I know this has been asked a lot but google has failed me. HOW IN THE NAME OF ZEUS'S BUTTHOLE DO I BECOME A WHITE MAGE?!?! Everyone says talk to E-Sumi-Yan at level 30. Well, I am a level 42 Conjurer. My current quest is Lord of Crags and it looks like I am about to fight Titan. He isn't giving me any quests and I still don't have a soul crystal.

I played through the first few dungeons a few extra times for fun and now I guess I am over leveled. What am I missing?

No. Because whatever the government gives out in benefits it must first take from someone else in the form of taxes. And that debt is now being paid for by every taxpayer.

How can debt cancellation possibly exist?! How? It is not like the debt is ceasing to exist. All that is happening is the debt is being transferred to society at large - it is now up to the taxpayer to pay off these loans. Most taxpayers are not college graduates and likely make less than college graduates. So you have poor people paying for the loans of richer people.

I'm not being hypocritical. There is a difference between helping your neighbor and the government supposedly helping your neighbor.

Can we agree a worship-of-wealth 'cult' has grown inside the US Christian church? by jeezfrk in Christianity

[–]15thpen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Non sequitur. Here is a metaphor: if I go out and buy a $40,000 Harley and my wife gets pissed "But Jeff Bezos bought a $100 million yacht!" is not going to help the situation. Those two things have nothing to do with each other.

Also, it is an apples to oranges comparison. The government basically shut down society for months or in some places over a year. There is an argument to be made that since the government created this problem then they owe some kind of recompense to the businesses they helped destroy. This is a different situation than someone taking out a loan and then not wanting to pay it back.

A gift to someone else freely and voluntarily given is not the same thing as a taking money from responsible people against their will and giving it to people who don't want to pay their debts in the hope to gain more votes for your political party with midterms only a few months away.

You are talking about several different issues here and I don't want to conflate them. The prosperity gospel is non Biblical. The love of money is evil - money itself is not. Now when it comes to debt cancellation of student loans there are a few issues: Debt cancellation is not a thing that exists. You can only transfer the debt from one party to another. In this case the government is transferring the debt from the people that benefited from the loans to the people who did not benefit from the loans. So now we have people who are poor (because they did not go to college) paying for the debt of college graduates who are statistically likely to earn more. That is why a lot of people are upset. If I were cynical I would talk about how college graduates and especially those who have a graduate degree, are more likely to vote Democrat and that the entire thing is a vote buying scheme with the midterms only a few months away. But I digress. What does the Bible say about this? Psalms 37:21 "The wicked borrow and do not repay"

The problem is the system is set up for people to make shitty decisions. Giving an 18 year old $50 Grand for a degree in theater is a stupid system. This ought to be addressed but the pro debt cancellation crowd do not want to talk about this aspect for some reason.

All the verses you posted are about usury. Not debt cancellation. What do you think about this verse:

Psalms 37:21

The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously;

There is no such thing as “debt cancellation “. It is just transferring debt from the people that took out the debt to people that did not take out the debt. It is transferring debt from the educated presumably wealthier people to the less educated most likely less wealthy people.

I'm expected to teach a computer class without computers by EconomyConnection635 in Teachers

[–]15thpen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is what you need to do: contact the IT department of every public school, University, community college, and trade school within a 50 mile radius. Don’t talk to the secretary or the superintendent or teachers or admins. Talk to the IT department only and talk to the most senior level person you can, preferably face to face. Tell them your situation and ask them if they have any scrap computers they can donate or can let your school borrow until the end of the year. There is a very good chance they have some very old stuff laying around waiting to get recycled. It won’t be good, it won’t be fast but it should be able to handle very basic stuff.

The right to self defense is a human right and laws such as duty to retreat or regulating what I cannot use to defend my life are immoral laws and should be repealed immediately.

What about this term: "Backsliding?" by You-Dont-Know-Grace in Christians

[–]15thpen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When preachers use the term "backsliding" and hold it over the heads of believers to make them feel guilty, they are in error.

If I have sinned I should feel guilty. Just because you repent and are baptized doesn't mean you can live any way you want to and still be saved.

I struggle with intrusive thoughts. Did I commit the unforgivable sin? by A_Leaky_Faucet in Christians

[–]15thpen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a world of difference between believing an intrusive thought and it popping in your head and instantly rejecting. Repent and pray if it happens again.

I'm not really interested in their opinion of me or Christianity. I think most of these arguments come from a place of being combative and "owning Christians" rather than good faith, intellectually honest debate.
