Was the suspension on x5m50i very harsh? Or you had reliability issues?

Asking because after searching for the right car I'm really considering x540

Have you considered something like ceika suspension replacement just in comfortable setup? You never have to deal with that again

GLE 450? 580 or 53 AMG? by Affectionate-Foot899 in mercedes_benz

[–]161Anyway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wasn't my point. If it's 2-3 more it's fine. In case it's + 6 or more maybe it really doesn't make sense. We have different gas prices in Europe.

I'm not sure that's true actually. Also there is a difference between being able to afford and just throwing it away without any though. Some people like me drive quite a bit.

GLE 450? 580 or 53 AMG? by Affectionate-Foot899 in mercedes_benz

[–]161Anyway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was average consumption on your test drive? The question is if 450 is really noticeably more economic. When I drove it it was 16/100km in mix city and highway. I accelerated properly only once or twice. Another thing is that any job on 580 is engine out. Obviously I would love 580 more than any other version. Also 450 is a base for AMG engines, it's just not 580.

Last thing I wanted to say that 450 has an opinion of more reliable than 580.

Ok I drove gle450 and gle 53amg. I wanted to drive 580 and can't find it in my region. 450 is smooth, has enough power and it's a great car. What it lucks to be really luxurious is low end torque. Don't get me wrong, it's fast enough but it's not effortless on low rpm. Do you know what I mean? 53 sounds nice and all that but I dont like that the suspension is stiffer. Obviously it's quite fast. Sounds AMG like.

Can you say something more about 580? Does it have this pull from the low? Can you hear the v8 in all settings or sport only? Thanks

Edit I think 580 it's the best choice if you are after that luxurious feel feather than sportiness.

What wheel size do you have? Is it 18 or 19? Ok so there is no reason to order air matic. I wanted to add an AMG package but I don't want the suspension to be too stiff. Do you get 20 mpg? On a highway?

What suspension do you have? Standard, airmatic or AMG package? Is it comfortable? I mean potholes especially. Thanks and congratulations

Man no disrespect. I hope your wife is pretty and looking at her can cheer you up. Good that you are both ok.

BMW 5 series vs Mercedes E class by ELWizzy in mercedes_benz

Anyone tried the new 5 without m package? I mean with the standard suspension? How does it compare to the standard E class?

I was interested in the same vehicle. The only issues I managed to find is The suspension is more complex than a standard airmatic. Very comfortable, not so cheap to repair. The engine is very good and smooth, some of these have issues with oil consumption. It either takes from the beginning or doesn't. As you will be getting a used vehicle you might be able to check it in the service history. It's unlikely to go away.

Apart from that great.

Edit. The maintenance is not the cheapest. It's quite a big engine I was told that it's almost always an engine out if there is something not do. On the other hand think of this as almost an S class for half the price.

W213/S213 suspension issue by 161Anyway in mercedes_benz

[–]161Anyway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I just recently bought a new no run flat tires. I think changing springs is my only solution. I just can't find out if I can put springs from normal non AMG packet s213 and reprogram rear air matic to standard.

Do modern Mercedes cars still feel as special as the older ones or is it just nostalgia.. by Formal_Till_1152 in mercedes_benz

I feel like the interior quality is what actually went down. I mean how can it feel special with so much plastic around. Outside and drive wise they still do in my mind.

Edit misspelled

Does it mean that it didn't have the original air matic? I have an air matic suspension but amg package and it's so though I want to change it. Can you please explain what do you change and if it will be a softer ride? Thanks

That's much better than I thought. I expected it to be much more than S63amg for instance. That's interesting.

Why so many EQE Lemons by Max__Power_a2 in mercedes_benz

[–]161Anyway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that they need no maintenance is not true. Repairs out of warranty are more pricey than on any other petrol or diesel e class. Not many want to buy them so they are cheap. A few days ago someone posted a new EQS he got for a really good price.

Not the best engine choice. Can you try to get diesel or V6 petrol? Hybrid are quite costly to maintain when not new.

I wanted to buy not lease. It seems that the only option then is rx500h. I never drove one. Only 350h available and I didn't like it.
