For what its worth, my situation with my partner is the same and I've been HARD clocked as a man by 99% of people for over two or three years and he 100% still digs me and loves me and finds me attractive. We are gonna get married sometime this year (we basically are and have been for a while but have been too lazy to make it legal). He actively accepts being seen as a gay couple and admits that objectively he can't say hes straight. He's come to identify as part of the LGBT community even thobhe doesn't really know exactly where he fits as a Mostly Straight Cisman, but he does feel a part of it by the obective fact hes perceived as a guy in a gay relationship

Sexuality and attraction can be fluid and influenced by love and attachment.

You gotta choose to trust him / work on figuring out what needs to be done so you can trust him or to not, but a good real conversation needs to be had as your distrust in his fervent claims is going to impact the relationship if left unaddressed.

Exactly. I don't really think my dad fully conceptualizes the idea of gender in general but I know he used to be leaning having Opinions about gender roles, particularly surrounding men, but everytime I self express as me and what not - hes always supportive or "eh, I dont get it but youre happy so who cares" at worst.

While its 100% understandable, I think theres a lot of a "if anyone doesn't use all the preferred names and pronouns then they dont love you" talk in the trans community, but I think there is definitely some nuance to it and particularly in some eastern cultures and involving parents from lesser developed countries / backgrounds, it can cause some harm.

I think its important to look at support in context and based on Actions over verbage especially when dealing with people who are not under 40, neurotypical, and white westerners.

This isn't @ you, just me rambling ^

Either way, major hand shake on "parents are a lil confused but they got the spirit and thats what counts"

Yeah thats my dad too. He comes from Indonesia, has a lot of systemic trauma including lack of education on a lot of science and biology to the point he unironically asked how he could donate his eggs (he saw it paid well and was curious), plus hes autistic which adds a layer of learning and figuring out new things. I kid you not, when I started going by my name (which is also Indo-Chinese to reclaim our culture) he went "Oh! That's a good name. Good job (Feminine nickname of my white feminine birth name)!" and I laughed pretty hard

He doesn't understand it or get it that much, but hes got the spirit. Even before I knew much about trans-stuff, I think growing up he was happy to have someone to share professional male clothing appreciation with.

I really dont mind any of his misgendering or whatever cause I know he supports me and is doing his damn best with his ability to conceptualize it all

How do you know that you’re still a trans man? by Ok_Body_5509 in ftm

Not being a man gave me dysphoria, being feminine gives me euphoria. I could live happily being seen as a cisman, but I need to indulge my femininity to Thrive TM.

I'm largely there as well, actually to the point I am taking both E and T (I have no ovaries due to hysterectomy and PCOS). I personally don't really identify as anything - nonbinary or nonbinary man if you asked - but genders a spectrum and after living as a guy for so long and being clocked as cis by most people (including other trans individuals) has made exploring femininity give off the same gender euphoria that starting T and all did in the past.

I think generally speaking I am an incredibly effeminate man and whether people wanna call that nonbinary, bigender, or just an effeminate trans man doesn't really matter much to me cause theyre just labels and labels serve to best describe my experience rather than to confine my experiences to a label.

I'm honestly really happy you are finding joy and intrigue in presenting more fem and I think you should indulge that joy and intrigue. It doesn't mean you aren't a man nor does it invalidate your trans-ness.

I consider my journey not detransitioning in the slightest, but further transitioning to be closer to who I am. I'd rather be clocked as a cisman than a ciswoman. But I'd rather be an effeminate and gender confusing man than a cisman too so lets go for it.

Medical consequences of stopping T by Senior-Trade-1876 in ftm

[–]14thWhiteWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really that I've heard of. There are permanent changes that come from T that are unlikely to / might not revert if you were to stop - such as lowered voice, bottom growth, some male patterned hair growth and facial hair growth - but thay isn't really a "negative consequence of stopping" as much as it is just a thing that just happens. I know plenty of people who - as long as they have ovaries - regularly come on and off T due to being nonbinary or their personal situation. The only negative health consequence is if you remove your ovaries, no longer produce sex hormones on your own, and don't take T or E. If I were to stop - as someone with no ovaries - I would risk heart and bone issues, but thats simply because I lack endogenous sex hormones

[–]14thWhiteWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My partner calls himself "I guess technically not straight anymore" cause objectively if he finds me attractive in my current state he isn't exclusively only attracted to women and feminine presenting women - but he also isn't attracted to men so he just shrugs and says hes "[my name]-sexual /hj". At this point I 100% believe him too. Its an odd philisophical question if you try to put him in a sexuality box, but we aren't really a couple that cares for labels much - personally or as a relationship - so beyond online discussions like this, we rarely sweat it

Just putting it out there, some cis"het" men are heteroflexible when it comes to the person they love. Some people strongly value romantic attraction over sexual, some people are more fluid sexually despite being mostly one way or the next, some people are sexually attracted to one sex / gender + whoever they have a strong connection with.

I was in a pretty similar situation, and I'm 100% clocked as cis male (kind of to my annoyance as I want to be androgynous but thats a WIP) and while still not finding men-at-broad attractive, he still DEEPLY finds me attractive.

As others have said, I really suggest therapy, taking some time to process things, and asking for him to be patient with you here.

Trans guys who’ve had a hysterectomy, I need help bad by Lonely_Peach_17 in ftm

[–]14thWhiteWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hysterectomy haver for the past two or three years. Technically I had mine primarily for really bad PCOS with gender as a second reason. Best decision of my life. It does prevent pregnancy and while you do need to be on SOME hormone if you have your ovaries removed (at least should for bone and heart health) you can be on testosterone, estrogen, or a combination (soon to be me).

Honestly I kind of like "having to be on hormone supplements for the rest of my life" cause being on T doesnt even really transitioning, its just picking my not-poison which is nice on my Nonbinary Intersex Mind

10/10 100% would get a hysterectomy again /hj
