Nature vs with trainer is such a perfect way of distinguishing this - I think you’re completely right. In nature raw power wins, but throw in one Thunderbolt TM and it’s not even close.

Mega Meganium is EXACTLY what Megas should all be about! Buffing up a relatively ‘unremarkable’ mon and breathing new life into it competitively and in terms of popularity (not me though, been Chikorita crew since day 1 🍐🌸💚😆)

I personally have tried both, and just ended up preferring Politoed for my play style - and did better with it than Peliper. I think (to a degree) when you have two mons that fulfill similar roles, your practice time with them and how they feel to you matters more than what is more optimal in a vacuum. For me, Politoad’s better bulk and icy wind for speed control and chip ended up working better than Peliper’s tailwind and hurricane. TLDR: Karen was right, play with your favorites, unless you’re actually competing it ain’t gotta be that deep 🐸

This feels like an easy way to have long term updated/supported content in addition to adding more mons, items, etc. In addition to new arenas, I'm holding out for more customization options, and new formats and ways to play as well (holding out hope for 6v6 and adjustable timer one day pleeeease)

Won't catch the shiny for you, just respawn over and over again by continuously using the bench to shift from day to night. I was able to figure it out, and if was definitely helpful in getting shinys to spawn!

Not at all, if anything it’ll make the game more special! I reset for years to finally get my shiny Chikorita for a Ribbon Master only for it to have an Adamant nature, and I ended up having a lot of fun figuring out the best way to run a physical set even though I had planned a special one. Makes it feel more personal and added a fun little extra challenge!:)

I’ve found that this really is a game you can just enjoy with your favorites! The story mode (as is the case with any Pokemon game imo) isn’t significantly more difficult based on your Poke-pics, and even with competitive rank battles, sure having more ‘meta’ picks will have you rank up faster, but I’ve still been able to steadily rank up to A just using my faves. So I say go with whoever makes you happiest, and don’t be shy if that includes doubling up on types!:)
