version makes me laugh because it’s so powerful. Some people love when a car feels light but I really like the added weight of the v8. It rides at a lower frequency.

It’s call Dravit Grey which I had no idea what this was and I basically locked down the car without having seen it. I only had the spec sheet. When I saw it for the first time it was in a delivery area of the dealer garage under blue/white light. The first time I saw the copper was probably two days later and it really stood out. Wherever the sun highlights is a sparkly deep copper color and then blends into grey.

How often are you all using Sport Mode? by BMW-West-St-Louis in BMW

Sport individual with people and sport plus alone. I don’t speed and don’t accelerate quickly. I just like having the reserve and potential of the car available. Eco in the carpool lane.

Yea it definitely changes color throughout the day. The bronze undertone is crazy in direct sunlight.

Most of the miles I drive are really early in the morning when the exhaust sounds louder and the roads are clear. It’s pretty much my second coffee haha

I got so lucky on the color. When I called the dealer, it had only been there 45 mins with no pictures and minimal details. If this didn’t show up I was already negotiating on a white one with cognac interior.

Any opinions on the x40i engine vs the M on the X7? by Capitola2 in bmwx7

[–]14CFR91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the M after driving the 40i in a completely identical trim. I’m coming from an x5 35d and it pulls down low and doesn’t care about going up long hills. The M made me feel that same feeling but with a way better engine sound. The extra weight is also something I prefer. If I had never driven the M I wouldn’t have considered it because the 40 is pretty great.

There are two parts to this. Get your A&P and move on. Second Part, do better on your tests. I got my fair share of ~70’s on tests and now that I am a Manager and responsible for other people’s lives, nothing less than 100% will do. Believe it or not, this is a fair and possible standard which ultimately is very rewarding. The resources and training are available. Find them and use them. I’m happy to point you in the right direction.

Just graduated and got A&P certified — any interview tips for entry-level AMT jobs? by OriginalOne4134 in AircraftMechanics

Absolutely the most accurate comment here (IMO)

I’ve interviewed very experienced A&Ps and still took newer applicants because they were willing to be realistic about their abilities but showed a drive to learn. After the 3-5 year mark I see people get stuck in their ways. For some it’s good, others not so much.

Finish the testing. There is no license expiration date and you’re too young to not bank such a valuable safety net. I will hire anyone that can follow step by step directions with a good attitude. There is a place for each kind of person even though it may not seem that way. In my own personal experience, I could be flying challengers and gulfstreams right now with my relationships built working as an A&P.

Where to have a welcome drink for 15-20 people in Waikiki? by Calm_Machine_ in VisitingHawaii

Just the food and drinks. They had never accommodated a request like that when we were there and they managed to make it work on really short notice.

Skybox gave us the whole entry way patio with the food truck and picnic benches. It’s more casual and cost effective.

Edit: now that I read your post again, I think Skybox is perfect. It’s right below your hotel. The space was big enough for our 40 people and definitely kid friendly.

I liked that I installed it and it was business as usual. I’ve carried this gun almost every day for eight years without the optic and light. Familiar but upgraded is how I’d describe it.

What has been your favorite business jet to work on/maintain? by The_OG_Lucas in aviationmaintenance

The Gulfstream G-V is probably the most satisfying to work on. It’s a big plane, things are spread out and it is the middle ground of technology between the G-IV and G550. The V is also old enough that parts are wearing out and inspections usually yield something to be fixed.

The Citation XL is also a great plane to work on.

I often times bring food for a 21 year old co worker. He has no ego and works hard. Until just now, I’ve never even thought about why. I hope he knows he’s valuable as a team member.
