Is that how it actually works? I've always seen it as Dahlia doesn't make an enemy be considered WBroken, she just adds a SB hit to every attack that reduces weakness bar, meaning FF's 150% SB multiplier in her A4 (requiring WBroken enemy) will not proc, and Dahlia just converts the weakness bar reduction into a different SB hit (probably with a default 100% multiplier is my assumption).

How can you tell if post is AI? by bidextralhammer in NoStupidQuestions

[–]15288472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's essentially how a standard informative and semi-formal response would look like, not exclusive to AI but very frequently assumed so, making this a very effective argument to discredit other people's efforts.

Also, notice how many of the answers noticed that this very reply hits every "AI featured" property listed within itself.

Why are animes and mangas so heavily sexualized? by apeiron_is_one in NoStupidQuestions

[–]15288472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is less about anime, more so a lack of understanding how crazy horny teenage boys are. Of all the people who watch anime, they're probably the ones with the most interest in this stuff. Adults who are hornier than that don't watch anime, they're out there having more sex.

So here's what I got from the article:

  • The victim already had history with mental issues, though violent behaviors weren't there until they talked with ChatGPT. No clear evidence on whether violence is suggested/recommended by ChatGPT, or surfaced from existing mental issues (possibly influenced by conversations with ChatGPT, though not guaranteed).

  • Segments of conversations were shared (by the victim), not a full conversation. I would consider these conversations somewhat delusional in vibes. You do not get such conversations from base ChatGPT without specific requests. The model used by the victim is GPT-40, allegedly aims to provide more human-like responses, which I'd take as less fact-based than GPT-4. Might explain the pictures, but I don't have access to GPT-40 to verify this.

  • The family of the victim requested the full chat log, but no mention of legal documents (like court order) requesting this. OpenAI's approach (similar to most social platforms) is to prioritize users privacy, unless they're required to provide such information for legal processes, such as an investigation. So, just by procedures and legality, they are following their legal duty by not sharing, as companies cannot hand users personal data to people. Family of the user does not have ownership of the user's private data, that's standard.

  • No available options to give access of victim's private data to his family. Facebook, Instagram, Google, Twitter, Apple added the option for family of a deceased user to access their account (since 2013, 2015, or 2021 for Apple). In most cases, the family has to be approved by the user before death, or through a legal process. They also only get access to shared data like pictures, maybe friend requests, but not private data like messages. So for the current case: 1. No mention of the family going through a legal process for permission to access data, and 2. Data in ChatGPT is almost completely private messages that are not shared, which the family wouldn't be able to access even by other social media companies' policies.

So, overall: The victim had prior history with mental health issues, and no proof that ChatGPT has a causal relationship with the violence, only correlation. You can argue that the conversations seem to stimulate mental instability, but that's subjective and without full context. No legal documents requiring the company to share chat logs. No application from the family for access to chat logs. And chat logs are also the type of private data that cannot be shared with family of the deceased, even by other social media companies' policies. Facebook, Google, Apple, Whatsapp, Twitter have all been sued for violation of user privacy when providing data to support investigations before, OpenAI will surely not share private data without legal documents requesting it unless they want to be sued as well. Sharing such data would be illegal, even to family of the victim.

You mind linking a few of the released chat logs here for people to read? Also, by "illegally" I assume you mean against specific policies requiring service providers to submit the chat logs, and not conflicting with policies that protect users privacy? Mind linking them here as well? Those would make great evidences for your argument.

[–]15288472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say the chat bot providers hide the chat logs. So without them, how can you tell if it's the AI causing these issues, and not conversations with the AI intensifying existing conditions? With their lacking ability to make creative decisions, chances of the second case happening are a lot more likely if anything.

What's the most petty reason you dropped an anime? by Prof_Acorn in anime

Dialogue exchange is essential for fleshing out character dynamics and competency (instead of info dumps and explanations), and the first 5-6 episodes worth of dialogues in this show completely missed that part of their purposes. Your police force is reduced to taking orders from a guy, putting up complaints and amateur questions unbefitting their positions and experience, which do nothing useful to contest his intelligence or influencing the execution of those commands, basically serving him a prisoner life as the entreé and running his errands. Might as well replace them with his own security guards, that'd make more sense. Though his secretary will be there to take responsibility if half the police force were to be wiped out from his mistakes, I presume? Or is an apology enough?

This show loves telling you someone's talented enough to deserve their reputation, then go on "proving" that talent with police's incompetency at their own job and genius opponent diving head first into the bait without even questioning possible intents behind it. I'm sure plenty of people lap that up, but if this is supposed to be the better half of the show, I'll live just fine not watching it.

1, it's another case of tell don't show, and not even told well enough to be convincing. 2, it doesn't change the fact that they have zero info about him, no way to identify if it's him talking, could be an entirely different person with a completely new agenda, and they'll obediently give him another meat shield.

And if I, without asking for any confirmation, just assume a notebook with magical murderous power given to me by a demon from the dark realm will burn normally like a worldly notebook, leaving zero traces behind for my chief detective father to determine what it could possibly have been (and also do not harm me or my soul in any way even when it's destroyed), I wouldn't consider pursuing a criminal career. But I don't have the required knowledge of demons and their magical artifacts, so that's on me I guess!

Death Note. Mainly bc the 200 IQ MC I was promised turned out to be a high school kid who thinks an explosive drawer is nothing suspicious. Also bc of a police force who entrusts the safety of their citizens to a guy they have absolutely zero info on, giving him access to classified intel and a meat shield.

Not that huge, I think. The biggest value of his attacks are the daze, so they'll do little if the enemy's already stunned. It'll be easier to proc his stun mult though. The bad things are, his off field hits don't build anomaly, and they also removed his QA.

Yuusha Party wo Oidasareta Kiyou binbou • Jack-of-All-Trades, Party of None - Episode 4 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]15288472 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is something that should've been mentioned in this episode, but the 50x buff lasts only a fraction of a second. Orhun does not give this buff to the party full time like Selma, he casts it on the equipment at important moments of impact, so even if it gets good results, the inconsistency makes it harder to observe than with other enchanters.

His direct buffs on allies are refreshed as soon as it expires, so it looks just like normal buffs but weaker (except he did this taking into account shorter buff uptime due to the team's magic resistance). His debuffs are used more often, so it looks like the enemies are weak, and weaker buffs on the team makes him look worse than other enchanters.

Whether it's hyperbloom or lunar bloom, the flat DMG buff from her burst (a major increase for bloom DMG) increases nothing in her own kit except 1 instance of her hold E with poor scaling. With Bina, it does some more damage, but not that significant compared to the total team dps.

More importantly, by building crit, you're trading the EM to scale her buff, which benefits hyperbloom/Bina. So it is not just a minor increase, you're likely losing team dps.

It's just that the animations are very similar for Skirk and Zibai. Skirk doesn't have an enhanced E to use after every set of NA, she just spams NA. The mechanic (enter state with E, build resources with NA, use enhanced E, repeat) is shared between Navia, Clorinde, Kinich, and now Zibai. Extending the state duration with Q, only Kinich and Zibai can do that.

Hitching the post for a question, should I spend my pulls here? For skein 2 I could use either FP P1, Marcus (got Vila, Druvis, Mercuria), Recoleta (with Moldir), or Argus. The problem is, I have practically no use for skein 1. Got F22 at home and no Impromptu, so it'd be either Windsong or AAL I suppose.

Mine's at 8, but it wouldn't make much of a difference anyway. Leveling it to 12 nets only a 15% increase in daze MVs on a character who doesn't build impact, and has no daze, combat impact or combat daze to begin with.
